Хоч я не сильно люблю драми, але переглянутий вчора ввечері кінофільм "Кит" навів на багато думок та асоціацій. У фільмі зображено життя пересічного американського вчителя, його побут, відносини з родиною та знайомими. Здавалося б, що тут такого, адже весь нормальний світ живе таким життям...

Але є один ньанс - герой фільму важить 270 кілограмів, веде відлюдькуватий спосіб життя, працює дистанційно через ноутбук і лише бажає, аби його життя і страждання пошвидше закінчились. Але ж з надмірним ожирінням можна боротись радикальними хірургічними засобами, подумаєте ви. Але не все так просто в цій історії, в яку ви можете зануритись на пару годин.

But obesity can be fought with radical surgical means, you might think. But not everything is so simple in this story, in which you can immerse yourself for a couple of hours.
Цей фільм наштовхнув мене на роздуми про те, скільки таких драматичних історій існує в реальному житті, буквально поруч з нами, можливо, навіть за сусідською стіною. А скільки таких доль очікує на людей, які сьогодні кладуть власне здоров'я на фронті російсько-української війни і лише в наших силах, об'єднавши щусилля держави та суспільства спробувати їм максимально
допомогти відчути, що вони потрібні, а їхня жертва не була марною.

This movie made me think about how many such dramatic stories exist in real life, literally right next to us, maybe even behind the neighbor's wall. And how many such fates await people who today risk their own health on the front of the Russian-Ukrainian war and it is only in our power, by combining the efforts of the state and society, to try for them as much as possible to help them feel that they are needed and that their sacrifice was not in vain.
