The Nice Guys (2016) review: this is the funniest movie ever for some reason.

A couple of years ago I saw "The Nice Guys" for the first time and although I remember that it was quite a fun experience for me, I feel like I wasn't able to enjoy it as much as the other people I saw on the internet.
With the international premiere of Greta Gerwig's Barbie (which will have Ryan Gosling co-starring in the role of Ken alongside Margot Robbie) getting closer, I think it's a good time to get into one of the best roles in the world. Canadian actor, especially considering the comedic elements that plagued this riveting Shane Black film.
What I didn't expect when revisiting Nice Guys is that not only was I looking at a movie that blended drama, action, and comedy organically, but I genuinely consider it one of the funniest movies I've seen in a long time. , a logical consequence of having a quality script, two protagonists with a lot of chemistry, as well as a refreshing and entertaining premise that uses Los Angeles from the 70s as the setting for a crazy crime that we will unravel together with two detectives who can barely work together.
For me the key to the nice guys is in the use of familiar elements that are deconstructed and presented in an ingenious way: The dynamics of a couple of men who can't stand each other but are forced to work as a team, the sequences of persecutions and shootings, or the very collection of clues and testimonies.
Ironically, this film's ability to not take itself seriously ends up filling it with a kind of "realism" that is difficult to describe, where it is easy to identify with the internal conflicts of its characters as we enjoy everything good and bad. What's happening to them.
I regret that this film does not receive a little more appreciation in the mainstream public, considering how well synthesized the story is and the way in which it clearly pays homage to filmmakers like the Cohen brothers, Tarantino or Martin Scorsese.
Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe do a terrific job as Holland March and Jackson Heally (respectively), and the same could be said for the entire supporting cast. We have drama, humor, action, slapstick and a couple of dialogues capable of making us fall into a brief existential crisis.

Hace un par de años vi "The Nice Guys" por primera vez y aunque recuerdo que fue una experiencia bastante divertida para mi, siento que no fui capaz de disfrutarla tanto como la demás gente que veia en internet.
Teniendo cada vez más cerca el estreno internacional de Greta Gerwig's Barbie (La cual tendrá a Ryan Gosling de co-protagonista en el rol de Ken al lado de Margot Robbie), creo que es un buen momento para adentrarse en uno de los mejores roles del actor canadiense, especialmente considerando los elementos de comedia que plagaron esta fascinante obra de Shane Black.
Lo que no esperaba al momento de revisitar Nice Guys es que no solo me encontraba ante una pelicula que entremezclaba el drama, la accion y la comedia de forma organica, sino que la considero genuinamente una de las películas mas graciosas que he visto en mucho tiempo, una consecuencia lógica de tener un guión de calidad, dos protagonistas con muchisima quimica, así como una premisa refrescante y entretenida que utiliza a Los Angeles de los años 70s como escenario para un crimen alocado que iremos desentrañando junto a dos detectives que apenas pueden convivir.
Para mi la clave de the nice guys esta en el uso de elementos familiares que se deconstruyen y se presentan en una forma ingeniosa: La dinamica de un par de hombres que no se soportan entre si pero se ven obligados a a trabajar en equipo, las secuencias de persecuciones y tiroteos, o la mismisima recolección de pistas y testimonios.
Irónicamente, la capacidad de esta película para no tomarse en serio asi misma termina llenandola de una suerte de "realismo" dificil de describrir, en donde es dacil sentirse identificado con los conflictos internos de sus personajes a medida que disfrutamos con todo lo bueno y malo que les sucede.
Lamento que esta película no reciba un poco de mas apreciación en el público mainstream, considerando lo bien sintetizada que esta la hustoria y la forma en la que claramente se rinde homenaje a cineastas como los hermanos Cohen, Tarantino o Martin Scorsese.
Ryan Gosling y Russell Crowe hacen un trabajo estupendo como Holland March y Jackson Heally (Respectivamente), y lo mismo podriamos decir de todo el cast secundario. Tenemos drama, humor, accion, slapstick y un par de diálogos capaces de hacernos caer en una breve crisis existencial.

Si también me parece extraño ver una película así, donde haya drama, acción y comedia. Si me gustan las películas de acción y drama, me llegan mucho. Te tendré que ver The Nice Guys, para tener una idea sobre ella, pero por lo que mencionas, vale la pena verla. Anotada.

Me he visto un poco de lo que hace Ryan Gosling últimamente, no cabe duda que llena de cierta manera los ambientes de una película. Esta película se ve fenomenal, no le había tomando importancia las veces que me la conseguí buscando películas para ver pero ahora que veo tu opinión, voy a echarle un ojo tal vez está misma noche. Offbeat and quirky. I also really enjoyed this.
I really loved that above the film. An unlikely teamup that learns to appreciate the value in each other and rely on each other. That's what I think of the most about this film. I always forget that amidst their relationship they are trying to save someone which ends up being a really twisted mystery. It turns very serious at the end leading to some unexpected life/death situations that (as a viewer) you're probably not ready for. I mean, the film gets dark fast. It's almost jarring. If you don't know it's coming, I can imagine it makes you uncomfortable as a viewer. It's kind of like that thrill ride when you slowly reach the top of a coaster and then for a brief minute, you are really hanging on not knowing what's going to happen. Great film. So much to say about it.

Excelente película. Me encantó el personaje de Ryan Gosling y como es el completo opuesto de Russell Crowe. Aparte del hecho de que su hija sea su chofer, una de mis escenas favoritas es la reacción de Holland al encontrarse con un cadáver en la fiesta. A mi parecer, una de las mejores comedias de los últimos años.
