This was a movie I was expecting and it was something new to me, as I watch the movie the feelings were changing and there are a few reasons I don't give it a 7, but do not think this is a bad movie, it is worth watching although I don't know if this is Statham best work as some hype before the movie came out, in my opinion I think we are a bit over watching him kicking ass, to me The Beekeeper has a good message but it does feel like a John Wick movie, its a mess to rate this movie because I don't know if its because John Wick burn out close contact gun fights.
Queen Slayer was a term use within the movie, the movie starts with a teacher who gets scammed, after malware pop on her laptop asking her to call a number for support the guy at the Tech Support call center basically blank out her bank accounts over $2 Million, Adam Clay played by Jason Statham seek for revenge because this women has now kill herself after such shocking experience.

I'm part of that generation that saw online scams grew and expand, different tech made this possible, the first tech in my opinion that help this a lot was smart phones, latter on social media and chat software, not that all this tech is bad by design but makes communication so easy that scammers take advantage of it, no days its malware that always existed but not to the scale we have it today. On the scene above is Eloise Parker who just got a message that she needs to call tech support, on the other end the scammer who work for the company that planted the malware, the conversation goes around how she will loose her data if doesn't allow them to help her on the spot but the real reason is to get her password and clear out any bank account she has access to from her computer.
The entire scene looks like a satire so many viewers might see it just too fake but its actually not to far from reality, its just the flamboyant style they use to represent it that makes it look too fake, after all this movie is not based on any book or story. At first I was not OK with it, in fact there are many other scenes like this, I understand how this could discourage some viewers.

After they clear out Eloise accounts eventually she could not deal with the weight of this responsibility, sadly she takes her life, a bit rough scene if you ask me, suicide is never fun to watch, Adam was the first one to discover the body after visiting her, he was renting her barn for his Beekeeping operation and seconds latter Agent Verona Parker arrive, Eloise's daughter catching Adam next to her dead mother. You can tell her first though is that he did it but she was wrong, she latter on explains Adam how things happen, that her mother took her life because it was too much the remorse after they clear her bank accounts.

Adam belongs to a security agency called Beekeepers, they operate out of any jurisdictions, he was retired but this is personal, he is going full Beekeeper mode on the guys who did this. Beekeeper only job is to protect the Hive, that been the society, they even have green card to take out anyone on their way including the President himself.

Back to the scammers call center Adam start to kick ass, this is where we start to get the three minutes actions scenes to kick in some dopamine, its like the entire movie was a ride where the director goes full throttle from time to time trying to explain how scamming operations work, also exaggerating things.

Beekeeper cast has a good amount of starts, besides Statham there is the all time favorite Alfred, Mr. Jeremy Irons who is the president's son protector, not sure if his dad btw; Derek Danfoth who use dirty money to make her mother win the elections, money that came from scamming people that his mother knew nothing about, only Derek knew.
Well Jeremy Irons plays Wallace an ex CIA director, now semi retire but in charge of keeping Derek alive while his mother is the USA President. He knows what is a Beekeeper and knows that the chances he can keep Derek alive is close to zero. A lot of fighting an events start to happen trying to stop Adam, at this point the action starts to kick in hard and you will enjoy most of it if not all.

So you telling me they can use USD to buy political power? This is something that I know many will consider it dumb but its a movie, not attach to any realistic history, it is suppose to be entertaining, when I start watching it all I wanted was to watch Statham kick some ass, blow up a few cars and buildings, I even wanted him to die at the end.
Wallace try everything in his power to stop Adam but no luck on doing so, things get dramatic for Derek when the FBI explains her mother, the President whats going on and he was force to tell her the truth, he even took her as hostage and kill the FBI director to protect himself from Adam.
On my intro I told you this is a movie worth watching because of the action and the message within the movie, it is a good message, online scamming is hurting a lot of people actually after I finish the movie I thought, is there some FTX into this movie? dirty money, political power, Sam keeps lying his ass to get out of the situation, see where I'm going? but do not expect this movie to be a AAA+ action title, this is no Leon (1994) , its a movie with some fight action and a good message behind it, the problem I have with it is that many websites were talking about Beekeeper saying "Jason Statham best movie ever" and its not, it doesn't get to a solid 7, John Wick (2014) was a solid 7/10. Beekeeper does a good job at setting up an exaggerated example of how people get scam online and how bad things can turn when there is not return from that kind of looses, that's why I mention the FTX situation because a lot of people got hurt.
