Deadpool & Wolverine: The Unlikely Duo We Never Knew We Needed

I saw a meme that put Charles Xavier beside Cassandra Nova and asked who the more powerful one was. At that time, I had no idea who Cassandra was, but I became curious where the topic about her came from. Found out it was the same Deadpool & Wolverine that everyone's been talking about, and it turned out to be way better than I imagined.

I mean, Ryan Reynolds is one of my favourites, and I love the Deadpool franchise. I expected the same energy and peculiarity from Deadpool himself, but I wasn't sure about Wolverine and Deadpool in the same film. I haven't quite been enjoying Marvel much lately, but they cooked something different this time.

What makes Deadpool very special as a character and even as a franchise is the unconventional storywriting and entertaining sense of humour Wade Wilson (Deadpool) has. Deadpool is always R-rated, allowing it to explore a vast range of comedy.

I wonder who else would play Deadpool better than Ryan Reynolds. I hardly went through the film without laughing every now and then. He does have a strong personality that sells his character really well. And somehow, that energy mixed well with Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.

Considering that both of them, Deadpool and Wolverine, have regenerative powers and have tempraments on different ends of a spectrum, their duo was a totally entertaining experience all through the film. When neither one of them can kill the other, their clashes are almost endless, but in a very hilarious way most times.

While the Marvel Cinematic Universe takes CGI seriously, I feel like the effort put in Deadpool was different. Other than the film being gory for most of the time, a lot of thought was put into how the visual elements of the film would contribute to the story, especially in the beginning. And being that the film is basically an action/comedy type of time, the cinematography hit hard.

The thing about Marvel's movies is that everything is connected. In Deadpool & Wolverine, we see characters from different franchises and timelines show up. A lot more characters from X-Men and even Fantastic Four made appearances, but of course, I was mostly curious about Cassandra Nova and see the hype I had heard about her for myself.

Trying to not spoil the film, but I'll say the Marvel Cinematic Universe has a way of introducing not just new characters that may or may not play important roles in the future, but also new ideas and concepts that would form new stories later on.

Something about Deadpool in general is that he is mostly unpredictable with the things he says and the things he does, and that largely helps keep the film engaging. I never want to miss a beat, even though he says a lot of R-rated things and even acts in very odd ways. And that usually ultimately leads to an unpredictable ending, but mostly the kind that I would be content with.

If you're not down for gory—and I mean gory—a lot of action and R-rated comedy, you might just skip this one. Other than that, Deadpool & Wolverine is a totally entertaining film—one that I could actually watch again.

It’s crazy how I just finish watching this movie, opened hive and the first thing I saw was a review on the movie. I relate with everything you said but I didn’t enjoyed the way it was hyped. Probably I’ll watch it again and the comic was a bit much. It was enjoyable and all, I’ll give it a 7/10 cause if the other stars included in it which made me love it more. Beside maybe because I already watched so many spoilers on TikTok 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️

Greetings friend, this movie was a success and it is incredible how they brought these two characters together and in this way recreated the entire plot, which was incredibly loaded with a lot of action and adrenaline. Uniting these characters from Great that you liked it and can laugh for a while.
