Blue Beetle (HBO movie review)

Saludos Hivers, feliz domingo para todos. Hoy mi ciudad a amanecido muy fría, incluso se supone que debería estar durmiendo, pero la verdad es que el frío no me ha dejado, así que me levanté tipo 6:00am a hacer algunas cosas y por supuesto aprovechar para hacer contenido.

La semana pasada aprovechando que aún tengo la cuenta de HBO, quise ver una película que tenía pendiente sobre un nuevo superhéroe que ha sido algo criticado en las redes sociales y que pues me ha dado bastante curiosidad.

No quise ver tráiler ni ningún avance, quería estar completamente a la expectativa, suelo hacer esto con casi todas las tramas de ciencia y ficción cuyo agregado son los héroes. Así que lo vi haciendo caso omiso a la baja producción o cliché de la que tanto hablan por allí.

Y debo decir que fue lo mejor que hice porque lo he disfrutado. Si bien los efectos especiales no son lo mejor del mundo ni nada comprada a Marvel, creo que tener a este superhéroe dentro de la lista de muchos otros no está nada mal, sobre todo porque tiene ese encanto latino.

! [English Text] Greetings Hivers, happy Sunday to all. Today my city has dawned very cold, even I'm supposed to be sleeping, but the truth is that the cold has not left me, so I got up about 6:00am to do some things and of course take advantage to make content.


Last week, taking advantage of the fact that I still have the HBO account, I wanted to watch a movie I had pending about a new superhero that has been somewhat criticized in social networks and that has made me quite curious.


I didn't want to see a trailer or any preview, I wanted to be completely in expectation, I usually do this with almost all science and fiction plots whose addition are the heroes. So I watched it ignoring the low production or cliché they talk so much about out there.


And I must say it was the best thing I did because I enjoyed it. While the special effects are not the best in the world or anything bought from Marvel, I think having this superhero in the list of many others is not bad at all, especially because it has that Latin charm.

Una de las primeras cosas que me gustó, fue sentirme identificado con el protagonista, sobre todo por el hecho de que era un recién graduado con pocas oportunidades de obtener trabajo, algo que pues, a mí me ha estado pasando y no por falta de conocimiento ni experiencia, simplemente son cosas que pasan en la vida.

La cosa es que para suerte de él y espero que para la mía también hahaha, obtiene a mi parecer el mejor trabajo del mundo, así que podríamos decir que lo mejor se hace esperar así que no hay que desesperar.

La verdad es que no busque ningun tipo de fuentes antes de hacer esta reseña tampoco, pero estoy casi seguro que tanto el protagonista como su familia son mexicanos, tal vez no en el mundo real pero si como roles dentro de la trama. Y es una cosa que me ha encantado porque le han dado ese toque picante y atrevido en el buen sentido, a los diálogos y escenas que requieren esa chispa para que sean más entretenidas.

Así que por supuesto, dentro de la misma trama hay un poco de comedia, bastante sana a mi parecer pero que no deja de ser gracioso. Yo en lo particular me rei muchísimo con la familia, que por cierto todos son claves dentro de esta historia porque también se enfocan en los valores y el hecho de lo que es una familia real.

[English Text] One of the first things I liked, was to feel identified with the protagonist, especially for the fact that he was a recent graduate with few opportunities to get a job, something that has been happening to me and not for lack of knowledge or experience, just things that happen in life.


The thing is that luckily for him and hopefully for me too hahaha, he got in my opinion the best job in the world, so we could say that the best is waiting for the best so do not despair.


The truth is that I didn't look for any kind of sources before making this review either, but I'm almost sure that both the main character and his family are Mexican, maybe not in the real world but as roles within the plot. And that's one thing I loved because they have given that spicy and daring touch in a good way, to the dialogues and scenes that require that spark to make them more entertaining.


So of course, within the same plot there is a bit of comedy, quite healthy in my opinion but still funny. I in particular laughed a lot with the family, which by the way are all key in this story because they also focus on the values and the fact of what a real family is.

En cuanto al agregado de ficción, pensé que el escarabajo azul era algún tipo de objeto mágico que le daba poderes a quien lo tuviese en sus manos. Sin embargo hacen énfasis a qué es un arma que escoge a quien brindarle sus poderes.

A pesar de que me ha hecho reír un poco la forma en que este escarabajo se apodera del cuerpo de alguien para fusionarse, la verdad es que me pareció algo grotesco por no decir asqueroso cómo queda implantado en la espalda, algo así me haría caminar jorobado o al menos no querría andar sin varias camisas puestas para que no se noté tanto.

Como casi siempre, el hecho de tener un objeto tan poderoso como ese se presta para que en malas manos se convierta en un arma para acabar con muchas vidas incluyendo la de muchos inocentes, así que al principio el objetivo para este objeto era no solo extraerlo de una gran roca, también descifrar y pasar el código fuente a trajes ensamblados que sirvan para un uso militar.

Claro por una parte es bueno tener mayor defensa, pero era obvio que el objetivo más allá de hacer riquezas era tener la opción de poder tener todo a costa incluso de la muerte de personas que se pudieran oponer.

! [English Text] As for the fictional addition, I thought the blue scarab was some kind of magical object that gave powers to whoever held it. However, they emphasize that it is a weapon that chooses who to give its powers to.


Although it made me laugh a little at the way this beetle takes over someone's body to fuse, the truth is that I found it somewhat grotesque, not to say disgusting how it is implanted in the back, something like that would make me walk hunchbacked or at least I wouldn't want to walk without several shirts on so it wouldn't be so noticeable.


As almost always, the fact of having an object as powerful as that lends itself in the wrong hands to become a weapon to end many lives including that of many innocents, so at first the goal for this object was not only to extract it from a large rock, but also to decipher and pass the source code to assembled suits that serve for military use.


Of course on the one hand it is good to have more defense, but it was obvious that the goal beyond making wealth was to have the option to be able to have everything at the cost even of the death of people who might oppose.

Sin embargo, todo cambia cuando cae en la mano de este joven por cuestión extraordinaria y pues por curiosidad y la de su familia hacen que este escarabajo se active y fusione con su cuerpo.

De este modo se convierte en algún tipo de droide con la capacidad de crear todo tipo de arma que pudiera imaginarse y con una defensa casi ilimitada. Pero a su vez, tanto él como su familia se convierten en el blanco de una magnate que hará lo que sea para que le devuelvan el escarabajo.

Aquí hacen énfasis en la responsabilidad que tiene una persona al obtener un nuevo poder que puede cambiar el mundo, también el hecho de que tus decisiones puedes ser útiles o no en ciertas situaciones. Hacen también una relación de lo que es una familia con valores que está dispuesta a ayudar siempre en contra de una familia que solo vela por intereses individuales.

Hay un toque de romance también bastante suave pero bonito a mi parecer, pero más me dio gusto ese enfoque cálido familiar que le dieron a casi toda la historia, era como si casa uno fuese protagonista de la película cosa que me ha encantado mucho.

A mí parecer no es la mejor película de héroes en cuanto a producción, pero tampoco debo decir que es mala en lo absoluto, hay muchas cosas rescatables e interesantes.

In this way he becomes some kind of droid with the ability to create every kind of weapon imaginable and with an almost unlimited defense. But in turn, both he and his family become the target of a female tycoon who will do anything to get the scarab back.


Here they emphasize the responsibility a person has in obtaining a new power that can change the world, also the fact that your decisions can be useful or not in certain situations. They also make a relationship of what is a family with values that is always willing to help against a family that only looks after individual interests.


There is also a touch of romance, also quite soft but nice in my opinion, but I liked the warm family approach they gave to almost the entire story, it was as if each one was the protagonist of the film, which I loved a lot.


In my opinion it is not the best hero movie in terms of production, but I must say that it is not bad at all, there are many interesting and redeemable things.
