Something for Monday ~ Black Clover

Usually when I think Anime I think series. Although Netflix has started to make these seemingly one of movies and with that in mind I think it is a good strategy to instead watch the movies, especially for some Anime that I may like the premise but I don't really care for the whole world-building.

Black Clover - Sword of the Wizard King

I would put this movie in the category of, an awesome movie but I won't start watching the series.

Mainly what I like is kick-ass magic, a little bit of underdog rising up and some glue.

I am not too picky on the glue as I am sure most junkies aren't but Black Clover's baddy did push the limit of even having his motivation get any air time.

Fortunately, he is batshit delusional so that does give it a touch of reality as we can all agree the worst scum on this planet right now is the same.

So with motivation weak but madness being epic Black Clover steps in with a really unique and well-executed magic system.

Now maybe if I watched the series before leading up to the movie I could appreciate the protagonist's non-magic skill more, since I think it does require a bit of history behind it.

There was a short segment where I could definitely guess the full extent of his power while not being magic still being able to compete against Magic Kings.

Overall I liked the pace, and although I don't see myself watching the series, I might be intrigued enough to find the key episode that explains the main dude Astras' powers.

I may or may not give the series a try but think since this movie is after the events it can get irritating to see the progression. !PIZZA
