Fallout (2024): How Posters can be Spoilers

If I say teasers and trailers can be spoilers everyone is going to understand, but maybe not really when it comes to posters.

But posters can really be spoilers too, and an example is how this Fallout poster spoilt the movie for me to some extent.

Specifically the guy in the armor:

When we first met the guy in the movie he was a lowly cadet in training called "aspirant". He wasn't fit to wear the armor, he was a very long way from it.

But because of the poster all the suspense about his story was lost on me. Because it was clear that he's going to wear the armor soon.

Then there came a time when he was in grave danger inside a cave, I didn't feel the suspense I was supposed to feel because I knew he wasn't going to die. Why? Because the poster showed him wearing the armor, he hasn't worn it yet in the movie so how's he gonna die?

Then he wore it later on, he took it "illegally" even though he wasn't fit to wear it.

Then while wearing it he got in a number of other great dangers but I didn't enjoy the suspense like I was supposed to because even though he had worn it he had never walked about in it with his face exposed like in the poster. He had it on completely including the helmet-like face covering.

It wasn't until he had his face exposed that I felt it was enough and that I don't know what's going to happen to him anymore and I was able to soak in the suspense more properly when he got in danger.

It was kinda painful for me to have something that reduced the suspense for me because I like to enjoy a story full heartedly. I like to not know anything about a story before watching it.

And unfortunately I'm an over thinker who is good at applying knowledge. Lol. (I applied the knowledge of him in a suit so well and quickly from the begining of the movie).

Also, luckily there was too much suspense and twists in this movie that that was more than made-up for.
