Covid And Foundation Season 2

So, once again, I find myself contracting COVID during the exact same period as the previous two years. From now on, for me, Christmas means COVID. Being in bed means having more time to watch series and movies that I had on my list. One such show is the second season of Foundation that I just finished.

Foundation Season 2 starts off 138 years later with a new leader, Cleon, aiming to find a queen and heir. The season starts slow, introducing political intrigue and new characters, initially feeling confusing with a mostly fresh cast.

The show faces serious problems with writing and character chemistry. However, the second half picks up, bringing in fun new characters and exciting space battles reminiscent of "Star Wars." The visuals impress with excessive grandeur.

Returning characters sometimes feel underutilized, and the series maintains an overly serious tone. Despite this, the show eventually finds its stride, exploring themes of authoritarianism and faith versus science. Patient viewers are rewarded with epic sci-fi moments and character revelations.

In Season 2, the fate of the Foundation and humanity takes the spotlight with an impending war. The Church of Seldon adds a revolutionary touch, but the series becomes dense with mind games, lessening its impact. Lee Pace's performance shines, and the season delves into themes of love and vulnerability.

While the visuals remain stunning, the increased complexity may overwhelm viewers, making the once-clever science feel like homework. Despite some struggles, "Foundation" Season 2 delivers a decent watch , offering a detailed epic with engaging drama and entertaining space opera moments.

Now I hope they correct their mistakes in the new season if it gets renewed.
