Es un documental de un crimen real que sucedió en Canadá en el año 2010, la protagonista es Jennifer, hija única de inmigrantes vietnamitas y tras el suceso fue la única persona que podía esclarecer lo que le sucedió en su familia, el hecho conmocionó a toda la comunidad.

Los documentales de crímenes son una buena forma de enterarse de los hechos a través de entrevistas, imágenes y videos que fueron usados como evidencias en los juicios y son reales, además de que también presentan escenas actuadas para dar a entender las hipótesis. Esta forma de contenido audiovisual cada día me gusta más porque me informan o me educan mientras me recreo.

It is a documentary of a real crime that happened in Canada in 2010, the protagonist is Jennifer, only daughter of Vietnamese immigrants and after the event was the only person who could clarify what happened to her family, the fact shocked the entire community.

Crime documentaries are a good way to learn about the facts through interviews, images and videos that were used as evidence in the trials and are real, and also present acted scenes to understand the hypotheses. I like this form of audiovisual content more and more every day because they inform or educate me while I recreate.

El título llamativo de este documental, fue el gancho que me atrajo a él, ¿Qué sería lo que hizo Jennifer? Lo otro fueron sus rasgos asiáticos, ya que considero que son personas tranquilas, con más control emocional, ideas mías, sin fundamento 🤣. Al principio tuve la impresión de que la familia de Jennifer era un modelo a seguir, con reglas estrictas de conducta y proceder; sin embargo, algo hizo la protagonista que generó este documental.

Una noche, emergencia 911 recibió una llamada de una joven pidiendo auxilio. Habían irrumpido en su casa 3 hombres y asesinado a sus padres. Hasta ese momento el móvil parecía ser el robo. Llegó la ayuda y encontraron a Jennifer de brazos atados y su padre aun con vida, pero por su gravedad cayó en coma. Luego del interrogatorio, Jennifer quedó como una víctima que sobrevivió con una imagen intachable.

The catchy title of this documentary, was the hook that attracted me to it, what would Jennifer did? The other thing was her Asian features, as I consider them to be calm people, with more emotional control, ideas of mine, unfounded 🤣. At first I was under the impression that Jennifer's family was a role model, with strict rules of conduct and proceeding; however, something the protagonist did that generated this documentary.

One night, emergency 911 received a call from a young woman asking for help. Three men had broken into her house and killed her parents. Up to that moment, the motive seemed to be robbery. Help arrived and found Jennifer with her arms bound and her father still alive, but due to the seriousness of the situation, he fell into a coma. After the interrogation, Jennifer was left as a victim who survived with an unblemished image.

Al pasar los días su padre salió del coma e hizo una declaración que confundió a los investigadores, Jennifer paso de ser víctima a victimaría y fue cuando poco a poco dieron con la verdadera historia de esta mujer, ella había engañado a todo el mundo creando un personaje ficticio manipulando a sus padres, para conseguir lo que más deseaba satisfacer una relación amorosa que la obsesionaba.

Vivía una vida de mentiras y creó un plan para asesinar a sus padres porque ya no podía seguir manteniendo sus fantasías, ¿Cuál fue el motivo verdadero?, ¿Quiénes fueron sus cómplices? ¿Cómo ejecutaron el plan? Son respuestas que puedes conseguir viendo este documental transmitido en Netflix y que estuvo en el cuarto puesto del top 10 en el mes de abril de 2024.

Aunque los vídeos reales no se ven nítidos, se pueden percibir las emociones, y me hubiese gustado ver más fotos reales de esta familia o de Jennifer.

As the days passed, her father came out of the coma and made a statement that confused the investigators, Jennifer went from being a victim to a victimizer and it was when little by little they found the true story of this woman, she had deceived everyone creating a fictitious character manipulating her parents, to get what she most wanted to satisfy a love relationship that obsessed her.

She lived a life of lies and created a plan to murder her parents because she could no longer maintain her fantasies, what was the real motive, who were her accomplices, how did they execute the plan? These are answers you can get by watching this documentary streamed on Netflix and was ranked 4th in the top 10 for the month of April 2024.

Although the actual videos don't look sharp, you can get a sense of the emotions, and I would have liked to see more actual photos of this family or Jennifer.

En otro orden de idea, me parece increíble que por un motivo tan estúpido alguien sea capaz de asesinar a sus padres, aunque esto no se justifica con ningún motivo que no sea la defensa propia. Esta mujer es una mitómana y ese trastorno la llevó a cometer semejante crimen, viendo este documental y sin ánimo de juzgar a sus padres creo que estuvieron enfocados en su mundo obtención materialista, en la búsqueda del éxito y la perfección y no se involucraron de forma afectiva y cercana con su hija, de otra forma se hubiesen dado cuenta de que todo en Jennifer era mentira.

Me imaginó la tristeza del padre al darse cuenta de lo que hizo Jennifer, se quedó sin esposa y sin hija, es aquí donde digo que la realidad supera la ficción.

On another note, I find it unbelievable that for such a stupid reason someone is capable of murdering her parents, although this is not justified by any motive other than self-defense. This woman is a mythomaniac and that disorder led her to commit such a crime, watching this documentary and without judging her parents I think they were focused on their materialistic world, in the pursuit of success and perfection and were not involved in an affective and close way with their daughter, otherwise they would have realized that everything in Jennifer was a lie.

I imagined the sadness of the father when he realized what Jennifer did, he was left without a wife and without a daughter, this is where I say that reality overcomes fiction.
