Si bien el terrorismo es algo que cada vez los paises toman en cuenta, y se preparan para evitar y enfrentar en caso ocurra algo así; no siempre ha sido el caso. Esta película cuenta el caso real de los atentados múltiples que ocurrieron en Mumbai, India en 2008; especialmente en el famoso Hotel Mumbai.
Although terrorism is something that every time countries take into account, and prepare themselves to avoid and confront in case something like this happens; it has not always been the case. This film tells the real case of the multiple bombings that occurred in Mumbai, India in 2008; especially in the famous Mumbai Hotel.
Sinopsis: Un día que parece ser un habitual día de trabajo en el Hotel Mumbai, este es sorprendido con un ataque terrorista por jóvenes armados. La tragedia llega, pero tanto el personal como los huéspedes, buscarán la manera de reducir la cantidad de víctimas, mientras esperan la ayuda exterior.
Synopsis: A day that seems to be a usual working day at the Mumbai Hotel, it is surprised with a terrorist attack by armed youths. Tragedy strikes, but staff and guests alike will look for ways to reduce the number of casualties while waiting for outside help.
Como mencioné al comienzo, Mumbai, una capital financiera de la India, no estaba preparada para lo que ocurrió ese día, múltiples atentados terroristas en distintos puntos de la ciudad. En la trama, aparte de ver la trágica situación, conocemos un poco como diversos personajes, entre personal, huésped, policías y otros, tratan de escapar o reducir la cantidad de víctimas.
As I mentioned at the beginning, Mumbai, a financial capital of India, was not prepared for what happened that day, multiple terrorist attacks in different parts of the city. In the plot, apart from seeing the tragic situation, we learn a bit about how various characters, including staff, guests, police and others, try to escape or reduce the number of victims.
El despliegue e imágenes que se ven durante todo el atentado son duras, ya que los terroristas buscan hacer el mayor daño posible, sin contemplaciones, y el hecho que la respuesta es escasa o nula. Es increíble ver como mucha parte del personal, en vez de escapar cuando podían, deciden quedarse para dar apoyo a los huéspedes. Para dar un mayor dramatismo, hay unas cuantas historias personales, pero el mayor sentimiento que queda es tensión y horror ante el fanatismo irracional de los atacantes.
The deployment and images seen throughout the attack are harsh, as the terrorists seek to do as much damage as possible, without contemplation, and the fact that there is little or no response. It is incredible to see how many of the staff, instead of escaping when they could, decide to stay behind to support the guests. For added drama, there are a few personal stories, but the biggest feeling left is tension and horror at the irrational fanaticism of the attackers.
La producción es excelente, logra mostrar con bastante realismo lo ocurrido en el Hotel Mumbai; a su vez, hay una buena edición y fotografía que logran mostrar lo que ocurre en diversos lugares del hotel y afueras. La actuación es aceptable, pero no destaca.
The production is excellent, it manages to show quite realistically what happened in the Mumbai Hotel; in turn, there is a good editing and photography that manage to show what happens in various parts of the hotel and outskirts. The acting is acceptable, but not outstanding.
Es un título que sirve para mostrar, además de los hechos, que a pesar de lo cruenta que pueda parecer una situación, aún quedan momentos para mostrar humanidad. Recomendable.
It is a title that serves to show, in addition to the facts, that despite how bloody a situation may seem, there are still moments to show humanity. Recommended.
