Fairy tails sequel is coming this year so let me talk about the original anime.

The anime is just an epic. The humor is amazing and placed in elegant detail even in the most intense moments for the appropriate decongestion, the soundtrack fits perfectly with the atmosphere and the prehistoric context of its placement and is not at all processing compositions, characters with depth and meaning even the thirds, the surprisingly interesting plot, power system simple and understandable and interesting protagonists whose driving force is not that they are simply ridiculously overpowered.

What I was pleasantly surprised by is that we can probably talk about an early form of the approach that some modern shonen attempt where you don't have the distinct protagonist who is the spearhead of the narrative and everything unfolds around and about him. That is, he is not one person.

So far I think my favorite arc was Tower Of Heaven, which also became one of my favorite anime arcs ever. The themes it touches on, the depth of Erza's character, the back-to-back emotions were just chef's kiss, followed by one of the best brawls I've seen, Battle Of Fairy Tail.

On the downside I would say the fact that this is also a derivative of its time, so it suffers from a pacing issue, following the classic build-transpose pattern. But even the subplots (Dragon Slayers, for example) are so great that they hardly matter.

However, I was impressed by the baseless argument, which is the basic argument of those who bash it, that it is simply about boobies and nothing more. I can understand the plot not liked by anyone, we don't all have to have fun with the same things anyway, and it's certainly quite perverty in points and directing choices, but it basically has women who aren't dressed like lobsters and showing off parts of their bodies . Could the portrayal of femininities be less oversexualised? For sure. But if someone decides to focus on Lucy's and Erza's breasts as a little bit and detracts from their backstory and their placement in the plot, or when he sees a woman in shorts and a tank-top he implies lewdness about it, then that probably says more about him and how he perceives women and not about anime.

We are optimistically moving towards its completion in the manga sequel, looking forward to the sequel anime and hoping it will be an amazing watch.
