Review | Tinker Bell: A magical Disney saga [ENG-ESP]

For some days I felt the nostalgia and the need to re-watch some series or movies from my childhood, I didn't know where to start, at least I knew I wanted it to be some Disney production... finally, I ended up deciding to re-watch the Tinker Bell saga.

I think this is a modus generalis review of all the movies, focusing especially on the main character and her qualities. I hope you enjoy the post. :)

This character first appeared in the Peter Pan movies, and always had a featured appearance, you may even remember seeing her in the commercial breaks on Disney, so I'm very glad that this channel has taken the task of dedicating a whole series of movies for this character, so we could know more about her and her great little world.

From a baby's first laugh a fairy comes into the world. So begins the story of Tinker Bell and her introduction to the land of fairies, where she discovers that her talent is to be a fairy craftswoman, with creativity and ability to create artifacts and gadgets. Everyone welcomes her with open arms, and she meets what will be her best friends, each with a different talent.

We will meet Clank and Bobble, craft fairies, Silvermist, water fairy, Rossetta, nature fairy, Iridessa, light fairy, Fawn, animal fairy, and Vidia, fast flying fairy. But there are many more talents that will be introduced to us in each film, such as the healing fairies, the winter fairies (this season has a range of talents appropriate to the environment), the storm fairies, and so on.

One of the main lessons that this film teaches us is that of self-worth, and it happens that in the first film Tink doubts the genius of her talent, she is fascinated by the incredible skills that her friends have and tries to "exchange" her talent for another one... however, she soon realizes that it is not possible and proudly accepts what she is and what she does, because it is undeniable that Tinker Bell is a very talented fairy and she builds fascinating things.

When I was younger, I remember that what I liked most about her was her ingenuity. If anything defines Tinker Bell, it is her curiosity, something that creative people share is ingenuity and interest in the world around them. It is not usual for fairies to like things related to humans, since they are in great danger if their existence is known, but Tink's fascination for the unknown is enormous, on a coast near the land of the fairies she discovers that many human objects arrive, which she calls "lost objects" (they can be jewelry, buttons, cutlery, and many more), which she takes and finds a way to give them a use in her creations.

I would say that all the films are delightful to watch, some moved me more than others, but the magic and adventure is never lacking. In chronological order are:

Tinker Bell (2008) ; Tinker Bell: The Lost Treasure (2009) ; Tinker Bell: The Great Fairy Rescue (2009) ; Tinker Bell: The Secret of the Wings (2012) ; Tinker Bell: The Pirate Fairy (2014) ; Tinker Bell: Legend of the NeverBeast (2015).

If I think about it, my favorite movies of this saga are Tinker Bell: The Secret of the Wings. In this movie, Tink learns that she has a sister, but she is a winter fairy and so she never knew about it, so she tries her best to get to know her and her world. This movie moves me to no end, especially when the song "The Separation" plays in the middle of the plot, when she spends a whole day with her sister and feels that she is happier than ever, I remember when I was little I used to sing that song a lot.

And, another of my favorites is Tinker Bell: The Pirate Fairy. In this movie the blue dust is stolen and the fairies have to recover it or there will be serious consequences for the life in Fairyland; I didn't remember much the plot of this movie, but when I watched it again, I enjoyed it a lot, I would say it has a more dynamic plot than the others, it is very interesting how the fairies end up with their powers exchanged and how they must learn to use them to face the pirates and recover the blue dust, besides, I noticed that there are many references to Peter Pan... Something tells me that the pirate captain is a very young Captain Hook.

These movies do not last more than 80 minutes, which did not bother me too much, since I could watch a movie in my break time or before going to sleep; however, I did regret the fact that the problems that were generated were solved very quickly and almost predictable, I guess I'm used to more complex stories, but it's Disney, I do not expect much from their productions.

What I do value is that this movie leaves important lessons, the most outstanding I would say is the importance of the value of friendship. In each film the most striking thing is the fraternity that exists in the land of the fairies, they all unite their talents and work hard to collaborate with each other to have a good life and also to prepare to bring the change of the seasons to the earth.

As for technical aspects, the animation is very nice, it is not spectacular considering other Disney productions, but I feel it is very good, especially because there are beautiful scenes, which are a real visual pleasure to watch, some others are emotional and, the truth is I don't know if I have taken my sensitivity too far, but there were some scenes that made me cry.

Por algunos días sentí la nostalgia y la necesidad de volver a ver algunas series o películas de mi infancia, no sabía muy bien por dónde empezar, al menos sabía que quería que fuera alguna producción de Disney… finalmente, terminé por decidir volver a ver la saga de Tinker Bell.

Creo que esta es una reseña a modus general de todas las películas, enfocándome especialmente en el personaje principal y sus cualidades. Espero que disfruten del post. :)

Este personaje apareció por primera vez en las películas de Peter Pan, y siempre tuvo una aparición destacada, incluso quizá pueden recordar verla en las pausas comerciales en Disney, así que me alegra mucho que este canal se haya tomado la tarea de dedicar toda una serie de películas para este personaje, para que pudiéramos conocer más sobre ella y su pequeño gran mundo.

De la primera risa de un bebé un hada llega al mundo. Así empieza la historia de Tinker Bell y su introducción a la tierra de las hadas, donde descubre que su talento es ser un hada artesana, con creatividad y habilidad para crear artefactos y artilugios. Todo el mundo la recibe con los brazos abiertos, y conoce a las que serán sus mejores amigas, cada una con un talento diferente.

Pero hay muchísimos talentos más que en cada película se nos serán presentados, como las hadas curanderas, las hadas de invierno (esta estación tiene una gama de talentos adecuado al ambiente), las hadas de las tormentas, etc.

Una de las principales lecciones que nos regala esta película es la del valor propio, y es que ocurre que en la primera película Tink duda de la genialidad de su talento, se siente fascinada por las habilidades increíbles que tienen sus amigas e intenta “canjear” su talento por otro… sin embargo, pronto se da cuenta que no es posible y acepta con orgullo lo que es y lo que hace, porque es innegable que Tinker Bell es un hada muy talentosa y construye cosas fascinantes.

Cuando era más pequeña, recuerdo que lo que más me gustaba de ella era su ingenio. Si algo define a Tinker Bell, es su curiosidad, algo que comparten las personas creativas es el ingenio y su interés por el mundo que les rodea. No es usual que a las hadas les gusten las cosas relacionadas con los humanos, ya que corren mucho peligro si se llega a saber de su existencia, pero la fascinación de Tink por lo desconocido es enorme, y en una costa cercana a la tierra de las hadas descubre que llegan muchísimos objetos humanos, los cuales ella llama “objetos perdidos” (pueden ser joyas, botones, cubiertos, y muchas más), que ella toma y encuentra una manera de darles utilidad dentro de sus creaciones.

Diría que todas las películas son encantadoras de ver, algunas me conmovieron más que otras, pero la magia y la aventura nunca faltan. En orden cronológico se encuentran:

Si lo pienso bien, mis películas favoritas de esta saga son Tinker Bell: El secreto de las hadas. En esta película, Tink se entera que tiene una hermana, pero ella es un hada del invierno y por eso nunca lo había sabido, así que trata de hacer todo lo posible por conocerla y también conocer su mundo. Esta pelicula me conmueve a más no poder, especialmente cuando suena la canción “La Separación” a mitad de la trama, cuando pasa un día entero con su hermana y siente que es más feliz que nunca, recuerdo que de pequeña cantaba muchísimo esa canción.

Y, otra de mis favoritas es Tinker Bell: Hadas y Piratas. En esta película el polvillo azul es hurtado y las hadas tienen que recuperarlo o habrán graves consecuencias para la vida en la Tierra de las Hadas; no recordaba mucho la trama de esta película, pero cuando la volví a ver, la disfruté un montón, diría que tiene una trama más dinámica que las otras, es muy interesante como las hadas acaban con sus poderes intercambiados y como deben aprender a usarlos para poder enfrentarse a los piratas y recuperar el polvillo azul, además, noté que hay muchísimas referencias a Peter Pan… Algo me dice que el pirata capitán se trata de un Capitán Garfio muy joven.

Estas películas no duran más de 80 minutos, lo cual no me molestó demasiado, ya que podía ver alguna película en mi hora de descanso o antes de dormir; sin embargo, sí lamenté el hecho de que los problemas que se generaban se lograban solucionar de forma muy rápida y casi predecible, supongo que estoy acostumbrada a historias más complejas, pero es Disney, no espero mucho de sus producciones.

Lo que sí valoro es que esta película deja lecciones importantes, los más destacados diría que es la importancia del valor de la amistad. En cada película lo más vistoso es la fraternidad que hay en la tierra de las hadas, todas unen su talento y trabajan arduamente para colaborar los unos a los otros a tener una buena vida y también para prepararse para llevar el cambio de las estaciones a la tierra.

En cuanto a aspectos técnicos, la animación es muy linda, no es espectacular considerando otras producciones de Disney, pero siento que está muy bien, especialmente porque hay escenas preciosas, que son un verdadero placer visual de ver, algunas otras, son emotivas y, la verdad no sé si he llevado mi sensibilidad muy lejos, pero hubo unas cuentas escenas que me hicieron lagrimear.

Si pudieran ser un hada, ¿Qué talento les gustaría tener? En mi caso, siempre me ha gustado lo que hacen las hadas del agua, así que escogería ser una de ellas sin dudarlo.
