Hola amigos de la comunidad de Movies & Tv, desde que empezaron a salir las noticias y los vídeos sobre la película La Sociedad de la Nieve siempre tuve la impresión de que iba a ser una historia que además de ser basada en hechos reales, me iba a cambiar la perspectiva de la vida desde el punto de vista del sufrimiento y la fuerza por continuar viviendo de los sobrevivientes de este accidente que causó tanto dolor en las personas que perdieron algún ser querido y los sobrevivientes que tuvieron que enfrentarse a la vida de nuevo dejando todo lo que tuvieron que vivir durante más de dos meses en esas frías y solitarias noches en el medio de la nada. Por eso decidí ver esta película que tiene una duración de dos horas y media y que es de Netflix, así que la pueden encontrar allí por si están interesados en verla.

Hello friends of the Movies & Tv community, since the news and videos about the movie The Snow Society started to come out I always had the impression that it was going to be a story that besides being based on real facts, was going to change my perspective of life from the point of view of the suffering and the strength to continue living of the survivors of this accident that caused so much pain in the people who lost a loved one and the survivors who had to face life again leaving everything they had to live for more than two months in those cold and lonely nights in the middle of nowhere. That's why I decided to watch this movie which is two and a half hours long and is from Netflix, so you can find it there in case you are interested in watching it.

La Sociedad de la Nieve nos cuenta la historia de un grupo de personas, entre ellos unos jóvenes pertenecientes a un grupo de rugby los cuales viajaban desde Uruguay hacia Chile pero en medio de la cordillera de los Andes el avión no soporto la fuerza del viento y la temperatura, es cuando ocurre el accidente en el cuál se desprende la parte de atrás del avión y la frontal cae en medio de la nada. Empiezan a ver quienes habían sobrevivido, quienes quedaron heridos y en qué lugar se encontraban pero no había mucho que pudieran ver más que nieve a su alrededor. Al principio tienen muchas esperanzas por qué escuchan por una radio que hay personas del gobierno buscándolos.

The Snow Society tells the story of a group of people, among them some young people belonging to a rugby group who were traveling from Uruguay to Chile but in the middle of the Andes Mountains the plane could not withstand the force of the wind and the temperature, that is when the accident occurs in which the back of the plane detaches and the front falls in the middle of nowhere. They begin to see who had survived, who was injured and where they were, but there was not much they could see but snow all around them. At first they are very hopeful because they hear on a radio that there are government people looking for them.

Pero los días pasan y las cosas se van poniendo más difíciles, ya no queda sustento para alimentarse y cada vez el frío los arropa más. Empiezan a delirar un poco en medio de la angustia por pensar que nunca podrán salir vivos de esa situación. Entre todos se van ayudando, buscan cosas en medio de la nieve que los pueda ayudar a mantener con vida, entre esas cosas más que todo alimentos y algo con lo que pudieran abrigarse. Dentro de esta situación tan desesperante hay mucha fe en ellos de que las cosas van a salir bien aunque no todos piensan igual ni tienen el mismo aguante ante una situación tan difícil como la que están viviendo.

But the days go by and things are getting more difficult, there is no more food to eat and the cold is getting colder and colder. They begin to get a little delirious in the midst of the anguish of thinking that they will never be able to get out of this situation alive. They look for things in the snow that can help them stay alive, especially food and something to keep them warm. In this desperate situation, there is a lot of faith that things will be all right, although not everyone thinks the same way, nor do they have the same endurance in such a difficult situation as the one they are living through.

Hay días en los que la fe no es suficiente, sobre todo cuando se siente al borde de la muerte y el estómago les grita que necesitan comer algo o morirán. Es allí cuando toman la decisión al principio un poco con amargura y tristeza de comer de los cuerpos de los fallecidos, dos de los sobrevivientes se encargan de elegir los cuerpos y de hacerlo en un lugar en el que los demás no puedan ver de quién es la carne que están comiendo. Aunque hay mucha resistencia ante el hecho de comer carne humana, saben que no tienen otra forma de sobrevivir que haciendo esto aunque no sea bien visto por ellos o por sus creencias religiosas. Es algo sumamente difícil para cualquier persona, saber que tu única opción es recurrir a esto para poder vivir un día más y sin saber si podrás volver a ver a tu familia.

There are days when faith is not enough, especially when they feel on the verge of death and their stomach screams at them that they need to eat something or they will die. It is there when they make the decision at first a bit bitterly and sadly to eat from the bodies of the deceased, two of the survivors are in charge of choosing the bodies and doing it in a place where the others cannot see whose flesh they are eating. Although there is a lot of resistance to eating human flesh, they know that they have no other way to survive than to do this even if it is frowned upon by them or their religious beliefs. It is an extremely difficult thing for anyone to know that your only option is to resort to this in order to live another day and not know if you will ever see your family again.

No quiero llenarlos de spoilers, pero está película es realmente fuerte y puede que hayan todo tipo de opiniones ya que no todos somos sensibles a las mismas cosas. El director y escritor J.A Bayona muestra de una manera muy humana y real sobre el accidente 571 de la Fuerza Aérea Uruguaya en la cordillera de los Andes en el año 1972. Su manera de que las escenas fueran lo más ligadas a la realidad que vivieron los pasajeros de este vuelo fue magnífica, de momentos te sientes tan dentro de la película que las horas se pasan muy rápido a pesar de la tensión que se siente sobre todo cuando las cosas se van poniendo más difíciles o van muriendo más pasajeros. El saber que usaron los nombres reales en esta película de los pasajeros con diferencia a la película Viven según lo que he leído por internet me pareció algo muy acertado y es como una forma de honrar a los sobrevivientes pero sobre todo a los que no lograron salir con vida de ese trágico accidente.

I don't want to fill you with spoilers, but this movie is really strong and there may be all kinds of opinions since not all of us are sensitive to the same things. The director and writer J.A Bayona shows in a very human and real way about the accident 571 of the Uruguayan Air Force in the Andes Mountains in 1972. His way of making the scenes as close as possible to the reality that the passengers of this flight lived was magnificent, at times you feel so much inside the film that the hours go by very fast despite the tension that you feel especially when things get more difficult or when more passengers die. The fact that they used the real names of the passengers in this movie, as opposed to the movie Viven, according to what I have read on the internet, seemed to me to be very accurate and it is a way of honoring the survivors, but especially those who did not make it out of that tragic accident alive.

Los actores estuvieron a la altura de la película y fueron quienes le dieron sentido a toda la historia de lo ocurrido. Podemos ver cómo iban cambiando físicamente a medida que pasaban los días en esa cordillera, sus caras quemadas por el frío y sus cuerpos débiles y decadentes por la falta de agua y alimento mostraban el lado más sensible de todo lo que vivieron estás personas. Hay muchos mensajes dentro de la película que para todos pueden ser muy diferentes, hay algunos que lo verán desde el lado religioso pensando que desde la fe que tuvieron en Dios y su manera de aferrarse a la vida fue lo que les ayudó a salir con vida, otros lo verán desde cómo los seres humanos a pesar de pasar por adversidades tienen la esperanza de hacer lo mejor que pueden.

The actors were at the height of the film and were the ones who gave meaning to the whole story of what happened. We can see how they changed physically as the days went by in that mountain range, their faces burned by the cold and their weak and decadent bodies due to the lack of water and food showed the most sensitive side of what these people lived through. There are many messages within the film that for everyone can be very different, there are some who will see it from the religious side thinking that from the faith they had in God and their way of clinging to life was what helped them to get out alive, others will see it from how human beings despite going through adversity have the hope to do the best they can.

Dentro de la película hay una escena que muestran un papel de Numa uno de los jóvenes que falleció dónde decía algo muy bonito: "No hay amor más grande que el que da la vida por los amigos." Esa frase se me quedó grabada y deja ver que él siempre fue muy leal a sus creencias religiosas y más allá de eso fue una forma de dejarle a sus amigos un mensaje muy poderoso sobre que puedes llegar amar tanto más allá de ti mismo en una situación tan difícil como la que ellos vivieron.

There is a scene in the movie where they show a piece of paper from Numa, one of the young men who passed away, where he said something very beautiful: "There is no greater love than to lay down one's life for one's friends". That phrase stuck with me and shows that he was always very loyal to his religious beliefs and beyond that it was a way of leaving his friends a very powerful message that you can love beyond yourself in a situation as difficult as the one they lived through.
