A couple of months ago I decided to start a certain routine of trying to watch at least one animated movie that many people may consider a classic, I did this in order to relive these moments I lived as a child and also to give me the pleasure of watching a movie that I have not seen at the time, but this time I decided to watch a movie I saw many years ago and I remember it fondly, so welcome to this new review dear lovers of movies and TV series, today I want to talk about the movie called "UP", let's start with the review.

This movie, released on June 5, 2009, is an American production that belongs to the genre of action, adventure, comedy, drama and of course animation, where we will find a varied story with different characters very different from each other. Here we will follow the story of our protagonist Carl, an elderly widower who after multiple events decides to fulfill one of his dreams and also one of the promises he made to his late wife to travel to meet the Paradise Falls, but does so in an unexpected way, traveling in his houseboat with the help of many balloons, but discovers a small boy scout who mistakenly ends up being part of this dramatic journey.
What happens in the movie?
Let's talk a little about what happens in the movie. The film begins many years ago in the childhood of our protagonist Carl, here he was a little boy who enjoyed the adventures of a famous explorer, but he was accused of having made a skeleton of a strange animal, so the famous explorer decided to go back to this fantastic place to find a living species, swearing not to return until he achieved it. Thanks to the adventures of this explorer, Carl was also a fan of adventures and this love led him to meet a little girl named Ellie, who was also a fan of the famous explorer, which made them have an immediate connection, in addition, Ellie made Carl promise her to help him fulfill his plan to take his club to a cliff very close to Paradise Falls.

After this promise, we move forward in time at different times. Here we see Carl and Ellie as newlyweds. They both bought an abandoned house that they used as their clubhouse, decided to fix it up and make it their dream house. As time went by, their marriage was stronger and they decided to have a baby, so they set up a room to wait for its arrival, but bad news arrives and although they do not explain in detail what happened, we can understand that they have lost the baby and it is no longer possible to have another one. This was undoubtedly a hard blow for both, but harder for Ellie, so Carl decides to remind her of her dream of traveling, so they decide to save enough to do it and although both do their part, everything saved always ends up being spent on any other need that arises.

Fast forward many more years and there comes a tragic moment. Ellie, already old, suddenly falls ill and they cannot find a way to save her, so she dies and Carl was never able to keep his promise, which clearly affected him deeply. We come to the present of this story, here we meet a 78 year old Carl, who after the death of his wife became more lonely and grumpy, but stays in the same house. Many things have changed, apparently they want to buy Carl's house to destroy it and build new things, but Carl refuses. Because of a series of incidents, Carl injures a worker by accident and this ends with a court order for Carl to vacate his house and go to a nursing home where he cannot be a danger to people.
While Carl was preparing his things, he finds a notebook that reminds him of the promise he made to his late wife, so he decides to inflate tens of thousands of balloons with helium, this with the intention of making his house become a floating house with which to travel to the place of the promise and although this crazy plan really works raising his house, he does not realize that he also brought with him a little boy scout, which days before had insisted Carl to help him in anything he needed to achieve his last medal. Thus, without having planned it, Russell (the little boy scout), is his only companion in his greatest adventure.

My opinion about the movie
From this point I want to talk only about my opinion regarding the movie, starting with the story. From the beginning we are presented with several stories, starting with the main characters, also the famous explorer and finally the little boy and although it may not seem so, all these stories have a connection in the main story, which in my personal opinion makes it a very dynamic story that has many interesting factors and that, although there may be certain references to other films, the emotional and mature way (plus a little fantasy) certainly give it a very entertaining and very meaningful plot for the viewer.
In most occasions animated movies can be seen as children's movies and certainly in this one we will find a quite innocent style of comedy, I mean, the jokes both verbal and visual are very easy to understand and honestly I thought it was a good idea, because in a movie that is loaded with so many emotions, the comic relief is a good way to maintain a contrast between these moments of seriousness that are appreciated throughout the film, with these other moments that can certainly bring a smile every minute with the tenderness and innocence of the characters.

Talking a little more about the characters I would like to mention that, although we do not have an extensive list of characters, the few that accompany us throughout the story undoubtedly end up winning a place in our hearts, either by their personal history, their actions, their jokes or simply by their appearance. I would dare to say that my favorite characters are not the main characters, but the secondary characters that you will discover as you advance in the film and the reason for this is simple, the secondary characters give movement to the film, they give this contrast of which I mentioned before, but without taking away the protagonism of the main characters, so they maintain an excellent balance between them and their great differences.
Finally I want to emphasize one of the most important things in the film and this is the amount of emotional charge that we find in the story, although it is something that I have been mentioning before, I think it is right to say that the way emotions are shown in this film is the most striking, besides having a spiral of changing emotions, because throughout the film we will have constant changes and reflections, ways of seeing life and also to face the problems, but all this with a final message that encompasses all the events of the beginning and giving closure to each character and allowing the development of others. Personally the movie seems excellent to me, it has many important aspects to be one of those movies that its story stays with you over the years, so if you have not seen it, I invite you to do so is a genius of animation and meaningful stories, so my personal rating would be a 5 out of 5, it is even better than I remembered it as a child.

I also end by mentioning a very important aspect that I did not want to overlook and that is the animation, undoubtedly a good story must be accompanied by a good presentation and the quality of the animation seems great, I would say that we see beautiful landscapes and situations with a style that surpasses many of the current animated films, although this may be debatable according to taste. Hace un par de meses decidí iniciar cierta rutina de intentar ver al menos una película animada que muchas personas pueden considerar un clásico, esto lo hice con la finalidad de revivir estos momentos que viví de pequeño y también para darme el placer de ver alguna película que no haya visto en su momento, pero en esta ocasión decidí ver una película que vi hace muchos años y la recuerdo con mucho cariño, por lo que sean bienvenidos a esta nueva reseña queridos amantes del cine y las series de televisión, el día de hoy quiero hablarles de la película llamada “Up: una aventura de altura”, comencemos con la reseña.

Esta película, estrenada el 5 de junio del año 2009, es una producción estadounidense que pertenece al género de acción, aventura, comedia, drama y por supuesto animación, donde encontraremos una historia variada con distintos personajes muy diferentes entre sí. Aquí seguiremos la historia de nuestro protagonista Carl, un viudo de edad avanzada quien luego de múltiples sucesos decide cumplir uno de sus sueños y también una de las promesas que le hizo a su difunta esposa de viajar a conocer las Cataratas del Paraíso, pero lo hace de una manera inesperada, viajando en su casa flotante con la ayuda de muchos globos, pero descubre a un pequeño niño explorador que por error termina siendo parte de este dramático viaje.
¿Qué sucede en la película?
Hablemos un poco de lo que sucede en la película. La película comienza muchos años atrás en la infancia de nuestro protagonista Carl, aquí era un pequeño niño que disfrutaba de las aventuras de un famoso explorador, pero este fue acusado de haber fabricado un esqueleto de un extraño animal, por lo que el famoso explorador decidió ir de nuevo a este fantástico lugar a encontrar una especie viva, jurando no regresar hasta lograrlo. Gracias a las aventuras de este explorador, Carl también era un fanático de las aventuras y este amor lo llevó a conocer a una pequeña niña llamada Ellie, quien también era fanática del explorador famoso, lo que hizo que tuviesen una conexión inmediata, además, Ellie hizo que Carl le prometiese que le ayudaría a cumplir su plan de llevar su club a un acantilado muy cerca de las Cataratas del Paraíso.

Luego de esta promesa, avanzamos en el tiempo en diferentes ocasiones. Aquí vemos a Carl y Ellie recién casados. Ambos compraron una casa abandonada que utilizaban como cede de su club, decidieron repararla y así hacerla la casa de sus sueños. Acorde el tiempo pasaba, su matrimonio era más fuerte y decidieron tener un bebé, por lo que ambientaron un cuarto para esperar su llegada, pero una mala noticia llega y aunque no nos explican detalladamente lo que sucedió, podemos entender que han perdido al bebé y ya no es posible volver a tener otro. Esto sin dudas fue un golpe duro para ambos, pero más fuerte para Ellie, por lo que Carl decide recordarle su sueño de viajar, por lo que deciden ahorrar lo suficiente para hacerlo y aunque ambos ponen de su parte, todo lo ahorrado termina siempre siendo gastado en cualquier otra necesidad que vaya surgiendo.

Avanzamos muchos años más y llega un momento trágico. Ellie ya anciana, enferma repentinamente y no pueden encontrar la manera de salvarla, por lo que fallece y Carl nunca pudo cumplir su promesa, lo que claramente le afectó profundamente. Llegamos al presente de esta historia, aquí conocemos a un Carl de 78 años, quien luego de la muerte de su esposa se volvió más solitario y gruñón, pero se mantiene en la misma casa. Muchas cosas han cambiado, al parecer quieren comprarle la casa a Carl para destruirla y construir nuevas cosas, pero Carl se niega. Por una serie de incidentes, Carl hiere a un trabajador por accidente y esto termina con una orden judicial para que Carl desalojara su casa y dirigirse a un ancianato donde no pueda ser un peligro para las personas.
Mientras Carl preparaba sus cosas, encuentra un cuaderno que le recuerda la promesa que le hizo a su difunta esposa, por lo que decide inflar decenas de miles de globos con helio, esto con la intención de hacer que su casa se vuelva una casa flotante con la cual viajar hasta el lugar de la promesa y aunque este loco plan realmente funciona elevando su casa, no se percata de que también trajo consigo a un pequeño niño explorador, el cual días antes le había insistido a Carl en ayudarle en cualquier cosa que necesitara para lograr conseguir su última medalla. Así, sin haberlo planeado, Russell (el pequeño niño explorador), es su único acompañante en su más grande aventura.

Mi opinión sobre la película
A partir de este punto quiero hablar solo de mi opinión con respecto a la película, comenzando por la historia. Desde un principio se nos van presentando diversas historias, comenzando por los protagonistas, también el famoso explorador y por último el pequeño niño y aunque no lo parezca, todas estas historias tienen una conexión en la historia principal, lo que en mi opinión personal lo hace una historia bastante dinámica que cuenta con muchos factores interesantes y que, aunque pueda haber ciertas referencias a otras películas, la manera tan emocional y tan madura (además de un poco fantasiosa) le dan sin duda una trama bastante entretenida y muy significativa para el espectador.
En la mayoría de ocasiones las películas animadas pueden ser vistas como películas para niños y ciertamente en esta encontraremos un estilo de comedia bastante inocente, quiero decir, los chistes tanto verbales como visuales son muy fáciles de entender y honestamente me pareció una idea acertada, porque en una película que va cargada con tantas emociones, el alivio cómico es una buena manera de mantener un contraste entre estos momentos de seriedad que se van apreciando a lo largo de la película, con estos otros momentos que sin dudas pueden sacar una sonrisa a cada minuto con la ternura e inocencia de los personajes.

Hablando un poco más sobre los personajes me gustaría mencionar que, si bien no contamos con una extensa lista de personajes, los pocos que nos acompañan a lo largo de la historia sin dudas terminan ganándose un lugar en nuestro corazón, ya sea por su historia personal, por sus acciones, por sus chistes o simplemente por su apariencia. Me atrevería a decir que mis personajes favoritos no son los protagonistas, sino los secundarios que irán descubriendo a medida que avancen en la película y la razón de esto es simple, los personajes secundarios le dan movimiento a la película, dan este contraste del cual les mencionaba antes, pero sin quitarle el protagonismo a los principales, por lo que mantienen un excelente equilibrio entre ellos y sus grandes diferencias.
Por último quiero recalcar una de las cosas más importantes en la película y esto es la cantidad de carga emocional que encontramos en la historia, si bien es algo que vengo mencionando anteriormente, me parece que es acertado decir que la manera en que se muestran las emociones en esta película es lo más llamativo, además de contar con una espiral de emociones cambiantes, porque a lo largo de la película tendremos constantes cambios y reflexiones, maneras de ver la vida y también de afrontar los problemas, pero todo esto con un mensaje final que engloba todos los sucesos del principio y dando un cierre a cada personaje y permitiendo el desarrollo de otros. En lo personal la película me parece excelente, cuenta con muchos aspectos importantes para ser una de esas películas que su historia se queda contigo a lo largo de los años, por lo que, si no la han visto, les invito a que lo hagan es una genialidad de la animación y las historias significativas, por lo que mi calificación personal sería un 5 de 5, es incluso mejor de lo que la recordaba de niño.

Finalizo también mencionando un aspecto muy importante que no quise pasar por alto y es la animación, sin dudas una buena historia debe ir acompañada de una buena presentación y la calidad de la animación me parece estupenda, diría que observamos paisajes y situaciones preciosas con un estilo que supera a muchas de las películas animadas actuales, aunque esto puede ser debatible según los gustos. Hasta aquí la reseña, realmente espero que se hayan entretenido y que le den una oportunidad a esta película. La mejor película de amor que he visto en mi vida tanto así que el tema principal de married life aún quiero aprenderlo a tocar en piano es complicado pero sé que algún día lograré
