Movie Review//Half Bad:The Bastard Son And The Devil Himself (episode 2)

It’s amazing how movie reviews got so interesting and it’s beginning to get intense as we move from one episode to the other. If you read through my first episode of half bad, you will know that Nathan was hated by all except his grandmother and the new girl in his school Annalise who he later fell in love with and since then everything changed for him. In this episode we’ll get to know more about their love story, if it lasted or not and how Annalise got her powers.

Nathan had to been taken by the council members far from the city because they believed he was too dangerous to the people, he could have been executed by the council but instead he was kept alive because of the prophecy about him killing his father. He was isolated from everyone and was trained by one of the Fairborn witch. It was just few months before Nathan will turn 17 years so everyone was afraid he would turn out to be like his father. Based on that, he was put in the cage like a wolf, that was his new home. He slept there at night after training, even the Fairborn who trained him was still very much afraid of him despite the fact that he has not gotten his powers yet. He was trained from morning until night yet he felt so weak, he couldn’t even beat the time given to him because he had no powers.

It was finally Annalise 17 birthday party where her father had to give her three gifts and also give her a drop of his blood as it has always been done. The blood given means that the family legacy will always remain in them. Soul, Annalise father wasn’t even worried about what his daughter’s power was going to be, he believed her power would bring fortitude to the family. While Annalise wondered the night of her birthday what her power would turn out to be, she tried everything possible to know what her power was but all to no avail. When she woke up in the morning, she decided to carry her pet and was talking to her pet thinking her power would be talking to animals and understanding their languages, little did she know that it was far from that. She got tired of trying then she let her pet down, in the process she was bitten by her pet, she got angry and shouted immediately the pet got smashed into pieces. Annalise was frightened, she quickly cleaned up the room, then she realized that she had one of the dangerous powers. She couldn’t tell anyone that her powers was destructive. This is when the story becomes more interesting and more intense. funny enough I really love Annalise power, imagine getting angry at something or someone wants to hurt you, you can just use your power to destroy the person.

Jessica on the other hand was being trained by the Fairborn witch councils with the other Fairborn members on how to catch blood witches, in another word, they were called hunters. Jessica attained the training because she wanted to destroy her brother Nathan because he was a blood witch and she still believed her brother was the cause of their mother’s death. While Jessica was being trained to catch blood witches, Nathan was being trained to kill his father and soul one of the Fairborn council member was looking for ways to stop Marcus Edge. Soul had decided to use dark magic which he was forbidden from using. To assess the dark magic,Soul will need his brother’s blood meaning he has to kill his brother and so many others things involved. He killed his brother and made it look like it was Marcus Edge that killed him.

The question here is, what is Soul up to? Why didn’t he look for other ways to solve the problem instead of killing his only brother? We’ll find out in the next episode, stay tuned.
