Children of evil (Deca zla) - The most watched series in the region this week on HBO

Hello hivers!
Today I bring you a review of a series that I recently watched and that delighted me.

The series Children of Evil is based on the novel of the same name by Miodrag Majić, a distinguished judge of the Appellate Court in Belgrade. The novel was published in 2019 and right from the start it absolutely deservedly won the hearts of the audience, since it was read by over 30,000 people, with a record circulation.

The series has been available on the HBO streaming platform since November 2 this year, and this is also the first Serbian series to be included in this repertoire. The series follows the search for the truth by the renowned Belgrade lawyer Nikola Bobić (Radovan Vujović), who in a whirlwind of lies, corruption and revenge embarks on a search for the truth and the light at the end of the tunnel. The series begins with the murder of opposition politician Radovan Kovač (Dejan Cicmilović), which takes place just before the elections. Due to the closeness of the election, the government is trying in every way to speed up the proceedings, for which the main suspect is Kovač's bodyguard, Dragan Pažin (Peđa Marjanović).

However, if everything is as it seems at the beginning, if it is a current political murder or if the roots of everything, more precisely the roots of evil are much deeper, you will see if you follow this very dynamic and interesting series to the end. The whole story involves a multitude of characters, all of whom are presented at a very high level, among which the aforementioned masterful Radovan Vujović leads the way, in the supporting role, who gives the character of Bobić a note of firmness, quickness and determination, and at the same time a hidden vulnerability.

Definitely, this story opens the door to many thoughts, makes the viewer, as well as the reader of the book based on which the series was created, to wonder what is the cause of that hatred to which we are all exposed, willy-nilly, from time to time, makes a person wonder and reconsider what we that is missing so that there is more understanding between people in general and it shows us that we should always try to be a good person, because at the end of the day, we are all human, with all our virtues and flaws, regardless of skin color, nationality or religion belonging. 🙂

It draws our attention to the importance of respect for differences and empathy between people and emphasizes the fact that one should simply be human. In this production, the main protagonist Bobić, like all actors, is subject to criticism, since he also uses corruption to get to some sources of information. Of course, people sometimes and too often need to be reminded that this is a fictional story, but one that has a task, like any quality work of art, and in this case I'm talking about the book and the series as such, to ennoble the reader, i.e. the viewer and that after reading the book , i.e. the watched series comes out with some new conclusions and an even more developed personality.

Definitely, I highly recommend watching this series, which is currently available on the HBO platform. The series is dynamic, keeps the attention and gives a great dose of suspense and desire to watch the next episode, and on top of all that, it sends an impressive message.

All in all, a series that brought certain, described novelties to our serial climate and which will surely keep you riveted to the screen and with which you may even spend the whole night binging it to the end.
