Greetings #MoviesAndTVShows beautiful people, Happy Wednesday, almost Thursday, how has your week been going so far? Mine so far, I'll say it's starting to settle in after a few stumbles and reaching a few milestones. So in an attempt to relax and entertain myself at the same time,e I wanted to look up a film that turned out to be quite the cinematic surprise, it's called Enemy.

  I'm still inclined to watch movies from previous years that have nothing to do with these last 2 years since most of the ones that have been released so far, I still think suck. Anyway, looking around here and there, I stumbled upon The Others (where Nicole Kidman works, and I've seen it before) and this one called Enemy.

  Its synopsis reads: an affable history teacher who leads a rather monotonous life. One day, while watching a movie, he discovers an actor who looks exactly like him. Obsessed with the idea of having a double, the search for this man will have unexpected consequences for him (Quoted from FilmAffinity). I found it strange and intriguing at the same time; it made me wonder how such a simple plot would have unexpected consequences.

  I went to see it also because of its high score (it had a higher score than The Others), on the other hand, it stars the sexy Jake Gyllenhaal who I find to be an excellent actor and it all added up to finally enjoy the film.

  What I liked the most is that, as is its synopsis, so is the plot of the movie, it just has an extremely strange twist at the end,d and it left me so thoughtful and puzzled that in the end, I had to go to YouTube to look for a logical explanation of what I had seen.

  while I enjoyed the various scenes (and the odd one they showed with a giant spider), this film made me believe it had a linear story, and I maintained my strong belief that this man had a twin brother that his mother had kept hidden from him forever.

  It never crossed my mind that this man suffered from a split personality and dissociated so much from reality to the point of living his fantasy to the fullest to end up making the same mistakes and not learning anything from what he had already experienced.

  The story was very well paced, leaving it up to the viewer to assemble their chronology of time, draw their conclusions, and glimpse so easily how a man with psychological problems can be seen in a normal way and not be aware of it at all.

  This was definitely what pleased me the most about the film. Of course, after looking for a logical explanation from someone who understood the film because its ending was so abrupt and unexpected, as well as super weird, I was very intrigued and asked if I needed answers.

  Before the credits, they make it clear that the film is based on a novel by José Saramago, which I have never read and was honestly unaware of its existence. This justifies how “crazy and at the same time strange” it was shown in certain scenes, but the truth is that the film has a very deep and shocking background.

  And although I saw it to entertain me and distract my mind, not to analyze or deepen in a psychological way the life of some character, I will say that I liked it. I also dare to say that it was well made, the director knew how to develop the story and the plot (except for the spider), I would say that it is a movie worth watching at least once.

  The film is enjoyable in many ways, Sarah Gadon's performance stood out quite a bit, as did Gyllenhaal's. As I said, if the film had not had these “strange” touches, I would give it a full score,e but for not understanding it or knowing it was a deep psychological thriller, I give it:

  Saludos gente linda de #MoviesAndTVShows, Feliz Miércoles ya casi Jueves, ¿cómo ha ido su semana hasta ahora? La mía hasta el momento diré que está empezando a acomodarse luego de algunos tropiezos y alcanzar algunos logros. Así que en un intento de relajarme y entretenerme al mismo tiempo quise buscar un film que resultó ser toda una sorpresa cinematográfica, se llama El hombre duplicado.

  Sigo inclinándome por ver películas de años anteriores que no tengan nada que ver con estos 2 últimos años ya que las que han sacado hasta el momento, en su mayoría sigo opinando que son un asco. En fin, buscando por aquí y por allá, me topé con Los Otros (donde trabaja Nicole Kidman y ya he visto anteriormente) y esta llamada El Hombre Duplicado.

  Su sinopsis dice así: un afable profesor de historia que lleva una vida bastante monótona. Un día, viendo una película, descubre a un actor que es idéntico a él. Obsesionado con la idea de tener un doble, la búsqueda de ese hombre tendrá para él consecuencias inesperadas (Citado de FilmAffinity). La misma me resultó extraña e intrigante al mismo tiempo, me hizo cuestionarme ¿cómo una trama así de sencilla tendría consecuencias inesperadas?

  Me dispuse a verla también por su alta puntuación (tenía más puntaje que Los Otros), por otro lado está protagonizada por el sexy Jake Gyllenhaal quien me resulta un excelente actor y pues todo sumó para finalmente disfrutar del film.

  Lo que más me gustó es que así como es su sinopsis, así es la trama de la película, sólo tiene un giro sumamente extraño al final y me dejó tan pensativa como extrañada que al final tuve que ir a YouTube a buscar una explicación lógica de lo que había visto.

  Y es que mientras disfrutaba de las escenas variadas (y una que otra extraña que mostraban con una araña gigante), este film me hizo creer que tenía una historia lineal y en verdad mantuve mi fuerte creencia de que este hombre tenía un hermano gemelo que su madre lo mantuvo oculto desde siempre.

  Nunca me pasó por la cabeza de que este hombre sufriera de personalidad doble y disociara tanto de la realidad a tal punto de vivir su fantasía a todo dar para al final volver a cometer los mismos errores y no aprender nada de lo que ya había vivido.

  La historia estuvo muy bien llevada, dejando a la libertad del espectador la capacidad de que arme su propia cronología de tiempo, saque sus conclusiones y vislumbre tan fácilmente cómo se puede ver un hombre con problemas psicológicos de manera normal y no ser consciente de ello en absoluto.

  Esto fue definitivamente lo que más me agradó del film. Claro, luego de buscar una explicación lógica de alguien que de verdad entendió la película, porque su final fue tan abrupto e inesperado, así como super raro que me intrigó mucho y si o si necesitaba respuestas.

  Antes de los créditos te dejan en claro que el film está basado en una novela de José Saramago, la cual no he leído nunca y que honestamente desconocía de su existencia. Esto justifica lo "loco y a la vez extraño" que se mostró en ciertas escenas, pero la verdad es que la película tiene un trasfondo muy profundo e impactante.

  Y aunque la vi para entretenerme y distraer la mente, no para analizar o profundizar de manera psicológica la vida que muestran de algún personaje, diré que me gustó. También me atrevo a decir que quedó bien hecha, el director supo cómo desarrollar la historia y la trama (salvo por lo de la araña), yo diría que es una película que vale la pena ver al menos una vez.

  La película es disfrutable en muchos aspectos, la actuación de Sarah Gadon destacó bastante, al igual que la de Gyllenhaal. Como dije, si el film no hubiera tenido estos toques "extraños" le daría una puntuación completa pero por no entenderla ni saber que era un thriller psicológico profundo le doy:
