Films que inspiran/ Legión de Ángeles (Esp/Eng)

Saludos amigos de Holos&lotus. Me encanta el cine y participo por primera vez en la iniciativa "Films que inspiran. 2da edición" y he seleccionado la película Legión de Ángeles o Legión, que ha sido catalogada como una película de acción y de ciencia ficción, pero que tiene varios mensajes que son interesante de analizar.

Esta película me impresiono la primera vez que la ví. Su estreno en el cine fue en el año 2010. Protagonizada por Paul Bettany en el papel del Arcangel Miguel y Kenny Durán en el papel del Arcangel Gabriel además de un reparto de actores entre ellos Dennys Quaid.

En el comienzo del Apocalipsis, un grupo de personas que casualmente llegan a una estación de gasolina solitaria se enfrentan al temor de un futuro muy incierto y a sus propios miedos. Ellos estan solos, en un lugar donde son alcanzados por una serie de eventos sorpresivos y terribles que no comprenden pero que para enfrentarlos deben estar unidos.

Hay un gran simbolismo en escenas que impactan por su crudeza y terror. Pero no es el terror a seres desconocidos, a espiritus malignos y demonios al que estamos acostumbrados en este tipo de películas, sino ángeles que cumplen un mandato... el de Dios.

El tema del Apocalipsis me ha fascinado desde que supe de su significado, no solo por lo que aparece descrito textualmente en la Biblia sino en la interpretación del significado del fin de la humanidad y el comienzo de una nueva existencia del hombre.

En la película, existe una esperanzade que la humanidad pueda ser salvada, y es a traves del nacimiento de un niño, al que hay que proteger y es alli donde interviene el arcangel Miguel. Es en este escenario donde las personas que estan atrapadas en este lugar en medio de un desierto, tienen que luchar no contra el mal sino contra ellos mismos y las fuerzas de Dios representada por ángeles comandados por el arcangel Gabriel.

Y en esta lucha resaltan valores tan importantes como el amor desinteresado, el sacrificio por el bién de otros, la solidaridad ante el miedo y la angustia.

Analizando lo que ocurre , el mensaje que a mi me dejó es que el hombre debe salvarse a si mismo para poder salvar a otros y es este hombre nuevo el que iniciará un cambio en la humanidad.

Hay varias frases en la película que llamaron mi atención. Una hace referencia a la perdida de la fé.

La primera vez que Dios perdio la fé en la humanidad mandó un diluvio. Esta vez envio a sus ángeles

Creo en un Dios amoroso y no en el Dios castigador. Como señala Deepak Chopra en su libro Conocer a Dios, diferentes religiones han tratado de controlar a los hombres a través del castigo al pecado, del miedo a un Dios que puede acabar con la humanidad.

Pero si vemos a la humanidad en retrospectiva desde sus origenes hasta la actualidad, esto no ha sido suficiente para alcanzar un nivel de conciencia mas elevado. Sigue predominando la violencia, el egoismo y la guerra, sobre valores como la solidaridad, el amor y la paz .

¿Se cansará Dios de tanta maldad?

Esto me hizo reflexionar sobre el destino de la humanidad. Si continuamos por este camino ¿como serán las sociedades del futuro?. Si en algún momento ocurre un evento de quiebre que pudiera ser lo que el apocalipsis representa, ¿esto nos obligaria a cambiar? ¿tendremos que hacerlo o en caso contrario nos extinguiremos?

Pero mientras pensemos que la unica manera de cambiar es por temor al castigo, realmente no estariamos haciendo lo necesario.

En la película el arcangel Miguel mantiene la fé en el hombre mientras que el arcangel Gabriel solo cumple las ordenes que Dios le ha dado.

La esperanza en la humanidad esta en el corazón y la consciencia de los hombres, en saber que así como Dios nos hizo a su imágen y semejanza, tenemos el poder de elegir otro camino. Si aprendemos a valorar la vida de todos los seres que habitan este planeta, incluyendonos, estaremos logrando un cambio hacia una sociedad equilibrada, saludable y feliz. Ese es el reto de la humanidad.

Y es por eso que esta frase del arcangel Miguel Yo no le dí a Dios lo que me pidio sino lo que necesitaba

Es una manera de interpretar lo que la vida nos enseña. A veces recibimos lo que realmente necesitamos, y no lo que deseamos. La vida es mucho más que lo que pensamos, más allá de lo cotidiano. Hay una espiritualidad que todos compartimos y no somos capaces de sentirla, de conectarnos unos con otros.

Esta película la he visto varias veces. Es una visión muy particular del apocalipsis. Personalmente creo que aunque a veces pareciera que la humanidad está enferma de gravedad, todavía hay la esperanza de que pueda sanar.
