En la actualidad, cada año se producen una gran cantidad de animes; sin embargo, eso no es lo que ocurría en décadas pasadas, con lo que varias adaptaciones de mangas nunca se llegaron a hacer. Este título basado en un manga publicado en los 80’s, por fin tuvo una adaptación anime en el 2014. Fue desarrollado por el estudio Madhouse, siendo su director Kenichi Shimizu.
Nowadays, a large number of anime are produced every year; however, that is not what happened in past decades, with the result that several manga adaptations were never made. This title based on a manga published in the 80's, finally had an anime adaptation in 2014. It was developed by the studio Madhouse, being its director Kenichi Shimizu.
Sinopsis: Shinichi Izumi es un joven escolar en que una noche tiene una rara pesadilla en que una especie de serpiente se acaba entrando a su mano; al dia siguiente, se da cuenta que no era un mal sueño, sino que es un parásito, que llamara Migi, con el que tendrá que convivir. A partir de ese momento, tendrá que adaptarse a tener una vida distinta, mientras que enfrenta diversos problemas, entre ellos luchar con otros parásitos.
Synopsis: Shinichi Izumi is a young schoolboy who one night has a strange nightmare in which a kind of snake ends up entering his hand; the next day, he realizes that it was not a bad dream, but it is a parasite, which he will call Migi, with which he will have to live. From that moment on, he will have to adapt to having a different life, while facing several problems, among them fighting with other parasites.
Migi, el coprotagonista de la historia, es un parásito que no pudo llegar al cerebro de Shinichi, por ello tendrá que convivir con él. Es un personaje con su propia personalidad y que su objetivo principal es sobrevivir. Shinichi verá su vida alterada, aparte de que su personalidad y habilidades irán cambiando poco a poco.
Migi, the co-protagonist of the story, is a parasite that could not reach Shinichi's brain, so he will have to live with him. He is a character with his own personality and his main goal is to survive. Shinichi will see his life altered, and his personality and abilities will change little by little.
Por otro lado, iremos viendo como otros parásitos ven su aparición en el mundo desde diversos ángulos, algunos simplemente buscarán sobrevivir mientras otros intentan entender a qué se debe su aparición. La trama logra mezclar muchas buenas escenas de acción(con cierto gore), suspenso, comedia, un toque de romance y el día a día de Shinichi. Lo único negativo, es que siento cierto apuro por avanzar rapido, especialmente en el tramo final.
On the other hand, we will see how other parasites see their appearance in the world from different angles, some will simply try to survive while others try to understand why they appear. The plot manages to mix many good action scenes (with some gore), suspense, comedy, a touch of romance and Shinichi's day to day life. The only negative is that I feel a certain rush to advance quickly, especially in the final stretch.
La animación es bastante correcta, con unas buenas escenas de combate, aunque un tanto limitada en cierto punto. El diseño de personajes es mejorable, especialmente en secundarios. La música nos deja un excelente opening, de los mejores de su año.
The animation is quite correct, with some good combat scenes, although somewhat limited at some point. The character design can be improved, especially in secondary characters. The music leaves us with an excellent opening, one of the best of the year.
De este título, ya había leído el manga hace muchos años, y me parece excelente que esta adaptación le haya hecho justicia a tan buena historia. Recomendable.

What were your thoughts on the few comedic elements that were sprinkled throughout? I'm glad someone else enjoyed this and reviewed it. The humor was where it personally fell a bit flat for me (especially since much of it was probably due to it being an 80s manga updated for the modern era; I haven't read any of it but hope to sometime).
This sounds like a fascinating anime! A hidden gem from the 80s finally getting an adaptation is always exciting. A high schooler battling alien parasites with a sentient hand as his partner? That's a pretty wild concept and I like it🤸🏾♀️✨️

How can I forget Parasyte, one day I have to watch it again because I don't remember anything anymore, hahaha. It's been many years since I saw it, and I disagree with you, in those days the animation of this anime was the best, being that the animation studio that made it was Madhouse, one of the best if not the best at that time.
Migi won the hearts of many haha despite being a parasite, his charisma and grace made me love him. Even my sister named her first cat Migi after this cute little critter 😂
The anime is very good, entertaining and with a good plot, rushed as you say, but still worth watching 👌🦉
I saw that anime a long time ago, I think when it was still broadcast and I thought it was very good.
After a while I watched it again and I feel certain flaws in it but it is still a good anime to pass the time

Uno de los animes que más me gusto en su momento, pero hace poco la volví a ver y me di cuenta de que el autor de esta obra no sabía para donde iba jaja, no termina de cerrar muchísimas cosas, el final es de lo más anticlimático y en general la trama falla muchísimo pero igualmente me gusto, es uno de esos animes que dices: "Que buen anime, no lo vere de nuevo" jajaja, en fin, buen post bro!
