The Childe (2023) My Review: Another Pro version of "John Wick".

For those who like films whose results are difficult to predict, then The Childe is the film for you. Watching this film to the end will make you ask who the bad character is.

As a dark noir film, you are not only presented with tension but there is also comedy shown by the main characters. Namely, a Nobleman who has an unpredictable character, sometimes cruel and sometimes also funny.

Played by actor Kim Seon Ho. To me, Nobleman is like a fusion of the Joker "Batman", and John Wick. But for you, it could be a different view after seeing the film.

Broadly speaking, this film tells of a child born to a Korean father and a Filipino mother. Because of his poverty, he had to struggle to find medical expenses for his mother who was seriously ill. His struggle to find his father in South Korea led him into a mystery.

Marco Han (Kang Tae Ju) is a child who grew up in poverty. He then found out that the father who had abandoned him since childhood was a rich man today. His efforts to meet his father in South Korea, made him experience many strange events. Marco Han, who is very naive because of poverty, now has to rack his brain to find out who is a friend and who is an enemy.

For those who have watched this film, two hours is not enough time to know who the Nobleman is. Indeed, the most unique character in this film is a handsome, neat, smart, scary, and sadistic young man. Until the end of the film, it is not even known who the Nobleman's real name is. But the combination of his role with Marco Han is very harmonious and able to lead us to follow the drama's plot from beginning to end. Even if you don't follow every detail, you have to watch it over and over to get the hang of it.

Apart from the two characters previously mentioned, not many other characters are introduced in this film. so you can easily recognize the character. Kang Woo Kim as Director Han, Go Ara as Yun-Ju. But following this film, you will be brought to the conflict around wealth, betrayal, and greed.

Many scenes will impress in your memory. For example, how cruelty and humor can come together when Nobleman Kills All the Bodyguards at Marco's Father's Headquarters. This scene reminds me of John Wick who can kill anyone around him without getting hurt. Fighting styles are brutal and tense at the same time. Also, the chase scene in Marco Han's escape who got lost in the new country. But will always remember how Nobleman's smile, which implies horror after killing many people.

And finding an unexpected ending is something that will also make an impression on your memory. After arriving at the final minutes of the film, you will assemble all the events that you saw at the beginning. and discovers that a Nobleman is the key to everything that happened. An exciting twist and will make you feel the need for a sequel to this film. And it seems that the Post-credits scene implies that the Nobleman's adventure will likely continue.

So at the end of my writing, I can give you the following comments:
Despite the fact that my imagination is at the beginning of the film, it will be similar to watching a Korean drama series. But after 2 hours of getting carried away, the conclusion is a Great story. Great Actors. Worth watching.
