For those of us who like fresh, relaxing, fun, dramatic, family-friendly series, I recommend This Is Us, on Prime. Since it's an old series, maybe the only person who hasn't seen it is me, but still, I warn that it might contain spoilers.

Despite not being a new series, I hadn't had the opportunity to watch it, I guess it didn't catch my attention, until recently, looking for what to watch on Prime, it popped up on the programming grid and I can say that it hooked me from the beginning.
Jack Pearson (Milo Ventimiglia) and Rebecca Pearson (Mandy Moore) are a young married couple, who are about to have triplets, but due to fate, things do not go as they expect and life gives them a twist, which would change their lives forever.
The series tells the story of the Pearson family, made up of parents Jack and Rebecca Pearson and siblings Kevin, Kate and Randall.
Siblings Kate and Kevin are the two surviving children of a triple pregnancy, born on the birthday of Jack, the boys' father, in 1980.
The third child was stillborn, but Jack and Rebecca, thought their destiny was already written and that meant, having the three children, that Rebecca had carried in her womb. I should mention that Jack and Rebecca, are white-skinned people.
At the same time, a dark-skinned baby was born the same day in another place in the same city and was abandoned in a fire station by his biological father. The fireman, who gets him, takes him to the hospital and the nurses place him in a crib next to the Pearson siblings. When Jack and Rebecca see him, they decide to adopt him and name him Randall.
This series employs the use of flashback throughout the series, to show the Pearson family's past, from when Jack and Rebecca were children and did not know each other, in order to understand their present.
This series takes us to live the emotions and feelings of each character separately and makes us see that, in appearance, they are a perfect family, but deep down, they are people full of problems, vices and misfortunes.
Kevin, one of the couple's children, played masterfully by Justin Hartley, represents a fashionable actor who, at 36 years old, is going through a personal crisis, which has been going on since he was a child, but it is at 36 that this crisis reaches its peak.
Kate, the child of the Pearson couple, played by actress Chrissy Metz, is a girl with a beautiful face, lively and beautiful light eyes, but she is complexed by an extreme overweight. This leads her to an internal battle, which results in a somewhat justified rebellion. She only focuses on seeing the bad things about herself, without appreciating her true attributes, such as her spectacular and melodious voice.
On the other hand, Randall, the dark-skinned boy adopted by the Pearson's, is played by Sterling K. Brown, an exceptionally intelligent boy, exceptionally intelligent, exceptionally talented, and exceptionally talented. Brown, an exceptionally intelligent boy, who demands a lot from himself, perhaps seeking the approval of his parents, the environment to which he fails to fit in, as he feels excluded by the cruelty of his brother Kevin and his brother's friends.
Each chapter leads us to explore the lives of each of them, how they intermingle with each other, how they seek their sense of belonging in society, their place in the world. Each one, from their own personal experience and from their own feelings. It immerses us in each of the characters' search for answers, to delve into their past, to understand their present, to work on their fears and frustrations.
This series explores all the topics of everyday life that they may face: addictions, jealousy, sexual preferences, complexes, lies, laughter, tears, losses and focus on Alzheimer's in a subtle way.
This Is Us is full of feeling, it is a series that catches the viewer from the first moment, it leads us to reflect, to value and be grateful for what we have, to work on the aspects that are not right, to try to find our place in the world, to find that mind-spirit balance we need.
For those who have not seen it, I highly recommend it.

Para quienes nos gustan las series frescas, relajantes, divertidas, dramáticas, para ver en familia, les recomiendo Así Somos, en Prime. Como es una serie algo vieja, quizás la única persona que no la haya visto, sea yo, pero de igual manera, alerto que podría contener spoiler.

A pesar de no ser una serie nueva, yo no había tenido la oportunidad de verla, creo que no me llamó la atención, hasta que hace poco, buscando qué ver en Prime, me apareció en la grilla de programación y puedo decir que me enganchó desde el principio.
Jack Pearson (Milo Ventimiglia) y Rebecca Pearson (Mandy Moore) son un matrimonio joven, que está a punto de tener trillizos, pero por causas del destino, las cosas no salen como ellos esperan y la vida les da un vuelco, que cambiaría sus vidas para siempre.
La serie nos relata la vida de la familia Pearson, conformada por los padres, Jack y Rebecca Pearson y los hermanos Kevin, Kate y Randall.
Los hermanos Kate y Kevin son los dos hijos sobrevivientes de un embarazo triple, nacidos el cumpleaños de Jack, el padre de los chicos, en 1980.
El tercer niño nació muerto, pero Jack y Rebecca, pensaban que su destino ya estaba escrito y eso significaba, tener los tres hijos, que Rebecca había llevado en su vientre. Debo mencionar que Jack y Rebecca, son personas de piel blanca.
Paralelamente, un bebé de piel oscura, nació el mismo día en otro lugar, de la misma ciudad y fue abandonado en una estación de bomberos, por su padre biológico. El bombero, que lo consigue, lo lleva al hospital y las enfermeras lo colocan en una cunita al lado de los hermanitos Pearson. Cuando Jack y Rebecca lo ven, deciden adoptarlo y le ponen por nombre Randall.
Esta serie emplea el uso de flashback durante toda la serie, para mostrar el pasado de la familia Pearson, desde que Jack y Rebecca eran niños y no se conocían, para así poder entender su presente.
Esta serie nos lleva a vivir las emociones y sentimientos de cada personaje por separado y nos hace ver que, en apariencia, son una familia perfecta, pero en el fondo, son personas llenas de problemas, vicios y desventuras.
Kevin, uno de los hijos de la pareja, interpretado magistralmente por Justin Hartley, representa a un actor de moda que, a sus 36 años, atraviesa por una crisis personal, que ya venía desde niño, pero es, a sus 36 años, que esta crisis llega al máximo.
Kate, la niña de la pareja Pearson, es interpretada por la actriz Chrissy Metz, es una chica, de rostro hermoso, vivaces y preciosos ojos claros, pero está acomplejada por un sobrepeso extremo. Esto la lleva a una batalla interna, que desemboca en una rebeldía un tanto justificada. Solo se enfoca en ver lo malo que tiene, sin valorar sus verdaderos atributos, como su espectacular y melodiosa voz.
Por su parte, Randall, el chico de piel oscura, adoptado por los Pearson, es interpretado por Sterling K. Brown, un chico excepcionalmente inteligente, que se exige mucho a sí mismo, quizás buscando la aprobación de sus padres, del entorno al que no logra encajar, pues se siente excluido por la crueldad de su hermano Kevin y de los amigos de este.
Cada capítulo nos lleva a explorar la vida de cada uno de ellos, cómo se entremezclan entre sí, cómo buscan su sentido de pertenencia en la sociedad, su lugar en el mundo. Cada quien, desde su propia experiencia personal y desde sus propios sentimientos. Nos sumerge en esa búsqueda de respuestas, de cada uno de los personajes, a hurgar en su pasado, para comprender su presente, en trabajar en sus temores y frustraciones.
Esta serie explora todos los tópicos de la vida cotidiana y que pueden enfrentar: adicciones, celos, preferencias sexuales, complejos, mentiras, risas, lágrimas, pérdidas y enfocan el Alzheimer de una manera sutil.
Así Somos, está llena de sentimiento, es una serie que atrapa al televidente desde el primer momento, nos lleva a reflexionar, a valorar y a agradecer por lo que tenemos, a trabajar en los aspectos que no están bien, a tratar de encontrar nuestro lugar en el mundo, a encontrar ese equilibrio mente-espíritu que necesitamos.
A quienes no la han visto, la recomiendo ampliamente.

La disfruté mucho, no hubo un capítulo que me aburriera, todos tenían un embrujo maravilloso de lo que son las familias a pesar de que esta era bastante disfuncional.

Tampoco la vi hasta el momento, pero sé que fue una serie que varios vieron en su tiempo y tiene buenas criticas. Quería verla, pero por una cosa o la otra la fui posponiendo. Sin embargo, me gustaría hacerlo pronto.
