Sonic The Hedgehog 3... Not their best😔

Due to my insanely newly overcooked schedule, this movie of a little over 90 mins took me about 3 days to finish.
The hype was there about the show, my sister downloaded it into my laptop and that Sunday morning I was looking for a little movie thus I started it, and I have to say this is the first show that indeed shifted my perspective of it mid show.

Plot

Sonic, Knuckles and Tails team up again to face a new enemy. A hedgehog called Shadow. Even after their team up, they find that they're outmatched in every single way.
So they have to make an unlikely alliance to stop Shadows and save the world.

When I started this show I had no expectations to be honest.
I liked Sonic 1 and Sonic 2, I was a bit curious of what they'll do when introducing shadow.
I'm a fan of the Sonic Universe and love all their alien creatures (mole, fox, porcupine, etc) with their different powers.
Yet I'd have to admit that during the movie I was a bit disappointed.

The plot was repetitive and story was slow. This is something that didn't happen in Sonic 1&2.
The past series didn't have me skipping any scenes, didn't have me looking at how many minutes left.
The movie reached it's climax at the first 40 minutes, so what was the remaining 1 hour for?

Another thing I noted was how many Sonic jokes starters to miss. He's meant to be a witty amusing character just like Spiderman.
One that makes you laugh as he saves the day, so why aren't I laughing?.

If anything was good to say about this show, I guess I'd say this had a bit more emotional depth than the others.
They did a great job in making Shadow's story as sad as possible, and I did feel a bit of emotion for Dr Robotnik at the end, but after that I was back to being bored, uninterested and rather frustrated.

It seems Sega is trying to introduce all the heroes in the Sonic Verse and I'm up for that idea cause they all have a wonderful story and influences Sonic's story too.
But if they're all going to be a let down like this, then it'd be best if they just rest at Sonic 3.
Yet we've already scene a scene at the ending that hints at another addituon to the franchise so I guess we'd see what Sonic 4 has to hold.

This movie was a 6/10 for me and this is just because I'm being generous. I feel all Sonic movies should take a hint from Sonic's Catchphrase "Let's go Fast!"
