Mi Opinión Acerca de The Son (Spa-Eng)

  However, it will always be up to you, my readers, to make the final decision to give a chance to what I recommend to watch or, failing that, to completely discard the option of what I don't recommend. If you have similar tastes to mine, stick around to read some more.

  Today I want to talk to you about a movie that I usually don't watch that often because of its genre. In this case it is a Family Melodrama that focuses on the emotional problems of a teenage boy. The movie is called The Son, and here I will share with you my opinion without Spoilers.

  My parents saw this film recently, before the end of 2023 and they told me that it was excellent and they liked it a lot, but they didn't give me any details about what they liked and what they didn't like. I was already intrigued and when I saw the actors who worked on it, I decided to see it the first week of January.

  I saw it without expectations or knowing what it was about, I assumed it was about a father who has a rebellious son but I never imagined the delicate background the film would show.

  The film was released in 2022 and can be enjoyed on Amazon Prime. It features high gamma actors, for me the Creme Brulee of Hollywood with outstanding performances from all involved, especially the boy, who is the protagonist of the film. I thought Zen McGrath did an excellent job, he managed to convey more than he should have and connected with the character.

  In addition to the entire cast in general headed by Hugh Jackman and followed by one of my all-time favorite actors: Anthony Hopkins (although his appearance was brief, he stood out masterfully), I also cannot leave behind the performances of Vanessa Kirby who tends to say too much with her looks and to the beautiful Laura Dern who plays the boy's mother.

  And well this film is quite special for me and my family because like many families worldwide have gone through situations like this, maybe not as serious as it happened with me or as the case presented in this film but I think people who have experienced a situation like this will like it. And it is nothing more than living in the flesh what is a Severe Depression or living with someone who suffers from this condition.

  I can say that I identified with the protagonist as it reminded me of moments of my adolescence, and situations with my mom, who in this case I saw her reflected as Jackman, and well, the film itself shows in a very subtle way how situations of this magnitude can occur in the family.

  It also seems to me that it leaves a great teaching of life, that love, knowing how to express it well and without fear, would be of great help in cases like this, in addition to family unity. From experience, I can tell you that depression has many signs and most people simply do not see them or if they do see them, they turn a blind eye. However, we must keep in mind that it is a very serious problem and it is necessary to ask for help when it is suspected.

  Finally, I want to give you my score. I think that the director of the film did a great job raising in the best possible way a case that is usually seen a lot at the family level. For the performances, the story developed, and everything in general, I give it 🌟🌟🌟 and a half of 5 Estrellitas. It's a film more educational than entertaining and at the same time loaded with quite strong situations, but is it worth watching? Of course, it is. For me, it is:

  Hoy quiero hablarles de una película que normalmente no suelo ver tan a menudo por su género. En este caso es un Melodrama Familiar que se enfoca en los problemas emocionales de un chico adolescente. La película tiene por nombre El Hijo, y aqui les comparto cólo mi opinión sin necesidad de hacerles Spoilers.

  Éste film lo vieron mis padres hace poco, antes de que terminara el 2023 y me comentaron que fue excelente y les gustó mucho, pero no me dieron detalles de qué les gustó y qué no. Ya por ahí estaba intrigada y al ver los actores que trabajaron en ella, me decidí a verla la primera semana de Enero.

  La vi sin tener espectativas ni saber de qué trataba, supuse que era un padre que tenía un hijo rebelde pero nunca me imaginé el trasfondo tan delicado que mostraría el film.

Cuenta con actores de alta ganma, para mí la Creme Brulé de Hollywood con actuaciones destacadas de todos los involucrados, sobre todo del chico, quien es el protagonista del film. Me parece que Zen McGrath hizo un excelente trabajo, logró transmitir más de lo que debía y conectó con el personaje.

  Además de todo el elenco en general encabezado por Hugh Jackman y seguido por uno de mis actores favoritos de toda la vida: Anthony Hopkins (aunque su aparición fue breve, destacó magistralmente), tampoco puedo dejar atrás las actuaciones de Vanessa Kirby quien suele decir demasiado con sus miradas y a la hermosa Laura Dern quien interpreta la madre del chico.

  Y bueno ésta película es bastante especial para mí y mi familia porque al igual que muchas familias a nivel mundial han pasado por situaciones como ésta, tal vez no tan grave como sucedió conmigo o como el caso que presentaron en este film pero creo que les va a gustar a las personas que han experimentado una situación como ésta. Y no es más que la de vivir en carne propia lo que es una Depresión Severa o convivir con alguien que padece dicha condición.

  Puedo decir que me idendifiqué mucho con el protagonista ya que me recordó momentos de mi adolescencia, y situaciones con mi mamá que en este caso la vi reflejada como Jackman, y bueno la película en sí muestra de forma muy sutil cómo pueden darse situaciones de esta magnitud en la familia.

  Además me parece que deja una gran enseñanza de vida, de que el amor, sabiéndolo expresar bien y sin miedo, sería de gran ayuda para casos así, además de la unión familiar. Ya que por experiencia les digo que la depresión tiene muchas señales y la mayoria de las personas simplemente no las ven o si las ven se hacen la vista gorda. Sin embargo hay que tener en cuenta que un problema bastante serio y es necesario pedir ayuda cuando se sospecha de ello.

  Para finalizar quiero darles mi puntuación. Yo pienso que el director del film hizo un gran trabajo planteando de la mejor manera posible un caso que suele verse mucho a nivel familiar. Por las actuaciones, la historia desarrollada y todo en general, le doy 🌟🌟🌟 y media de 5 Estrellitas. Es un film más educativo que entretenido y a su vez cargada de situaciones bastante fuertes, pero ¿vale la pena verla? Por supuesto que si. De mi parte está:
