movie review : Fighter .
I am confident that Siddharth Anand can direct any movie; He seems to be able to turn any idea into a successful film. Like "Bang Bang," "Pathan," "War" or the newly released "Fighter" this year 2024 - every movie is a super hit. Bollywood movie buffs have long wanted to watch a Deepika and Hrithik Roshan movie together. And Siddharth Anand has done that in this fighter movie. As a big fan of Hrithik Roshan, I admire his incredible acting skills. The silent demeanor he gives is mesmerizing. The way he portrays the burden of being the best and the desire to break free is truly admirable. Everything seems fine until some cliche dialogue spoils the mood, but we'll discuss that later.
The story revolves around Jammu and Kashmir, where some of the best air forces are stationed. A team of Airmen is formed for quick response missions and they form a strong bond with their commanders. An attack took place in Pulwama, and the same Air Force team was deployed for rapid response airstrikes. Azhar Akhtar, portrayed as a dangerous elite terrorist, is secretly recruited in Pakistan for this particular terrorist attack. As the story unfolds, Pakistani forces execute a major plan, resulting in an airstrike. Hrithik Roshan, along with his team, infiltrated the PoK airbase, faced an ambush and was tortured in a Pakistani jail for months.
Hrithik's character returns to India, faces legal challenges and is relocated. Patty decides to leave the Air Force, but news of Taj and Bash's return from Pakistan changes everything. Only one of the brothers returns as a martyr, and the finale involves taking out another soldier. The film comes full circle, portraying the imperfect brotherhood with impactful music, especially in the funeral scene with "Suzlam Suphalam", a special and powerful track used effectively in emotional and action moments.
The duality of the song is amazing, creating inspiration, even in action scenes. About Hrithik Roshan's looks, who would believe that he is 50 plus? Now, speaking of the action execution, I want to disclose that I have never seen any of the "Top Gun" movies, so I have no idea about the quality of fighter jet-based action movies. However, I believe Siddharth Anand's "Fighter" should have detailed and entertaining action, not just empty room fights. Scenes, such as the character struggling with the brother's leg getting stuck, add to the thrill and the director's attention to detail. The fighter jet sequence, coupled with the right amount of madness, promises a mind-blowing experience for the Indian audience.
"Fighter" presents Hrithik Roshan as more than just eye candy, portraying him as a great actor who delivers extraordinary performances. Deepika Padukone's character also gets due treatment, conveying different stories and moods through her muted looks. The film's emotional peak occurs in a special funeral scene, where the brother stops himself from crying and the eyes express emotion. Anil Kapoor's character, Rocky, starts off strong but gradually mellows.
Now, let's discuss the dialogues, which affect the identity of the movie because of the emotional lines. However, innovative action and mood balance everything. Intentional commercial touches are added, especially in scenes like Minnie meeting her parents at the gate and Patty talking to her parents at the airport. While the sentiments are good and well written, these elements contribute somewhat to the crease department. I will keep the dance numbers and dialogues in such a great box. Nevertheless, the movie successfully aims to evoke heart-pounding patriotism and give the warrior a chance for redemption. If you enjoy action movies with similar elements and dialogues, this is a watchable option, even with family members. thank you
