Announcing The Christmas Contest Winners!

christmas contest.png

I know, I know. We're in March already! Life took over for a lot of the mods, a lot of changes in life, a lot of personal aspects that took over our time as we each had to deal with the entry into the new year. The time to get together finally and vote through all of the submissions we received took a while to coordinate, but we finally managed to get it done. Do you know what that means? Well, we have our three winners for the Christmas Contest!

I won't bore you all that much and steal too much of your time, so let's get into the fun part, here are the three winners from the contest.

First Place: @nameless16

Merry Little Batman - Movie Review

The script written by Morgan Evans and Jasse Rico, is an excellent opportunity to show a very different facet between the relationship between Bruce and his son Damian; although the story is told from the point of view of the young Wayne, what created a good first impact on me was the version of both Bruce and Alfred, but not only that, I also liked how Christmas has great influence on all the characters that appear in this story which is very soft and very far from what we have seen before in every story of Batman and his struggle for justice in his city, but the way of telling this new adventure is so fresh, fun and I can even say happy, that makes it one of the Batman movies that I liked the most.

Second Place: @theawesononso

Klaus (Review). An Unexpected Christmas Story.

So what are the other aspects that Klaus makes up with? Well, let's just start by saying that the movie presents quite a creative story. I have watched a good number of Christmas movies and most of them are always very cliche but this movie presented a new type story to me. There are movies out there that focus on Santa Claus but I have not seen anyone like this. This film is really about the origin of the myths of Santa Claus but in a universe where most of the myths are true. There is actually a man that delivers toys to kids but not quite as we were told as kids.

A California Christmas: City Lights - Marriage on Christmas Eve? | Christmas Contest

I liked that message, and it was conveyed by a barefoot child. The protagonist gave him a pair of shoes, which reminded me of the kindness that exists in Venezuela. Many people may not have a lot of money, may be humble or may have a lot financially, but they will always share what they have at times. By nature, by our culture, and always in the seasons, you see in the country that someone gives you a Hallaca, a piece of bread, or sweets. Traditions exist—not in the same quantities as a couple of years ago, but the vast majority are like that. Christmastime is for sharing and being with the people you love.
