Road Trip with the Mitchells
Minime and I took a break from our studies on Saturday to morning to catch the Mitchell's Versus the Machines at the Cineplex. MVM starts of as family dramedy. Generational clashes and techie versus nature lover. Nature, actual face time craving Daddy Mitchell, Rick, does not understand his social-media loving, movie-making zoomer daughter, Abbi.
Rick belittles Abbi's Youtube videos. Although he is more than willing to spend time with his daughter, it is not the attention she craves. Rick wonders how she will make a living with these absurd little videos featuring the family pug. He doesn't come to understand until later just how popular Abbi' videos have become and the service her quirky humour provides to a stressed out, tech obsessed society.
On the eve of Abbi's departure to film school, tensions blow-out. Rick not wanting to leave things on such a sour note, cancels Abbi's flight and instead plans a family road trip to California to deliver Abbi to school. MVM begins as a family road trip movie, a la National Lampoons, but quickly morphs into a G-rated AI apocalypse flick more akin to the likes of Zombieland, if the cast were animated and more wholesome.
Lots of humour and character development follow. The dialogue and narrative and very strong and effect is cohesive. These story-tellers pack a lot in and well. N Definitely give Mitchells Versus a view when it crosses your streaming screen. Fun family viewing. You, singeltons and couples, might like it too for it whimsy and humour.

Autumn. Winter. Spring. Summer.
There is always something to enjoy in Vancouver. In Summer, the weather is warm and sunny. It hardly rains. It is a great time to get outside and enjoy nature and the city. I swim at Second Beach Pool, barbecue at English Bay Beach, and go to festivals and parades, like the Celebration of Lights and the Multicultural Parade.
Summer slowly becomes Autumn. The days get shorter. The heat changes to cold. The dry air grows moist and It starts to rain. Almost everyday. I rake the leaves and enjoy the colourful trees when it is still sunny and dry.
Come Halloween, young kids Trick or Treat. I am too old now to go door-to-door, but not too old to enjoy the second best night of the year.
I will give out candy this year. Everyone can dress up and decorate. I will dress up as an alien I already have the mask. And there is always waiting for the Great Pumpkin.
In the Winter, it rains even more and the temperature drops. It is better to stay inside or go somewhere with snow. I go ice skating at the West End Community Center and snowshoeing on Grouse Mountain.
When it does finally snow in downtown Vancouver, I go sledding on a nearby hill. My neighbours celebrate and decorate for Christmas and Diwali. The days are really short and the twinkling lights lift your mood.
Pink snow tells us that it is springtime. Finally. The days start to get longer and warmer again. I am working hard on school, but every day I try to go out for a walk and look at the new flowers and baby birds. The Farmer’s Market reopens, and we go every Saturday morning to look for local products. All the seasons of the year, you can do fun and interesting things in Vancouver.

If yes, that is so amazing
Such trips are very important for the relaxation of the mind and one must go this way once a week and see the natural things and forget and see many things that make one happy to see.
