The Northman

• The film is directed by Robert Eggers . So here Eggers we see that he opens up in relation always to the previous two films. In other words, Eggers here undertakes to do something big, the film is a blockbuster (also in terms of budget) and not a small-scale film, and I would say that he doesn't like it that much. Of course the movie is Eggers, even the action if you see it, you understand that you are watching an Eggers movie. Now, technically speaking, the direction of the movie is amazing. From one-shots in battle scenes, to when the protagonists literally play wolves.

• Special mention to Jarin Blascke's cinematography, which is excellent from the night scenes under the full moon to the battle scenes.

• The film's script maintains excellent balances. The script of the film is a revenge story but also something more, let me say at this point that (and this is not a spoiler) that the film is Hamlet (the protagonist is called Hamlet). Of course, when we listen to Hamlet, we perceive a certain form of story... I can't expand more on the theme, because it's a spoiler. But I have to say that at one point, the script was somewhat procedural and that kind of spoiled me.
Also on the script I should say that there have been direct comparisons to Conan and yes I will accept that, but for a very specific time in the film.

• The performances of the film are amazing.
Alexander Skarsgård is perfection, I am completely convinced as a barbarian, I am completely convinced by his journey. The way he's warped his shoulders helps me fully accept him when he literally becomes a bear-wolf.
Claes Bang as the film's antagonist or Claudius is also excellent. His role is key and because if more it will be a spoiler... simply excellent.
Nicole Kidman as the mother of the protagonist and she is excellent. Very nice and interesting things are happening for the character but again if I say more it will be a spoiler.
Anya Taylor Joe is very, very much the love interest of the protagonist, I really enjoyed her presence as part of the journey of the protagonist.
Also there are William Dafoe, Bjork, Ethan Hawk and for the time they are given they are also fine.

• The music of the movie is very nice. It puts you fully into this era and accompanies the entire film beautifully.

To say Eggers so far is really 3/3, I loved the movie (basically the movie is a masterpiece), I can see where Eggers discounted the blockbuster of the case, but still the movie is great. That's it for spoiler free.

My favorite movie of 2022. I’m glad I went to see it at my local cinema on the big screen. The raid part is great and the final showdown, with all the fires, was nothing but superb; but what I liked the most was Amleth’s relationship with his father and mother, and how that ended up. I hope this movie will be for this generation what Conan the Barbarian, The Beatsmaster and Excalibur were for me as a kid.

Por lo que leo esta película hace referencia al pasado de como vivían los hombres en épocas antigua, por lo cual en cualquier momento voy a verla y dar una opinión mas acertada.
