Hey everyone, and welcome back! Today, we're diving into a brand new action thriller movie that everyone is buzzing about: Monkey Man . This movie marks a double hit for Dev Patel. Not only does he take on the lead role, he also steps behind the camera for the first time as a director. Remember him from that heartbreaking performance in Slumdog Millionaire and Lion? Well, get ready for a whole new side of Patel - intense, funny, and bringing this revenge story. Monkey Man premiered in the United States and Canada on April 5, 2024, and it quickly entered theaters in other countries such as Australia a few days ago. But here's the twist: the film's release is currently on hold in Patel's home turf, India That Monkey Man is facing some censorship hurdles in India Here's the deal: Some at the Central Board of Film Certification are concerned about the movie's depiction of violence, some potentially mature scenes, and references to Hinduism and mythology.

The story takes place in Mumbai, where a stark contrast exists between the wealthy elite and the struggling poor. Corrupt politicians like Sikandar Kher's character manipulate the system for their own gain, leaving the lower classes vulnerable. When tragedy strikes an impoverished community, a hero emerges: the Monkey Man.

The ape people provide a raw and brutal fighting style. Patel's character uses a unique battle technique inspired by the legendary Hindu monkey god Hanuman, inspired by his mother's story of the mighty protector Hanuman from the Ramayana, the hero seeks justice. He becomes a vigilante fighting for his community. His actions attracted the attention of powerful factions.

The movie Monkey Man is 2 hours 1 minute (121 minutes) long. The acting in Monkey Man is amazing. Dev Patel pours his heart and soul into this vengeful character and delivers a career-defining performance. Shows a range of emotions as he struggles with his mother's death, his motives and his thirst for revenge. The supporting cast is equally impressive, with both seasoned Indian actors and some new faces leaving their mark. The film draws comparisons to John Wick and similar action movies with heroes driven by an unyielding spirit.

Will you see the monkey man? Well, that depends. If you're a fan of action movies with a social conscience and can handle some brutality, you might enjoy this. I like it very well because every scene is done perfectly. Especially the action scenes. The action scenes that we normally see in Indian movies are of very low quality. But that is not the case here. Here the pure Indian movie story is connected with the Western movies.

Let me know what you think of Monkey Man in the comments! have you seen it What are your thoughts on the action, story or acting?

I've heard quite a bit that this movie will surpass Marvel's avengers as it's honestly much better and more realistic much the John wick style.
