Abigail (2024) : One Night Close Doors With This Little Monster
The story follows Abigail a beautiful young girl who appears to be rehearsing her dance, she is a ballerina, after that she is took by her chauffeur to her house, which result is a mansion, Abigail is the daughter of a wealthy man. She is leave at her house and she lock in her room. The scene change and appeared a man driven a group of people to the mansion where Abigail is. The man name is Lambert and is the one that in representation of his client hired the group of criminals, they have the mission of kidnap and hold Abigail in the mansion for 24hrs, the criminal accept the job and demand $50 million for the ransom, Lambert told them that if they finish the job they will received the money and left, leaving the kidnappers behind. The criminals gather at the mansion of their mysterious leader, where they must adhere to certain rules to avoid disrupting the plan. Abigail is held captive in one of the mansion’s rooms, handcuffed to a bed. One of the female criminals engages in conversation with her and felt bad to see that young girl with the handcuff but Abigail just look at her and told her “I’m sorry for what’s about to happen.” After those were words pronounce by Abigail, the doors and windows of the mansion begin to move and close seemingly by themselves, as if something paranormal is occurring, leaving the kidnappers trapped. Since that moment everything change, Abigail wasn’t anymore a tiny, helpless and beauty ballerina, now she look more like a demon, with a huge strength, with a blood lust. Now the hunters are the one that are being hunt and they need to create a plan not to win the money, they a plan to survive from whatever Abigail is. They truly believe she is a vampire and try to kill her in many ways but they realize that she is also immortal because she received a gunshot in her head still alive. This situation is just a game for Abigail but a race against the clock for the kidnappers that are fighting to reach for survive.
This movie was directed by directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin anbd Tyler Gillett, a team that has worked in many horror movies and now bring a new story full of plot twist and great performances. Leading the cast is Alisha Weir as Abigail and Melissa Barrera known for her role in Scream. The movie will premiered on April 19th, in theaters.

What to Expect: An Exciting Horror Experience
The world of Abigail is a roller coaster of emotions, full of plot twist and with a beautiful ballerina who ends up being the villain. In order to follow the pace of the movie, the audience needs to remain in theirs seats to get the answer of many questions such as, who is the father of Abigail? what is Abigail? and the most important question, there is going to be any survivor?. With a dark atmosphere that keep the suspense and tension through the entire movie,also with scenes that will make you scream like watch her hunting every single person in the mansion, ripping them and other scenes that could make laugh like she flying or dancing with a dead body, Abigail is one of those movies that wants to be recognized as the best horror film of 2024 and probably with the great direction and the committed cast can achieve that distinction.

Leading the cast is Alisha Weir, who plays the mail character of Abigail who is an Irish singer, dancer, and child actress, who began her career in theater, Weir might be most known for her role as Matilda Wormwood in the production Matilda: The Musical, she also made her big screen debut in 2018 with the thriller Don’t Leave Home, showcasing her versatility and range as an actress.
Melissa Barrera takes on the role of Joey in Abigail, a Mexican actress, started her career in Mexican telenovelas such as Siempre Tuya Acapulco (2013), Tanto Amor (2015), and the Netflix series Club de Cuervos (2017) but probably mostly known for her international recognition that came with her role as Sam Carpenter in the Scream franchise, further solidifying her status as a rising talent in the horror genre.
Kathryn Newton joins the cast as Sammy, Newton is known for her roles in various TV series, such as Louise Brooks in Gary Unmarried (2008) and the older version of Claire Novak in Supernatural but the one I might remember the most was her performance in Paranormal Activity 4 that based on small search that I made won her the Young Artist Award for Best Leading Young Actress in a Feature Film, also been known for playing Cassie Lang in Ant Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, demonstrating not the best movie to been known for based on its rating but its a Marvel movie after all.
Giancarlo Esposito, who now days is playing the role of Parish on the TV series with the same name, this time plays Lambert in Abigail, but he is best known for his role as Gustavo Fring in on of the most famous TV series ever Breaking Bad and its sequel, Better Call Saul, Esposito has an extensive experience and commanding presence bring complexity to the character of Lambert.

The filming of Abigail was a partnership between directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, who has demonstrated to have a great synergy creating horror stories, both directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin anbd Tyler Gillett are the co-creators of Radio Silence, a film and television production company founded in 2011. Both directors are worked alongside in many different projects, much of them horror movies such as Devil Due 2014, Ready or Not 2019, Scream 2022, Southbound 2015 and V/H/S 2012. They are creating a good environment where both can let their imagination flow without restriction and in synergy. Now they are bringing the movie Abigail, their new horror movie with a lot of plot twist and adventure where until the end the audience will search who is going to survive.

The creation of Abigail came from the idea of developing a monster thriller movie for Universal Pictures. The director wanted to do a reboot of the 1936 Universal Classic Monsters movie Dracula’s Daughter. They also stop the filming of Scream V just to focus on this project. The development of the movie started on April 2023 and at the same month was hired almost all the cast and the last member of the cast was included on June, completed the cast the filming began that same month in Dublin, Ireland. The cast and staff worked without hesitation, completing the filming of December 2023. At the end of the project the direction, production staff and the cast felt happy because the gave everything of themselves to perform deliver a great horror movie.
Abigail is one of those horror movies that audience will totally enjoy for its twisted ideas and the great performances that the cast gave to deliver a good movie. Directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett known for their expertise in the horror field in the cinema industry are giving to the audience the opportunity to meet a new monsters, a one that was really unexpected for the idea that look like a fragile and precious girl and who is a ballerina dancer, a normal girl with a normal passion but with a wealthy family. Was really fascination the twist in the plot of 6 kidnappers that think their job is like only babysit Abigail in her luxury mansion but at the end result that they are the one that must take care from her. Absolutely a movie that brings a fresh view for the horror movies and that audience will need to stay sit to confirm if any one of them survive and also discover what is Abigail?.
