The break from work gave me the chance to watch some movies I have had on my phone for a while. Looking through my list, I decided to go for a series titled;

About The Movie

The movie tells the story of Walter White, a chemistry teacher who uses his chemical knowledge to make illicit drugs called "methamphetamine"
(other names for these drugs are crystal meth, crystal glass, etc). This drug is very addictive and also has a lot of side effects on its users.

At first, I felt pity for him. An underpaid teacher who was overqualified for the job he was doing. He was teased and mocked by almost everyone around him. His students, former business partners, family, and others. To add salt to injury, he was diagnosed with cancer. I mean, I thought, how much can a person take?

He transitions from an ordinary school teacher to a meth cook and fully lives up to his alter ego (Heisenberg) by becoming a drug lord, kingpin, and murderer.

Though at a point where he felt he had had enough after making millions that could last him and his family 10 lifetimes, he decided to get out of the game.

But then will he be able to leave? I mean what was he expecting? Live happily ever after with his family after all he did? All those people he killed? What does his product do to people?

One thing I didn't like about the movie was the death of Hank Schrader. For a man who spent his whole life pursuing Heisenberg, trying to know the identity of the man, getting shot at, suspended, and many more, he didn't deserve to die at all.

Hank's death in the movie is one thing I didn't like at all. He had invested so much of this time and reputation to have to end off like that.

I guess it's still good that Hank was able to solve the mystery of who Heisenberg was before his death even though the news broke him like never before. I love this scene where he confronts Heinseberg.

Another thing I didn't like is who most of Heinsberg's money went to. The money went to another monster/drug dealer, even though they didn't end up spending it if you know what I mean but couldn't it have been seized by the authorities and probably used to take drug users off the streets, sent to rehab, and given a new life?

But then who is to guarantee that the money would be put to good use? Everyone is greedy, some more than others. Who is to say those in authority won't also stack it up in their attic or under their beds?

What I learned from the movie

Sometimes we feel like our best isn't enough. Some people go into depression seeing others do well for themselves.

There is no doubt that we all want money, we all want to be able to pay off our bills and be financially stable and sufficient but the difference between people is that while people want to live a simple, others want to live luxuriously.

After first, all Heisenberg needed was $737,000 to leave his family after his death which would last them for about 10 years or thereabout. But even after making millions, he still wants more which begs the question "How much is needed?" How much is enough?

What's the point of making so much money without being able to spend it and end up hiding it under the bed, in the attic, or renting houses just to keep money? Because it was all acquired illegally.

This movie was a confirmation that "the evil that men do catches up with them", no matter how long.

It also taught me that, In our race in search of wealth, we should always resist no matter what, the temptation of seeking wealth through illegal means. It might be very tempting but nothing good comes out of illegal means of getting money, something you have to destroy others to get and kill others to acquire.

For sure, it might buy you overpriced shoes, clothes, bags, and many more. Even to help you fund your luxurious lifestyle but one thing I am damn sure that it wouldn't buy you is Immortality. So I ask To what end?

At first, people try so hard to justify their reasons for going to crime but the truth is, they have always wanted it. All they needed was the push to start.

If you have yet to see this movie, then you've got to be kidding me. Add it to your watchlist right now and take your time to watch all 62 episodes. It is not only entertaining, and thrilling but also educational for me.
