Fantastic Four Official Casting Announcement is Here
Marvel fans got a special treat for Valentine's Day, the official casting for Fantastic Four, now officially a Marvel property. I am not sure how I feel about some of the casting choices, but I am excited to see how this movie will turn out.
It's not that these are not great actors, I am just not sure if they fit the role. Pedro Pascal is Reed Richards a.k.a. Mister Fantastic. I love Pascal. That's the problem, I think that he is too likable for this character. It's hard to imagine him playing the cold and calculating genius. Vanessa Kirby will play Sue Storm a.k.a. Invisible Woman. Kirby seems to me as the opposite problem, she feels too cold for this role, I don't see her playing the abandoned wife. Joseph Quinn will play her brother, Johnny Storm a.k.a. the Human Torch. Quinn stole our hearts as Eddie in Stranger Things and this is his reward. Ebon Moss-Bachrach will play Ben Grimm a.k.a. The Thing. At least this time Marvel choose an actor of Jewish descent to play a Jewish character. Too bad they couldn't just find a Jewish actor, it's not like they aren't any in Hollywood. All in all I am curious to see how this cast will interact as a team.
The poster looks very fun and warm although it is a cartoon version of a poster. And it is a very happy family image, bringing back the feeling of the Fantastic Four being Marvel's first family. A feeling that we only got in the comics so far. The movie also got a new release date July 25, 2025.
What do you think? Does this casting choice makes you feel like Marvel is getting back on track?
