The kill room(2023).//. The art made from blood
INTRODUCTION
My sister wanted to watch a movie titled The Kill Room starring one of my favorite actors Samuel Jackson, so I excitedly joined. Unfortunately, after a few minutes into the movie, we were both bored and we abandoned it. How could Samuel Jackson disappoint me I wondered.
Just yesterday, I was bored and I decided to give the movie another shot expecting nothing but to my surprise, this movie is not just a regular crime movie but with a mixture of thriller, art, and comedy.
THE SUMMARY
This 2023 thriller movie is directed by Nicol Paone and written by Jonathan Jacobson.
Patrice was an art dealer who suffered poor sales and financial insolvency. She lived on drugs to release most of her stress driven by the thoughts of her drowning gallery and the debts she owes. One of the debts she owed was to her drug supplier Nate whom she gave an art instead because she didn’t have his money.
While Patrice was worried about what to do about her insolvent, Gordon a drug dealer worried about how he could clean his money through a secure means. Nate thought how Patrice and. Gordon could help each other so he linked them up.
Gordon pretty much loved the idea so he went to Patrice Galerry to talk to Patrice about the deal. Patrice initially declined but later acceded to the deal due to her insolvency and the promise she made to one artist Fern who was now working with her rival Anita.
Anita was like a rival art dealer and her gallery was doing very well.
The deal they had was that Gordon would provide the art and the money they wanted to launder and all Patrice needed to do was to write a cheque for the amount of the money minus her reasonable cut. She would also write an invoice and act like the art was sold.
To get the art they will be using, Gordon called his boy Reggie, who was a hitman and knew nothing about art to do the paintings for him. Reggie's art was ugly and unprofessional but who cares? Reggie found inspiration from the bags he used in murdering.
Their first deal went as successful as the subsequent ones until “the Bagman” macabre art became an overnight sensation through the help of her annoyingly losses-lipped intern Leslie and the kimono ( a celebrity art blogger ) and every rich art collector wants to have his art.
Since Her attempt to keep the bagman art low profile was futile, she and Reggie were threatened by the mafia boss Reggie works for.
Despite all the chaos and threat, Patrice saw true art in Reggie’s work, Gordon saw the art as a means to an end, the mafia boss saw it as a threat, and the art world saw it as unique and dark art but Reggie saw it as a means of escape.
Finally, Patrice, Gordon, and Reggie found a way to put an end to the mafia boss's threat. They had a plan which succeeded as the last work of the bag man and was sold to an obsessed art collector, the Galvinson.
I’m the end nobody was able to get the bagman's work except for his last piece which actually sold to the Galvinson and nobody knew what the art was.

MY THOUGHTS
I love the concept of the movie. As I have written above I didn't really have an interest in the movie but what captured my interest in the movie was the deal Gordon and Patrice made. I was anxious to know how everything turned out. And it surprisingly turned out to be so unpredictable. You can never know what was about to happen.
The storyline is incredibly unique. I have never watched a movie where crime and art fit so perfectly.
Another interesting part was the ending part. The Last Art of the “Bagman” I was surprised by how clever the plan turned out. But notwithstanding the bagman was a little too illogical for me.
Patrice used the bagman to change people's narrative. Like what she said in the movie “When you make big sales, you have the power to control the narrative”
That’s why The Bagman Art got art collectors attention and because of the unavailability of the art, it made them wanted it more.
They wondered why his art was so expensive and for them to see a reason they made themselves believe his ugly-looking and unprofessional art was unique, sugarcoating the ugliness to create a perspective to justify their belief.
Let me talk about the cast and characters
Uma Thurman as Patrice acting was kinda off for me. She was purely overacting which was one of the reasons for my boredom initially.
Samual L. Jackson as Gordon did a really good acting as usual. His acting was smooth and effortless.
Joe Manganiello as Reggie did a good job too. His acting was so pure and intentional. I think I like him.
Other actors did well.
CONCLUSION
I would recommend this movie if you’re a fan of thriller and comedy. It doesn’t have a lot of action in it so if you are expecting some action or a lot bit of horror maybe because of the title, you will be disappointed
I think the movie is focused on the criminals who try to clean their money through art. I never knew money could be clean through art.
Also, another thing I was able to get from the movie was that people (the world) will value you the way you value yourself meaning when you have money you can change the narrative. Assuming the bagman started art without the money laundering scheme involved, nobody would buy his ugly-looking art but the reverse was the case.
This movie is approximately 1 hour 33 minutes long and My overall experience was a 7.5/10. I was surprised IMDb rated it as low as 5.5/10. I think the movie deserves more than that. I recommend this movie because it is definitely worth my time.
