ECHO (2024) - Tuklo - Episode 3 - RECAP

If anything is going to safe this series is the action scenes and Maya herself because the villains wont be and this time it really felt they took them out of a guffy story, if it wasn't for all the blood and fist over fist fight it would a very bad episode, makes me sad because I had way higher expectations but when all the fighting starts you will at least get a few minutes of inner peace thinking damn its good but when everything is over it feels like it was all a fugazy, a dream, a meme. I know some times I can be a bit extremist going to the end of both sides setting the bar too high and some other times saying well at least they try and probably that's what all this Super Hero movies and TV series are fine its just that Marvel has setup the bar too damn high to keep producing better and better content and it has nothing to do with ""THE WOKE"" or ""THE MESSAGE"" because I'm sure if you get a kid to watch some of this TV Series they might tell you it was fun and that's it because they looking for it to be just fun not to even make sense, some times that's what the only thing we should care about all this content, have a good time, if you have your values set right as an adult there is no movement, or cult, or whatever it is that can ruin things for you.

That been said, ECHO (2024) IS NOT BAD, the episode was fucking fun and they villains were silly as fuck I didn't like them, neither the part they rush things out but I did like the scene when finally Maya has a face to face with Bonnie to say whats up and clear things out, same goes for Maya and her grand father and at the end happens something I was expecting but not so soon, still a fun episode, I would give it a 7/10, probably is on the low 7 but still a 7 for me.

As I knew before the series premier it is all about exposing more the Native American Culture and their history, every episode is going to me based at first on Mayas ancestors, first was Chafa, then Lowak and now its the time of Tuklo, a warrior women who was born during the times that women were not allow to be fighters but she had the spirit of a warrior, was great at shooting and there was a horsemen police that tribes had established called the Lighthorsemen, her father was part of them and even though he train her well he was against the idea of Tuklo been part of them until one day she proof him wrong saving them from a trap set by some criminals they were after, theory is that there are those born to be chosen ones like Chafa, Lowak, Tuklo and now Maya who eventually get the powers of their ancestors, problem with Maya is that she is kinda ona gray area, not really part of her community for now and playing on the wrong side.

Now comes the guffy part, while Maya was wondering around the house lake since her uncle Henry ask her to lay low until he figure things out, Maya is trying to figure out whats her next step after she blew up Kingpin's ware house and how this is going to unfold probably a bit of splash back, she gets kidnap by Vickie and his two girlfriends? I don't know from where this two other came out, ECHO does have it's super hero side because Maya has power but its more of a regular mortals series with one person with super powers the rest is just regular people including Dare Devil, the guy has not super powers other than great fighting skills and super hearing because he is deaf not because ther is something extra special about his hearing he just happen to develop it better than others.

There are some scenes from Chula that I skip since I wanted to concentrate more into the part how Maya gets caught, by accident Bonnie does too along with their uncle Henry, as I mention it feels silly that Maya cant get out there by just busting this three ass or taking their weapons but as we saw on the first episode she is still on that learning process of how to be a bad ass, she is not there yet to disarm people on the spot and then kick their ass.

Bonnie and Maya did have their moment to talk about everything that has gone down so far, since they separate, when Maya's father died, all the text messages, letters, emails that Bonnie send her but not even a word back, Maya is not a bad person she is confuse, doesn't really know what she wants and is full of anger thats why we will see her take stupid desicions from here and there besides she is a bad ass and that makes things worst because then she figures out she can get out alive of most situations.

After many years Maya and Bonnie see each other once again, its here when Maya figures out she better get out of the because they coming for her, Bonnie let her know Vickie was talking about someone paying for Maya, remember Maya is deaf; here is when Maya had to figure out how to trick the fat chick who was guarding the door, she came up with some hand made gun that shoots bearings and use it to get out of there.

Well as expected Kingpin goons got to town and meet with Zane at the Roller Skates where he had Maya, Bonnie and Henry just that they never though Maya would escape that easy, comes in Zane in charge of Kingpin goon squad and kills him for making him loose time and smell something was out of place, besides Henry did told Vickie they were not going to pay him and kill him after the deal was done, that's just how things work when a civilian tries to take advantage of a gangster.

It was here when the episodes starts to pick up because as I mention the entire part when Vickie takes Maya and Henry as hostages felt stupid since this two other girls and Vickie were stupid. Maya does got herself out and now its after Zane's guys, taking them down one by one, making comparison of how on the first part of the episode Tuklo learn how to shoot and throw things, Maya can take a punch to the face and its impressive her fighting skills something that is not yet clear is WHAT ARE HER POWERS!! she does have certain super human strength when she needs it like on the previous episode when her leg got stuck but other than that nothing else special, when I say special is super human style although on this series no need so far, she took down almost everyone on Zane's squad, the scene is very bloody and violent, love it.

Maya does have a weak side and that is family, Zane got a hold to Bonnie so Maya had to stop and give up, now Zane is ready to take action and put a bullet on Maya, Henry and Bonnie not that he has to on each but he is not leaving witnesses, that moment when they were on their knees ready to be killed, Zane got a call, someone told him to stop and let them go.

Maya and Henry were looking at each other thinking who could have given that order, Henry knew there was only one person who could, Kingpin; Maya did shoot him in the face but hey the guy has a big head, Henry is now willing to help Maya because there is no way back, they already attempt to kill Maya and him, well even Bonnie was onboard on that job, Maya goes back to her parents old house and there he was, waiting for her, Kingpin himself in the flesh, walking and talking the most impressive part, Maya look mad when they saw each other and afraid at first.

Even with all the low score reviews I get this series doesn't even get to 8/10 but at least is a basic 7/10, I understand how some might feel there should be more to it but it is what it is, an entertaining series to kill an hour on every episode while we keep exploring Maya's journey, there is a lot to happen because she is still into town, we havent seen Dare Devil anymore and we still not sure when and how she got with Kingpin since little so fit that entire story into two episodes is going to be difficult to accomplish, I'm still going to watch and post about the two episodes left, there still good things about each episode and not everything is bad as people say online.
