"Queen of Tears": My First Dive into Korean Drama
Hey movie lovers, how's it going? I've never been a big fan of Korean dramas. I mean, I've seen some short clips on YouTube and Facebook, heard about the hype, but never felt the urge to watch it because I'm an animation movie lover. I have watched numerous animated films including some Korean animation. When it comes to animated movies, I can't resist But this time I'm diving into an entire TV series, and let me tell you—it has a beautiful story. It started from 5-6 days ago when my sister asked me to look for the Hindi dubbed version of this serial. I had some time on my hands, so I thought, why not test it for myself? And here I am, sharing my thoughts with you all. So let me tell you about the Korean TV series "Queen of Tears".
"Queen of Tears" is a South Korean television series with a total of 16 episodes. It was released in 2024 and is currently streaming on Netflix. But I saw its Hindi dubbed from a third party site. It currently has an IMDB rating of 8.3/10. And the duration of each episode is about one and a half hours. Pretty big. I finished watching it in about 5 days.
Let me give you some idea of its basic story. The TV series revolves around a married couple, Baek Hyeon-woo and Hong Hae-in, who face a crisis in their relationship. Baek Hyun-woo, a successful lawyer, and Hong Hae-in, the haughty queen of a department store, seem like the perfect couple from the outside. But in reality it is not. Baek Hyeon-woo is the son of a farmer family but after marriage he lives in his father-in-law's house where he is scolded in many ways. And unable to bear all this, he wants to give Hong Hae-in a divorce, but at that time he learns that Hong Hae-in is suffering from a fatal disease that has no cure and he only has three months to live. And from this point the entire TV series takes a different turn.
Baek Hyeon-woo is happy to hear the news at first but one time he realizes that he loves Hong Hae-in very much and Hong Hae-in loves him back. But things take a turn when Hong Hae-in's family is framed in a false case and their possessions are taken away by another person. And at that time, Hong Hae-in's family moved to Baek Hyeon-woo's poor house. At one point in the series, Baek Hyeon-woo and Hong Hae-in divorced. And then the series becomes more beautiful and exciting. Baek Hyeon-woo and Hong Hae-in live in the same house and they start dating again. And the ending of this TV series is very beautiful. Those who see will understand.
Like any series, "Queen of Tears" has its strengths and weaknesses. On the plus side, the acting is top notch, with the cast delivering performances that are believable and emotionally resonant. The cinematography is also beautiful, every scene is thought out to enhance the mood of the story but I found the series to be very generic story like other local TV series. The series is so special to show the end of the beautiful love between Baek Hyeon-woo and Hong Hae-in. Yes, I am watching it for the first time and I watched it because I had time, otherwise I would not have watched it. This is entirely my opinion. You can watch it if you want. The TV series is good.
