Weekday Grocery Surprise

Surprise!!!

(While waiting for the ground beef to thaw, maybe I could use this time to make a quick update. October is Inktober. I'm wondering, if there's such a thing called "Cooktober"? Lol. )

Last month, our country has welcomed three to four typhoons with occasional southwest monsoon. But I'm lucky the recent typhoon was already about to exit the Philippine border last October 1st and the weather was also fairly good. A good day for my monthly grocery day.

I would purposely do my groceries at earliest time on Sunday. But after going to the mall on a Monday last September, I saw the grocery store being so quiet with only very few people. Told myself that this is the kind of atmosphere I want when I do my groceries. Lol. Well, Sunday morning is also good but the crowd builds up in just less than an hour.

Since I only go to the grocery store once a month (usually on the last Sunday of the month), I thought that maybe I should try going during a weekday. So instead of going last September 29, I moved it to October 1st (Tuesday). It was still rainy on the 30th that's why I didn't bother to go.

Grocery day came and guess what? It started raining while I was about to leave the house. Fortunately, it stopped some minutes later.

Ah, finally I could shop in peace! That's what's in my head while I'm on my way to the mall.

But man!!! I was wrong! I thought there would be less people since it was lunch time and a weekday. The lines at the cashier were longer compared to a Sunday! The cashier was also surprisingly slow. I was fifth on the line and it took an hour to reach the counter. There was even someone trying to get in front of me. Heck! They parked their cart beside me and was also moving their cart forward when I moved mine. The were also blocking the space where people would pass through to go to the mall and grocery and I was only lucky when a crowd came which forced them to move back and stay behind me. Maybe they saw that one cart in front that was in double lane. They didn't know it was owned by one family. Sorry, I'm not letting them in front of me. I'm on the lane for half an hour already and some people would cut in line just because they don't have the patience to wait for their turn. The audacity of these people is unbelievable!🥴

I got home after almost four hours. I was hella tired but at least I finally found the milk tea store at the mall which I've been looking for months. I didn't know it was only at the left side of the exit where I would regularly pass through after doing groceries!

I was specifically craving for the matcha milk tea which I paired with my last serving of baked mac. The taste was fair but it reminded me that I'm not really a fan of milk tea. I don't know why. The cheese cream tasted like powdered milk and I didn't like that it wouldn't mix with the milk tea so the cream was all that's left after drinking the milk tea.

These past months, my craving for sweets was getting worse. I only came back to my senses after watching a documentary on Netflix about blue zones and people living for hundred years old. I need to lessen sugary, salty, oily, and processed foods.

After organizing my groceries and eating dinner, I rewatched Bohemian Rhapsody before my subscription on Disney+ expired.

I'm finally free from the Disney+ subscription, next would be ending my subscription with Netflix. I've been subscribing on these streaming sites since June or July and it made me very unproductive. I need to remove these distractions so I could I have time for other things. Hey, at least I learned about blue zones.

Well, I guess the ground beef has already thawed so I'm going to cook dinner now. Ciao! ✨️

That's really awesome to see you having a grocery time and we also had a grocery the day before our daughter's birthday and it's really fun seeing lots of items in the grocery store.
