Today I was looking for some movie to watch and a recommendation came to me as if it was the movie destined to see and it's quite funny because this movie talks a lot about the theme of destiny, so it couldn't be a coincidence that I saw it, I have already said in other opportunities that I don't have much faith in Netflix movies because of many I have come across and I didn't like them at all, but I'm always willing to give them a chance hoping that it surprises me, so today I want to tell you about my opinion about "Love at First Sight".

This movie was recently released, on September 15, 2023 to be exact and by the name I think it is not difficult to realize that it is a romantic story or at least it was what I thought with that title, in this new story that Netflix presents us (which is based on a 2011 novel with the same name) we will meet Hadley and Oliver, two people who coincided by chance (or by chance of fate) at the airport and in these few hours they share together the hint of love arises until they must separate at the end of the flight.
Let's talk a little more in depth about the film, it begins in a narrated way about who will be our protagonist named Hadley and the circumstances she is going through, since she arrived 4 minutes late, which made her miss her flight to London, but the person who narrates tells us immediately that perhaps the reason for missing the flight was a matter of fate because she will soon meet a guy, but also clarifies from the beginning that this is not a love story, it is a story about fate.

Hadley is a girl who is always late everywhere and this has caused her many problems throughout her life, but on this occasion it seems to have been a reason for luck, because thanks to that she ends up buying another ticket to London that will leave in a few hours. His phone is discharged, so she goes to a place where she can charge it, but everyone is busy and this is where we meet our other protagonist, Oliver, who offers him to use his charger, while they look at each other straight in the eyes for the first time.
A connection arises immediately, both in the sense of humor, and the way of thinking of the other really seems to complement each other, so Oliver decides to invite her to lunch (while waiting for the time to take off as he is also heading to London) and Hadley accepts, they spend a very pleasant time asking each other questions and the reason why each one is going to London, she must attend the wedding of her father who is getting married again with his new girlfriend, while he doesn't give much information, but Hadley jokes if he is also attending a wedding because of the kind of clothes she is wearing with him, to which he returns the joke and they just laugh.

When it is time to board the plane, both leave in a hurry and arrive just in time, here both say goodbye because they have seats far apart, but as if it were fate, they end up sitting together the whole trip, so they have more time to get to know each other and this only increases these emotions of love, but once they arrive, they are forced to separate at customs and with no possibility of contacting each other, because they only know the little they mentioned to each other.

I will start my opinion being very honest and saying that I loved this movie, I really loved it, the story was a journey of emotions that made me enjoy all the time with each of the events that happened, I feel that the story is very well constructed (I don't know about the novel on which it is based so I can't say if it is faithful or not) and it doesn't have moments of filler, the whole story is a perfect plot thread of what they want to convey about destiny and I found it a very interesting concept for the way they raise it, so the story seems perfect from beginning to end, plus the way of telling it (through narrations at certain times) I thought it was great.
Another thing to mention are the characters, although clearly there are others besides the main characters, I want to focus only on Hadley and Oliver, I really think they have a very good chemistry, you can feel the connection from the first moment they see each other and in many occasions this is something difficult to find in other movies, so I consider that this adds much more weight to it and makes you feel that everything that is happening is completely real, as if you were a mere spectator of a beautiful story to be born.

Another thing I loved was the sense of humor, romance and comedy movies usually go hand in hand, but in many occasions it seems to me a very forced humor, but on the contrary in this one, all the moments of humor are in spontaneous moments, nothing feels faked, besides being a very innocent sense of humor, so the film takes you by the hand in the most tender way to keep you aware of what happens and I really loved that, because as I say, it makes us feel like we are living what is happening for ourselves.
Honestly I have nothing to criticize the movie in a negative way, I am completely in love with the movie, its characters, the story and every scene that made me feel so many emotions, because we will find everything here, have no doubt about that, so if you have the opportunity to see it as soon as you see this review do not hesitate, I'm sure you will thank me after all, in my opinion and according to my tastes in terms of romance and comedy movies, I consider this as a gem that could perfectly be one of the best, today it has become my favorite Netflix movie.

El día de hoy estuve buscando alguna película que ver y una recomendación llegó a mí como si fuese la película destinada a ver y es bastante gracioso porque ésta película habla mucho del tema del destino, por lo que no pudo ser una coincidencia que la viera, ya he dicho en otras oportunidades que no le tengo mucha fe a las películas de Netflix por muchas con las que me he cruzado y no me han gustado para nada, pero siempre estoy dispuesto a darles una oportunidad esperando que me sorprenda, así que el día de hoy quiero hablarles de mi opinión acerca de “La probabilidad estadística del amor a primera vista”.

Esta película se estrenó recientemente, el 15 de septiembre del 2023 para ser exacto y por el nombre creo que tiene no es difícil darse cuenta que es una historia romántica o al menos fue lo que yo pensé con ése título, en esta nueva historia que nos presenta Netflix (la cual está basada en una novela del 2011 con el mismo nombre) conoceremos a Hadley y a Oliver, dos personas que coincidieron por casualidad (o por azares del destino) en el aeropuerto y en estas pocas horas que comparten juntos surge el indicio de amor hasta que deben separarse al finalizar el vuelo.
Hablemos un poco más a profundidad de la película, esta comienza de una manera narrada sobre quién será nuestra protagonista llamada Hadley y las circunstancias que está pasando, ya que llegó 4 minutos tarde, lo que hizo que perdiera su vuelo con destino a Londres, pero la persona que nos narra nos dice de inmediato que quizás el motivo para perder el vuelo haya sido cosa del destino porque pronto conocerá a un chico, pero también nos aclara desde un principio que esta no es una historia de amor, es una historia sobre el destino.

Hadley es una chica que siempre llega tarde a todos los lugares y esto le ha causado muchos problemas a lo largo de su vida, pero en esta ocasión parece que ha sido motivo de suerte, ya que gracias a eso termina comprando otro boleto con destino a Londres que saldrá en algunas horas. Su teléfono está descargado, por lo que se dirige a un lugar donde poder cargarlo, pero todos están ocupados y aquí es donde conocemos a nuestro otro protagonista, Oliver, quien le ofrece que utilice su cargador, mientras se ven uno al otro directo a los ojos por primera vez.
Surge una conexión de inmediato, tanto en el sentido del humor, como la forma de pensar del otro realmente parece que se complementan, por lo que Oliver decide invitarle a comer (mientras esperan la hora de despegar ya que él también se dirige a Londres) y Hadley acepta, pasan un rato muy ameno haciéndose preguntas y el motivo por el cuál cada uno se dirige a Londres, ella debe asistir a la boda de su padre quien se casa nuevamente con su nueva novia, mientras él no da mucha información, pero Hadley bromea si también asiste a una boda por el tipo de ropa que lleva con él, a lo que él devuelve la broma y sólo ríen.

Cuando ya es hora de abordar el avión, ambos salen apresurados y llegan justo a tiempo, aquí ambos se despiden por tener asientos alejados, pero como si fuera cosa del destino, terminan sentándose juntos todo el viaje, por lo que tienen más tiempo de conocerse y esto sólo hace que aumenten estas emociones de amor, pero una vez que llegan, se ven obligados a separarse en la aduana y sin posibilidades de contactarse el uno del otro, pues sólo conocen lo poco que se mencionaron entre sí.

Empezaré mi opinión siendo muy honesto y diciendo que amé esta película, realmente me encantó, la historia fue un viaje de emociones que me hizo disfrutar todo el tiempo con cada uno de los acontecimientos que ocurrían, siento que la historia está muy bien construida (desconozco sobre cómo sea la novela en la que está basada por lo que no puedo decir si es fiel o no) y no tiene momentos de relleno, toda la historia es un perfecto hilo argumental de lo que quieren transmitir sobre el destino y estoy me pareció un concepto muy interesante por la manera en que lo plantean, por lo que la historia me parece perfecta de principio a fin, además que la manera de contarla (a través de narraciones en ciertos momentos) me pareció estupendo.
Otra cosa a mencionar son los personajes, aunque claramente hay otros aparte de los protagonistas, me quiero centrar sólo en Hadley y Oliver, realmente me parece que tienen una química muy buena, se puede sentir la conexión desde el primer momento que se ven y en muchas ocasiones esto es algo difícil de encontrarse en otras películas, por lo que considero que esto añade mucho más peso a la misma y te hace sentir que todo lo que está sucediendo es completamente real, como si tú fueses un mero espectador de una hermosa historia por nacer.

Otra de las cosas que me encantó fue el sentido del humor, las películas de romance y comedia suelen ir de la mano, pero en muchas ocasiones me parece un humor muy metido a la fuerza, pero todo lo contrario en esta, todos los momentos de humor son en momentos espontáneos, nada se siente fingido, además de ser un sentido del humor bastante inocente, por lo que la película te lleva de la mano de la forma más tierna para mantenerte al pendiente de lo que sucede y realmente eso me encantó, porque como bien digo, nos hace sentir el estar viviendo lo que sucede por nosotros mismos.
Honestamente no tengo nada que criticar de la película de forma negativa, estoy completamente enamorado de la película, de sus personajes, de la historia y de cada unas escenas que me hicieron sentir tantas emociones, porque encontraremos de todo aquí, no tengan dudas de eso, por lo que si tienen la oportunidad de verla apenas vean esta reseña no lo duden, estoy seguro que me lo van a agradecer después de todo, a mí parecer y según mis gustos en cuanto a las películas de romance y comedia, considero esta como una joya que perfectamente podría ser de las mejores, el día de hoy se ha convertido en mi favorita de las películas de Netflix.

La termine de ver hace un ratito y estoy totalmente de acuerdo con tu opinión de ella. Me pareció muy linda y ellos dos muy tiernos, esa química traspasaba la pantalla. La verdad es que fue muy linda película y hacia mucho que no me pasaba lo de terminar una y querer verla de nuevo, que fue lo que me sucedió, pero no lo hice 🤭.
Leí la novela cuando vi el trailer hace un mes más o menos porque me gusta eso del amor a primera vista. Puedo decir que como adaptación cambiaron muchaaas cosas, pero la verdad es que no me importó porque me pareció genial y sin dudas va a estar entre mis favoritas del año ✨
Realmente es una historia muy buena y ya que mencionas que cambiaron muchas cosas, aún así me parece una buena adaptación por el hecho de funcionar de manera independiente, pocas producciones pueden hacerlo.
