watch one episode just to see if you identify with what I said above. For me, it is just a given that I am going to be interested in anything set in Roman times or almost anything that Hopkins is in. The fact that they had both of these things and still managed to kind of screw it up is just astounding to me.

I will watch one episode, but it is a shame because this should be so good.
it had the potential to be but they just didn't put enough into the things they should have or maybe bit off a lot more than they could chew. The CGI is constant and not very good. Poor casting decisions didn't help.
One big name does not make a hit and casting is key. Shogun was brilliant yet I had never seen the actors before and the script was brilliant.
that is a very good point. I kind of recognize the main Caucasian actor but I wasn't sure where I had seen him before. There are a lot of talented actors and actresses out there that people don't recognize.
