Its title and the starring of Julia Roberts, one of my favorite actresses, motivated me to watch Leaving the World Behind, because sometime in life has provoked us to leave everything behind even the world, this movie that has a duration of 1.34 minutes it seemed to me an eternity, that's not good, right 🤨.
The story is about a woman who wakes up one day in her apartment in New York packing her bags and waking up her husband to go on vacation, after a brief reflection, she just wants to go away from the people who according to them are the worst in the world, she wants to leave the world behind, and so she books a house away from the city and goes with her family to this place, once they arrive they find that the house she rented is luxury, and they decide to go to the beach that same day.
Su título y la protagonización de Julia Roberts, una de mis actrices favoritas, me motivaron a ver Dejar el mundo atrás, porque alguna vez en la vida nos ha provocado dejar todo atrás incluso el mundo, esta película que tiene una duración de 1.34 minutos me pareció una eternidad, eso no es bueno, verdad 🤨.
La historia trata de una mujer que despierta un día en su apartamento de Nueva York haciendo maletas y despertando a su esposo para irse de vacaciones, luego de una breve reflexión, ella solo quiere irse lejos de la gente que según son lo peor del mundo, quiere dejar el mundo atrás y por eso reserva una casa lejos de la ciudad y se dirige con su familia a este lugar, una vez que llegan se encuentran que la casa que alquilo es de lujo y deciden ir a la playa ese mismo día.

While resting on the sand, something unusual happens: an oil tanker runs aground on the beach, being the first sign that something was going on. This scene is very attractive, its special effects made me think it was a good movie. The family who were on the beach return to the house and lose the signal of their cell phones, television and are cut off from the world. At that, the soundtrack kicks in and the suspense begins, a suspense that is maintained throughout the story until the end.
It got dark and while the husbands are relaxing and waiting for everything to return to normal, a couple of strangers who claim to be father and daughter and the owners of the house knock on the door, the tension increases because everyone distrusts everyone, they do not know if the new couple is telling the truth, but they still stay in the house and live those days of uncertainty. Without knowing what is happening, the characters begin to develop, we have the husband and wife formed by Amanda (Julia Robert) who is sarcastic, stubborn and distrustful and Clay (Ethan Hawke) who is kind and trusting, their children a teenage boy and a 13-year-old girl who has the innocence of a child of a younger age, depressed, lonely and sad who is obsessed with the show friends and the owners of the house, George (Mahershala Ali) who is businessman and cultured and their daughter Ruth (Myha`laHerrold) a teenager who misses her mother.
Halfway through the movie the music kept raising my suspense to the point that I couldn't take it anymore, I needed something different to happen, some death, murder, sex, some blood would be nice 🤣, but nothing happened, the worst thing is that it seemed that something like that would happen, there were scenes of flirting between the wife with the owner of the house, and between the husband with the daughter of the owner, but nothing happened. The girl also saw animals, behaving strangely and nothing else. Up to this point, I was hesitating to continue watching the movie or not, but I stuck with it because of the main actors.
Things changed a little in the second half, with some special effects scenes that were good, and the suspense continued, in this part it was understood what was happening, the U.S. was under a terrorist attack and its satellites had been shot down causing chaos, now everything was focused on the dynamics of these people for survival and management of their resources.
Mientras descansan en la arena pasa algo inusual: un buque petrolero encallá en la playa, siendo la primera señal de que algo estaba pasando. Esta escena es muy atractiva, sus efectos especiales me hicieron pensar que era una buena película. La familia que estaban en la playa regresan a la casa y pierden la señal de sus móviles, televisión y quedan incomunicados con el mundo. En eso, la banda sonora se hace notar y comienza el suspenso, un suspenso que se mantiene a lo largo de toda la historia hasta el final.
Se hizo de noche y mientras los esposo están relajándose y esperando que todo volviera a la normalidad, tocan a la puerta una pareja de desconocidos que dicen ser padre e hija y los dueños de la casa, la tensión aumenta porque todos desconfían de todos, no se saben si la nueva pareja dice la verdad, pero igual se quedan en la casa y conviven esos días de incertidumbre. Sin saber qué sucede se empiezan a desarrollar los personajes, tenemos los esposos formados por Amanda (Julia Robert) que es sarcástica, obstinada y desconfiada y Clay (Ethan Hawke) que es amable y confiado, sus hijos un chico adolescente y una niña de 13 años que tiene la inocencia de una niña de menor edad, deprimida, solitaria y triste que esta obsesiona con el programa friends y los dueños de la casa, George (Mahershala Ali) que es empresario y culto y su hija Ruth (Myha`laHerrold) una adolescente que extraña a su madre.
A mitad de la película la música seguía elevando mi suspenso al punto que ya no podía más, necesitaba que pasará algo diferente, que hubiera alguna muerte, asesinado, sexo, algo de sangre estaría bien 🤣, pero no pasaba nada, lo peor es que parecía que algo así pasaría, hubo escenas de coqueteo entre la esposa con el dueño de la casa, y entre el esposo con la hija del dueño, pero no paso nada. También la niña vio animales, comportarse de forma extraña y más nada. Hasta este punto estaba dudando de seguir viendo la película o no, pero me mantuve por los actores principales.
Las cosas cambiaron un poco en la segunda mitad, con algunas escenas de efectos especiales que estuvieron buenas, y seguía el suspenso, en esta parte se entendió lo que estaba pasando, EE. UU. estaban bajo un ataque terrorista y sus satélites habían sido derribados ocasionando un caos, ahora todo se centraba en la dinámica de estas personas para la sobrevivencia y el manejo de sus recursos.

🎥 From the beginning they gave to understand especially by the level of suspense generated by the soundtrack, that there would be sex, murders, deaths, among other things, but there was nothing of that, I felt a little disappointed, since from the beginning the suspense was kept on top and the ending was so goofy, but very thoughtful and with that I want to end, it seems to me that it is possible that something like this could happen in the world, a conspiracy to end a government system, it could happen by interrupting its electrical energy, telecommunications and transportation routes, sonic torture of the population and many more, besides the movie makes a call of attention to take care of what children see because it takes them away from the real world and puts them in a fantasy world.
🎥 It is not a movie that I want to repeat, but putting in a balance, its plot, the development of the characters, the soundtrack and the special effects, I rate it with a 6.5. Tell me, have you seen it yet? What is your opinion?
🎥 Desde el principio dieron a entender sobre todo por el nivel de suspenso que generó la banda sonora, que habría sexo, asesinatos, muertes, entre otras cosas, pero no hubo nada de eso, me sentí algo decepcionada, ya que desde el inicio el suspenso se mantuvo en el tope y el final fue tan bobo, pero muy reflexivo y con eso quiero finalizar, me parece que es posible que algo así suceda en el mundo una conspiración para acabar con un sistema de gobierno, puede darse al interrumpir su energía eléctrica, las telecomunicaciones y vías de transporte, torturas sónicas a la población y muchas más, además la película hace un llamado de atención a cuidar lo que ven los niños porque los aleja del mundo real y los mete en un mundo de fantasía.
🎥 No es una película que quiera repetir, pero metiendo en una balanza, su argumento, el desarrollo de los personajes, la banda sonora y los efectos especiales, la califico con un 6.5. Coméntame, ¿ya la viste? ¿Cuál es tu opinión?

Es posible que la trama de esta película tenga que ver con el título? Dejar el mundo atrás. La protagonista, según cuentas es obstinada, ¿le dio poder a la mente y le tocó ver la realidad que quería ver? No la he visto, solo pregunto 🤔. Me parece interesante pero a la vez no jajaja

Si la vi, pero como dices se espera que pase algo y eso no llega entonces se llega a sentir aburrimiento, tampoco la repetiría.
El final te deja así como que tú sabes los que los personajes van a hacer porque ya consiguieron lo que necesitaban y termina 🤪.

La película llamó mi atención por el título y aunque tiene connotación claras, es verdad que empieza bien y termina flojo, pwrdi el interés al final y rescate lo positivo, por ejemplo, el posicionamiento del Internet en la vida de los menores.

Hay mucho detrás de esta película empezando porque fue producida por los Obama. Siempre se ha dicho, de hecho es una de sus teorías conspirativas más fuertes, que a lo mejor nos están contando algo que ellos solo saben, o alertando de algo que puede pasar.
Obviamente nada que ver jaja pero la película no me pareció mala. Yo la ví como una crítica social y ya está. No es buenísima pero es aceptable.
Ohh que datos tan interesante 😱, imaginate producida por un expresidente de los Estadoa Unidos, definitivamente tiene un mensaje oculto y nos dan pildoras de verdad para ir asimilando un futuro poco alentardor.
