The Watchers: Dakota está de Vuelta, pero... (Spa-Eng)

  ¿At what cost? 😂 Happy start to the week Cinephiles of the #MoviesAndTVShows Community. <a href=“https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5834874/?ref_=ttmi_ov_i”>The Watchers was one of the films that had intrigued me the most and topped my list of films for releases this year. Today I'll give you my review of it without spoilers.

  Well yes, this was one of the most anticipated movies of the year for me, especially since it was supposed to be horror and suspense and would star Dakota Fanning again, who I've been a huge fan of since she was a little girl.

  The movie started very well, but ended very badly. Sadly it wasn't what I was expecting and I was disappointed. I finished watching it to enjoy Dakota's performance.

  Besides the fact that it was filmed in Ireland and its captured shots were beautiful and majestic, the plot of the movie didn't please me one bit when it took a completely unexpected turn as director M. Night Shyamalan usually does. And it was his daughter who was in charge this time.

  But from my point of view it did a very bad job with the plot itself. If I had known it would have such an absurd ending I wouldn't have seen it. I would have liked the plot to take a sci-fi twist or something more terrifying, not based on fantasies and myths.

  And the movie tells a story of creatures based on Irish myths and legends. Ok, I enjoyed learning more about this country on a cultural level and its many mythological beliefs, but I found it absurd to know what these things they called The Watchers were.

  As I said, the movie started great, intrigued me until a certain point, and from there it went downhill in its entirety. I was left like this 😐 after watching it and in fact, my parents were excited for its release as was I and I told them not to waste their time on it. Its ending is so but so silly that it takes away the terrifying magic from everything that unfolded at the beginning of the film.

  The script wasn't very good either. Although there were a few lines and deep thoughts from the characters that are worth remembering, but that's as far as it went. The performances were also decent. **Dakota stood out as always and kept her essence of the great actress she is.

  And if it hadn't been for her I don't end up watching it. I would have liked it to have a grimmer twist like The Forest but it doesn't even come close to that. I understand it was based on an Irish novel but after watching this film I don't even feel like looking it up to read it. For its ridiculous twist at the end and disappointing me to a great magnitude, nor for Dakota's fabulous performance, I don't even recommend it and overall I just give it a thumbs down:

  ¿A qué costo? 😂 Feliz inicio de semana Cinéfilos de la Comunidad de #MoviesAndTVShows. Los Observados fue una de las películas que más me habían intrigado y encabezaba mi lista de films de estrenos de este año. Hoy les daré mi reseña sobre ella sin hacer spoilers.

  Pues sí, esta era una de las películas más esperadas del año por mi persona, sobre todo porque se suponía que era de terror, suspenso y actuaría nuevamente Dakota Fanning, de quien soy muy fan desde que ella era una niña.

  La película empezó muy bien, pero terminó muy mal. Lastimosamente no fue lo que yo esperaba y me decepcionó. Literalmente la terminé de ver sólo por disfrutar de la actuación de Dakota.

  Además de que se filmó en Irlanda y sus tomas capturadas fueron realmente hermosas y majestuosas, la trama de la película no me gustó ni un poquito cuando tomó un giro completamente inesperado como suele hacer el director M. Night Shyamalan. Y es que su hija fue quien estuvo a cargo en esta oportunidad.

  Pero desde mi punto de vista hizo un muy mal trabajo con la trama en sí. De haber sabido que tendría el final tan absurdo que tuvo no la hubiera visto. La verdad me hubiera gustado que la trama tomara un giro de ciencia ficción o algo más terrorífico, no basado en fantasías y mitos.

  Y es que la película relata una historia de criaturas basadas en mitos y leyendas irlandesas. Ok, me agradó conocer más de este país a nivel cultural y sus muchas creencias mitológicas, pero me resultó absurdo saber qué eran esas cosas a las cuales las hacían llamar Los Observadores.

  Como dije, la película empezó muy bien, intrigó hasta cierto momento y ya de allí se fue a declive en su totalidad. Quedé así 😐 luego de verla y de hecho mis padres estaban entusiasmados por su estreno al igual que yo y les dije que no perdieran el tiempo en ella. Porque su final es tan pero tan tonto que le quitó la magia terrorífica a todo lo que se desarrolló al inicio del film.

  El guión tampoco estuvo muy bueno. Aunque si hubo algunas frases y pensamientos profundos de los personajes que vale la pena recordar, pero hasta allí. Las actuaciones también estuvieron decentes. Dakota destacó como siempre y mantiene su esencia de gran actriz que es.

  Y de no haber sido por ella no la termino de ver. Me hubiera gustado que tuviera un giro más lúgubre como El Bosque Siniestro pero ni siquiera se acerca a eso. Entiendo que fue basada en una novela irlandesa pero luego de ver este film no me quedan ganas ni de buscarla para leerla. Por su giro tan ridículo al final y decepcionarme en gran magnitud, ni por la actuación fabulosa de Dakota, ni la recomiendo y en total sólo le doy:
