Messing with the wrong Beekeeper

(Edited)

The Beekeeper sure is an interesting title, and the film was widely acclaimed when it was released this year. Having seen it, I now understand why. I had to cut it some slack for some common film action cliches, though, but generally enjoyed it.

I think I have learnt a whole lot more about bees and beehives than ever by watching this film alone. The film wasn't even remotely about bees but applied the life of bees to its action story. Some of it was cringy, especially in the beginning, but you quickly warm up to it as it adds some colour to the film's story.

For some reason, though, the 1 hour, 45 minute film felt like it was well over 2 hours, but it managed to be engaging all through.

One man's brutal campaign for vengeance takes on national stakes after it's revealed he's a former operative of a powerful and clandestine organization known as Beekeepers. Google

You know this thing they do in action films where they make the main character near-invincible; it happened quite a lot in the film. Of course, it wasn't surprising. No one really expects the lead character to die off in the beginning. It's what they do all through and how they do it that matters more, mostly.

Jason Statham must have had a really, really short script because he barely said much. Yet he delivered. You never expect less from him anyway. That genre perfectly suits him, and he has proven himself countless times. The other characters, too, have their share of a great performance.

The film depicts, especially early enough, just how internet frauds happen and what it could do to people. The whole film spirals from that concept, and then we see a man willing to sacrifice himself to set things right by taking justice into his own hands.

Action films tend not to have much depth in their storylines. It usually is just about the guns, knives, punches, and kicks. The whole concept about bees and their ways came into play in the story, adding some interesting elements to the film.

For example, talking about bees sacrificing themselves for the greater good hints to viewers that somebody is going to go all the way and should expect just about anything. And there were some others like that that gave some sense of direction to the film and added some level of entertainment to the film.

I don't consider any particular moment in the film to be dull. There may have been some unrealistic things, but what's an action film without some of that?

Entertaining is what I would call The Beekeepers. It isn't my type of genre, but was straightforward yet very enjoyable. Something I think just about anyone could enjoy, and that I recommend. I'll give it a 7/10.

This movie is a movie I would love to watch repeatedly because of the way it was acted. It was filled with total action and suspense, which really made the movie interesting to watch.

hahaha I legit thought this was a beekeper movie but apparently not 🤣 Phishing scam is scary indeed and there are people who legit commits suicide because of it. It's nice to see there are movie raising awareness about it. These days though, there are good people all around who busted these kind of scam operations and it's all on youtube. They are definitely the unseen heroes of the modern day.

Yesss... there are certain scam busters on YouTube that are doing really well catching some of the scammers. I like how they even expose them via their webcam and microphone. The scammers' reactions when they realise is usually hilariou! 😂 Good that there good films promoting awareness. The way the woman was scammed is just how it happens, especially for old people.

I'm hoping for really good action films in Q4, even though I don't watch it much.
