Ordinary Angels is based on a true story that took place in 1994 in Louisville, Kentucky during a snowstorm, the movie is about Ed Schmitt a widower that is fighting for Lily’s his daughter who needs a liver transplant, during that time the community get together and raised an amount of $100,000 for Lily’s treatment and it was possible thanks to Sharon Steves a hairdresses that one day decided to find a sense of purpose in her life and found it by helping the Schmitt’s family, she was decided to help this family in their time of need. Through faith, everyday miracles and the kindness of ordinary people this story its develop as a true test of resilience of the human spirit.

Ordinary Angels was film in different locations through the United States and Canada such as Winnipeg and Albany, despite facing a delay in its release to avoid scheduling conflicts, production progressed smoothly driven by the excellent work of the cast and technical crew and for director Jon Gunn the film represents a labor of love that culminates in a touching story.

Hilary Swank this time brings her talent to the role of Sharon Steves, she is a two time Oscar winner for Best Actress with the movies Million Dollar Baby 2005 and Boys Don’t Cry 2000 she is a very authentic actress capable of playing deep characters and she proved it with her previous performances making her an excellent choice to represent the empathetic and compassionate Sharon Steves, who is not only kind to Ed and the girls but in a few scenes of the trailer you can tell the character, temper and determination this women had for not taking a NO for an answer.

Alan Ritchson known for his roles in both television and film, takes on the role of Ed Schmitt, Lily’s father who is in need of a liver transplant. Ritchson’s career began with the successful Warner Bros. series Smallville where he play the role of Aquaman. He went on to roles in projects such as Blue Mountain State and The Hunger Games franchise, with his talent transmitting deep emotions he was chosen to portray the resilient widower facing adversity, here probably where balance between the main two characters kick in, having Ritchson playing Ed as he is well known for been a big guy who kick doors down on most movies and TV series he is in but this time showing more of his acting skills as he has to put out more feelings playing a carrying dad who will do anything to keep his girls safe, in this case Michelle who is suffering from a rare decease.

Nancy Travis goes as Virginia, Travis is known for her roles in films like Three Men and a Baby and So I Married an Axe Murderer bringing charm and charisma to her performances.

Tamala Jones plays Rose, Jones has worked in films such as Booty Call and the series Castle which has made her more recognized.

The director is Jon Gunn he is so talented by bringing touching stories to life on the big screen he leans more for the Christian genre and independent projects although he has directed a variety of movies like dramas, comedies and documentaries all of them have always distinguish by their focus on faith, Gunn’s path as director began with his directorial debut in the 2005 drama Like Dandelion Dust an adaptation of Karen Kingsbury’s novel this propelled Gunn’s career and he decided to continue on the independent movie circuit putting his mark by addressing sensitive topics with grace and authenticity.

There was a early screening of this movie and some early reviews have come up, as usual now days with so much information online it seem that the movie is not 110% accurate with the story although I don't think this is a movie that should be criticize by how accurate it is as long as the message and facts stay true, this is a very positive story that could inspire people, those who are trying to safe their loves one and also give hope to little kids who sadly been suffering as Michelle on the movie, so yes, probably part of the movie has been turn too Hollywood to keep up the drama but I would not care.
