Audiovisual Exercise at the Chef's School/Ejercicio Audiovisual en la escuela de Chef.
Greetings friends of Hive, I hope you are very well, today I come to share a post where I show the audiovisual exercise I just made for my personal curriculum.
Saludos amigos de Hive, espero que se encuentren muy bien, hoy les vengo a compartir un post donde muestro el ejercicio audiovisual que acabo de realizar para mi currículo personal.
I've owed this exercise for years, which is to record an advertisement to a kitchen, in this case it was to a chef school, specifically, where my wife @crily.love studies.
Este ejercicio me lo debía desde hace años, que es grabar una publicidad a una cocina, en este caso fue a una escuela de chef, específicamente, donde estudia mi esposa @crily.love.
She told me that she had a sample and it seemed like the perfect place to develop this video to promote my work.
Ella me comentó que tenía una muestra y me pareció el lugar perfecto para poder desarrollar esta video para promocionar mi trabajo.
Something that pleases me a lot is to be able to work everything that has to do with the creative process, from the camera, lighting, editing and colorimetry, in this case it was like that, of course professionally this always requires a team, no one can do everything alone, but as it is something personal I could dedicate myself to develop all this exercise.
Algo que me agrada mucho es poder trabajar todo lo que tenga que ver con el proceso creativo, desde la cámara, la iluminación, el montaje y la colorimetría, en este caso fue así, claro profesionalmente este siempre amerita un equipo, nadie puede hacer todo solo, pero como es algo personal pude dedicarme a poder desarrollar todo este ejercicio.
In the video you can see how I was able to play with the colors of the lighting, from green, blue, violet and yellow, I also took advantage of the colors of the food, with them I could play a lot.
En el video podrán ver como pude jugar con los colores de la iluminación, desde el verde, azul, violeta y amarillo, también aproveche los colores de los alimentos, con ellos pude jugar bastante.
The editing was done in the Davinci Resolve Editor, a space where I could play a lot with the colors, what an incredible program, it is the best for an editor, the quality and the treatment that allows you to do to the colors is incredible, it took 4 days to do this editing, working in Davinci deserves more dedication, I have to accept that the treatment requires more time so the work comes out a little more expensive, I think that if a client wants a fast job he should do it through the premiere editor, if the work is of the highest quality, if there is a good investment or if it has to do with a personal project if it is worth spending as much time as possible. I think the colors in this video were phenomenal, I would like to learn much more about colorimetry, I hope to read some books I have out there to polish myself much more.
El montaje lo realicé en el Editor Davinci Resolve, espacio donde pude jugar bastante con los colores, qué programa tan increíble, es lo mejor para un montador, la calidad y el tratamiento que te permite realizar hacia los colores es increíble, dure 4 días para realizar este montaje, trabajar en Davinci amerita más dedicación, tengo que aceptar que el tratamiento amerita más tiempo por lo cual el trabajo sale un poco más costoso, considero que si un cliente quiere un trabajo rápido tendría que hacerlo por el editor de premiere, si el trabajo es de máxima calidad, si existe una buena inversión o si tiene que ver con un proyecto personal si vale dedicarle todo el tiempo posible. Considero que los colores de este video quedaron fenomenal, me gustaría aprender mucho más de la colorimetría, espero leer algunos libros que tengo por ahí para pulirme mucho más.
Another thing that I have to applaud was the game of montage and movement, added to the music that is very fast, although I found it interesting that it was Asian considering that the food was Indian-Asian, so it fell perfectly.
Otra cosa que tengo que aplaudir fue el juego de montaje y movimiento, sumado a la música que es muy rápida, aunque me aprecio interesante que fue asiática tomando en cuenta que la comida era hindú - asiática, por lo cual quedo cayó perfectamente.

That was a pretty cool attempt! You managed to get the idea down between pacing of the chaos of a kitchen but also the simple and gentle movements of the hands that go into the process of food prep. Editing for portrait must be difficult though!
As a filmmaker, I'd recommend saving up these Hive earnings, keep posting little videos as you practice new things, and then buy a camera. Get some more cinematic lenses that'll really open up your creativity. It'll be a whole new world for you.
