The worst part in the Expendables series .
I'm a big fan of the Expendables series, so I was excited to see the newly released fourth installment. However, after watching the movie, I'm wondering if I actually watched Expendables Part 4 or an Expendables parody movie. The movie is directed by Scott Waugh, and it's his second movie of the year. The total runtime is 1 hour and 43 minutes, which is the same as the first two Expendables movies. This is significantly shorter than the third movie, which was 2 hours and 10 minutes. The movie cast includes many of the same actors from previous installments, such as Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, and Randy Couture. Newcomers to the cast include Megan Fox, Tony Jaa, and Iko Uwais and many others. However, I missed Arnold Schwarzenegger and Terry Crews, who have been part of the Expendables series since the beginning. I think their acting is much better than the newcomers.
Now I come to the main story why I call it worst . We know that Expendables movie is made with top class actors of Hollywood, has a very strong story and the plot of this movie is very big. Full of various types of fighting. And everyone has a special role. But in this part you will get nothing. Although many new actors have been added in the movie, I did not get the performance I expected from them. At the beginning of the movie, you can see the villain and have a good fight with him, then you can see a fighting scene of Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham. The movie then goes straight to its mission scene. And there already newcomers have joined and everyone can see in that unique black dress. Then the mission starts and some fighting. Sylvester Stallone died in a plane crash during this mission in the movie.
To avenge Stallone's death, Jason Statham comes up with a new plan to fight the enemies. Statham basically carries the entire movie on his shoulders, with Megan Fox's team joining him. Fox and Statham are the main focus of the entire movie. Statham's acting is great, and he's acting I enjoyed about the movie.
Tony Jaa has a special role in the movie, In total, he is only shown for 10 minutes and in that there are fight scenes. I don't think anyone is unaware of Tony Jaa and his acting skills. He's an action hero. I think the quality of the movie would have been much better if Tony Jaa had been cast instead of Megan Fox. Another martial artist and Indonesian hero, Iko Uwais, is featured as a villain in the movie. However, he's not really a villain. He's given a lot of screen time, but his dialogue is terrible and he doesn't fight much. Again, many of the heroes don't get enough screen time. It seems like they were only there to run errands.
More than half of the entire movie is spent fighting on a ship. All of the Expendables movies end with a big fight scene, and this installment is no exception. This time, it's a fight between Jason Statham and Iko Uwais. However, this fight scene is also disappointing, because we expect more from these two actors. And Jason Statham is everywhere. At one point, I thought the movie should have been called Jason Statham's Transporter instead of The Expendables Part 4.
I said a lot of bad things about this movie but there are some good things. The movie is done in a new location. Many new characters have been added. Sylvester Stallone has always been the main focus of the Expendables series but this time the focus has shifted to Jason Statham. The story has been slightly altered. But this change is not done correctly. Because of which the movie is in this state.
Anyway, these are all my own opinions about this movie. You may have different opinions. But I don't think you'll like it very much. If you have a lot of time to spare, then you can watch the movie.
