The Fallout, how to make a good protest movie - Review (NO SPOILERS) [ENG/ESP]

Hello everyone!!! I hope you are having a great week, I'm Nieves and today I want to talk to you about "The Fallout" which in Spanish is called "La Vida Después" a movie written and directed by Megan Park, starring the queen Jenna Ortega and Maddie Ziegler.
For a first feature film directed by Megan Park it is very good. It's a film I don't want to give spoilers for because it deserves to be seen without expectations. It touches the heart, makes you suffer and leaves you with the hope that everything is going to be okay.
But first, let's go point by point.
Synopsis
Vada (Jenna Ortega) is an outgoing and cheerful girl, Mia (Maddie Ziegler) is a reserved and popular teenage dancer and influencer. There was no relationship between the two, except that they went to the same high school. However, the school shooting in which they are cornered becomes the event that brings them together. Little by little we will discover what the shooting meant to them, how it changed their lives and how such a situation can affect the normal life of a teenager.
Review
I have to say that I decided to watch the movie because of the shooting scene I had seen on networks. I remember being nervous and anxious as the scene is very well done, like most of the scenes in the movie. The Incident kicks off seven minutes in, the narrative is fast-paced and dynamic, although it doesn't pretend to be explosive or with big plot twists it keeps you hooked on the doubt of: how are these girls going to make it through?
I like how the protagonists really seem like teenagers with emotional problems, that they don't approach trauma from a perpetual sadness and that each one does it differently, you can identify with any of the four affected on camera even though it's Vada who is the protagonist. You can even empathize with Vada's parents because we are given the opportunity to understand them even a little bit.
About the plot I have nothing but good things to say, because although teenage issues are dealt with it never loses the center of the story which is the trauma of our protagonists and how that affects more people. Bisexuality issues are touched upon in a light and very well paced way, it doesn't feel forced. The shooting and the clear protest of the few measures taken in real life about access to guns are dealt with in the best way there is. They're not too graphic and the film slowly takes you where it wants to go. I loved the lights, the sets and the camera movement depending on the tone of the scenes. It makes me think of the great potential the director undoubtedly has.
"The Fallout" is a light film with a very powerful message, in my opinion it is treated in a spectacular way and is something we all should see.

¡Hola a todos! Espero estén teniendo una semana genial, soy Nieves y hoy quiero hablarles sobre “The Fallout” que en español se llama “La Vida Después” una película escrita y dirigida por Megan Park, protagonizada por la reina Jenna Ortega y Maddie Ziegler.
Para ser el primer largometraje dirigido por Megan Park es muy bueno. Es una película de la cual no quiero dar spoiler porque merece que la veas sin esperar nada. Toca el corazón, hace sufrir y te deja con la esperanza de que todo va a estar bien.
Pero primero, vamos punto por punto.
Sinopsis
Vada (Jenna Ortega) es una chica extrovertida y feliz, Mia (Maddie Ziegler) es una bailarina e influencer adolescente reservada y popular. No existía relación alguna entre ambas excepto que estudiaban en la misma secundaria. Sin embargo, el tiroteo escolar en el que son acorraladas se vuelve el suceso que las une. Poco a poco descubriremos qué significó el tiroteo para ellas, como cambió sus vidas y como una situación de este tipo puede afectar la vida normal de un adolescente.
Reseña
Tengo que decir que decidí ver la película por la escena del tiroteo que había visto en redes, recuerdo ponerme nerviosa y angustiada ya que la escena está muy bien hecha, como la mayoría de las escenas de la película. El incidente arranca a los siete minutos, la narrativa es rápida y dinámica, aunque no es una obra pensada para ser explosiva ni con grandes giros de trama te mantiene enganchado en la duda de: ¿cómo van a superar esto estas chicas?
Me gusta como las protagonistas de verdad parecen adolescentes con problemas emocionales, que no plantean el trauma desde una tristeza perpetua y que cada uno lo hace de forma distinta, te puedes identificar con cualquiera de los cuatro afectados que aparecen en cámara aunque sea Vada la protagonista. Incluso puedes empatizar con los padres de Vada porque nos dan la oportunidad de entenderlos aunque sea un poco.
Sobre la trama no tengo más que decir que cosas buenas, porque aunque se tratan temas de la adolescencia nunca perdemos el centro de la historia que es el trauma de nuestras protagonistas y cómo eso afecta a más personas. Se tocan temas de bisexualidad de forma ligera y muy bien llevada, no se siente forzado. El tiroteo y la clara protesta ante las pocas medidas que en la vida real se toman sobre el acceso a las armas son abordados de la mejor forma que existe. No son muy gráficos y la película te lleva poco a poco a donde quiere. Las luces, los escenarios y el movimiento de la cámara según el tono de las escenas me encantaron. Me hace pensar en el gran potencial que sin duda tiene la directora.
“The Fallout” es una película ligera con un mensaje muy potente, la trataron de forma espectacular en mi opinión y es algo que todos deberíamos ver.
