Winter 2024 - Icy Creations

Hi There!

Few shots taken recently during short walk by the Gim lake.
After strong frost (until -20 Celsius) the surface of the lake froze. The ice wasn't very thick - something about 3 cm by the shore - so way too weak to walk on it...

By the beach I found few ice floe with beautiful ice crystals on the bottom side.

I wish I had macro lens with me that day. I tried to photograph these beauties with my wide lens - results are not the best but I hope You can see the details and tiny ice spikes.

Interesting stuff - I love such icy creations and I posted a lot of such beauties in the past.

Ice amazing fine structures sticking one upon the other, as you mentioned pity no macro lens, these turned out fun to see.

Ice is a bit hard to photograph because of it's transparent structure - hard to catch the right focus point - but anyway - worth trying, thanks for the comment!
