While it wasn't one of the most beloved characters in the franchise, you have to agree that Paul Rudd's work as Scott Lang (Ant Man) was excellent. The film was produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. The cast includes actors such as Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lily, Corey Stoll, Bobby Cannavale and Michael Peña. A unique combination of humor, science fiction, action and lots of ants.

Hola amantes de los superhéroes. El día de hoy les quiero compartir mi opinión acerca de una película de otro de los héroes más reconocidos de Marvel Cómics, Ant-Man (el Hombre Hormiga). Si bien no fue uno de los personajes más queridos de la franquicia, hay que aceptar que el trabajo de Paul Rudd como Scott Lang (Ant Man) estuvo excelente. La película fue producida por Marvel Studios y distribuida por Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. Plot

The film opens several decades ago with scientist Hank Pym (the original Ant-Man) arguing with the director of S.H.I.E.L.D. about attempts to clone his technology, which he thinks is too dangerous in the wrong hands. He decides to leave the organization and take his technology with him. In the present day, he is forced by his daughter, Hope van Dyne, and his former protégé, Darren Cross, to leave his own company, Pym Technologies. Meanwhile, Cross manages to create a shrinking suit called Yellowjaket, as an attempt to replicate Pym's very complex technology.

On the other hand, Scott Lang is released from prison, after being captured for a robbery he did. His former prison mate, Luis, takes him to his new home, where he lives together with his buddies, Dave and Kurt. Due to some personal problems with his current ex-wife, Scott goes to see his daughter, Cassie, who is just a child and who, due to being in prison, was unable to provide the required child support. With no job, no family and no money, our ex-thief and electrical engineer accepts a proposal made by his new partner to enter a house to steal what is inside a safe, which has only an old motorcycle suit with a strange helmet. This suit and this house belongs to none other than Hank Pym.

Despite not being a big fan of Ant-Man, I admit that the few times I've seen this movie I've been quite entertained. Whether it was the combination of humor, the amazing computer-made special effects and the incredible scenes it has; I liked this film quite a bit, regardless of it being from Marvel Studios. But, compared to the other movies that have been released so far, this one is a far cry from everything you normally know from the typical superhero story. The characters are well developed, with a sense of humor and personalities that are quite infectious.

The main character, Scott Lang, is very different from most other protagonists in films in this franchise. He is not a genius, a superhuman or even a demigod, he is a simple human, an ex-criminal looking to redeem himself from his past, looking for money and a quiet life. While he has nothing that makes him special, his personality and way of being is quite infectious. I admit that Paul Rudd did an excellent job playing a character so carefree and yet somewhat charismatic, giving him that touch of humor that identifies him quite a bit. The other characters are also well done, especially Michael Douglas and Evangeline Lily, who play two very different personalities, despite being father and daughter (one is a genius who seeks to protect his technology and the other is an aspiring heir to that power or legacy).

A pesar de no ser muy fan de Ant-Man, admito que las pocas veces que he visto esta película me he entretenido bastante. Ya sea por la combinación de humor, los increíbles efectos especiales hechos por computadora y las increíbles escenas que tiene; esta cinta me gustó bastante, independientemente de que sea de Marvel Studios. Pero, en comparación con las otras películas que se han estrenado hasta entonces, esta se aleja mucho de todo lo que normalmente uno conoce de la típica historia de superhéroes. Los personajes están bien desarrollados, con un sentido del humor y personalidades que contagian bastante.

El protagonista, Scott Lang, es muy distinto al de la mayoría de otros protagonistas de películas de esta franquicia. Si bien no tiene nada que lo haga especial, su personalidad y forma de ser contagia bastante. Admito que Paul Rudd hizo un excelente trabajo al interpretar a un personaje tan despreocupado y a la vez un tanto carismático, dándole ese toque suyo de humor que lo identifica bastante. Los demás personajes están también bien hechos, sobre todo Michael Douglas y Evangeline Lily, los cuales interpretan dos personalidades muy diferentes, a pesar de ser padre e hija (uno es un genio que busca proteger su tecnología y la otra es una aspirante a ser la heredera de dicho poder o legado).

The mix of comedy with science fiction and action is perfect, as well as the relationships we see between the characters, which give it that bittersweet touch that draws the audience's attention. A thief who ends up being the next Ant-Man, a daughter who sought to be recognized by her eccentric and ingenious father and a scientist who seeks to take care of his technology so that it does not fall into the wrong hands. On the other hand, the villain, while having an acceptably good origin, this being a former protégé of the same creator and original Ant-Man, this becomes one of his most dangerous threats. The struggle of good over evil, in this case, we see it with consequences that are on a tiny, almost molecular scale.

And speaking of tiny, what surprises me most is how they managed to replicate the power of the comic book Ant-Man so well, shrinking and growing in a way that looks spectacular. The shots and sequences with computer-made locations and characters are perfectly done, with top-notch CGI and special effects, just as Marvel Studios could manage to do back then, their best era. Finally, the soundtrack that this movie has is very good, being a film not so dramatic but not so humorous either, it is acceptable. And of course, the success it had is so remarkable that even today it is still remembered in popular culture. A film a little different from most superhero movies.

Personally, I give it a rating of 8/10 as far as the sci-fi/comedy/action genre is concerned.

La mezcla de comedia con ciencia ficción y acción es perfecta, así como también las relaciones que vemos entre los personajes, los cuales le dan ese toque agridulce que llama bastante la atención al público. Un ladrón que termina siendo el siguiente Ant-Man, una hija que buscaba ser reconocida por su excéntrico e ingenioso padre y un científico que busca cuidar de su tecnología para que no caiga en las manos equivocadas. Por otro lado, el villano, si bien tiene un origen aceptablemente bueno, siendo este un ex-protegido del mismo creador y Ant-Man original, este se convierte en una de sus amenazas más peligrosas. La lucha del bien por el mal, en este caso, lo vemos con consecuencias que son de escala diminuta, casi molecular.

Y hablando de diminuto, lo que más me sorprende es cómo lograron replicar tan bien el poder del Ant-Man de los cómics, encogiéndose y creciendo de una forma que se ve espectacular. Los planos y las secuencias con lugares y personajes hechos a computadora están perfectamente hechos, con un CGI y unos efectos especiales de primera calidad, tal y como Marvel Studios pudo conseguir hacer en aquel entonces, su mejor época. Por último, la banda sonora que tiene esta película es muy buena, al ser una cinta no tan dramática pero tampoco tan humorista, es aceptable. Y claro, el éxito que tuvo es tan notable que aún a la fecha de hoy sigue siendo recordado en la cultura popular. Una película un poco distinta a la de la mayoría de superhéroes.

Personalmente, le doy una calificación de 8/10 en lo que respecta al género de ciencia ficción, comedia y acción.
