C’est quoi le NIFFF? - What is the NIFFF?
Tu me demande encore ce qu’est le NIFFF?!?!
Eh ben réveilles-toi car c’est une sacrée aventure filmographique et cinématographique de fou en plein coeur du centre ville de Neuchatel. Humain et vif de multidudes de ressentiments et de partages; ce festival est très chaleureux, il se passe dans l’ambiance d’une grande famille, donc c’est hyper génial.
Pour tout dire en fait, le NIFFF (Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival), le lieu dont tout le monde est ouvert et accessible mais encore, c’est the big moment de l’année cinématographique en ville, notre festival de Cannes à nous.
D’autant plus que l’on a l’immense avantage parfois de voir des films prévus au cinema dont les gens ne peuvent voir avant leurs sorties officielles. C’est un privilège dont j’admire et dont suis très fière de connaître.

Well, wake up, because it's a crazy filmographic and cinematographic adventure in the heart of Neuchatel. It's human and alive with an multidudes of sensations and sharing; this festival is very warm, it takes place in the atmosphere of a big family, so it's really great.
In fact, the NIFFF (Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival), the place where everyone is open and accessible, is the big moment of the year for film in our town, to be real it’s also our very own Cannes Film Festival.
Moreover, we sometimes and often have the advantage of seeing films scheduled in cinema that people can't see before their official release. It's a privilege, I admire and I am very proud to know it.
Quelques chiffres / Some Numbers
- 120 invités et environ 40 personnalité qui sont présentes pour représenter leur oeuvres filmographiques.
- Invitee d’honneur cette année est; Asia Argento actrice, réalisatrice, dj et mannequin. Elle y représente une carte blanche cest a dire environ quatre films fondamentaux que nous pouvons revoir ou découvrir.
- 350 bénévoles
- 120 guests and around 40 celebrities on hand to represent their films.
- This year's guest of honor is Asia Argento actress, director, DJ and model. She represents a carte blanche, i.e. around four fundamental films that we can revisit or discover.

Le festival se situe en plein centre ville de Neuchâtel; au jardin anglais.
The festival is located in the heart of Neuchâtel, in the English Garden.
Films et évennements
A chaques début de représentations de films, un présentateur annonce et présente le film dans une ambiance familiale et parfois humouristique.
Les films sont principalement projetés dans 3 salles de cinéma, un théatre et en Open Air. Il y a aussi des spectacles d’arts de rue, des jeux vidéos, diverses performances artistiques et une exposition. Au niveau de la nourriture, il y a environ une dizaine de foodtrucks ainsi qu’un grand bar avec dj.
At the start of each film, a presenter announces and introduces films in a family-friendly and also sometimes in an humorous atmosphere, that is so cool.
Films are mainly shown in 3 cinemas, a theater and in Open Air. There are also street art shows, video games, various artistic performances and an exhibition. In terms of food, there are around ten foodtrucks, wich you can try out, there is also a little and large bar with dj.
Sérieux et en phase avec la vie quelle soit actuelle, passée ou futuriste et imaginaire. Le festival propose une panoplie de films mêlant des nouveautés en avant-première ainsi que des rétro-projections. Par exemple à l’affiche cette année il y avait Godzilla, Matrix, American Psycho. Waw trop trop génial! 😍

Pour l'instant, depuis le début du festival le vendredi 5 juillet 2024, j'ai eu la chance de voir 25 films. Dans mon prochain post, je vous ferai mes commentaires et mettrai mes films préférés.
So far, since the start of the festival on Friday, July 5, 2024, I've been lucky enough to see 25 films. In my next post, I'll give you my comments and put my favorite movies.

C’est un bon actuel film d’horreur sur le thème du voyage dans le temps. Ce que j’ai adoré dans le film à été les espaces et paysages ainsi que surtout les objets vintage dont le film retrace.
It's an actual and a good horror movie on about the time travel theme. What I loved about the film was the landcapes and above all things, the relating vintage stuffs.
Fan des vieilleries; comme vous me connaissez un peu. Ben à la fin des questions-réponses; j’ai craqué et ai profité d’échanger un peu avec le réalisateur du film.
As you know me, I'm a fan of old movies. Well, at the end of the Q&A, I cracked up and took the opportunity to chat a bit with the film's director.
Mes affectations
Les rencontres entre bénevoles sont très riches et diverses. J’ai pu rencontrer et faire la connaissance de nouvelles personnes et même de comédiens. J’en profite pour partager et m’informer de la profession, c’est génial!
Le festival de notre région, offre une multitude d’opportunités et de bons échanges mutuels. Cette année est un peu spéciale pour moi car je fais “mon retour“ après environ 4 ans d’absence.
C’est alors que je me suis inscrite pour faire cette année au secteur du montage - démontage. En effet ayant jamais participé à ce travail; je me suis dit que ce serait l’occasion pour moi d’avoir un autre point de vue du festival.
En effet, les années dont j’ai eu l’occasion d’y apporter mon aide: j’ai pu aller et expérimenter presque tous les autres secteurs dont les bénévoles peuvent être assignés. Tels que la billetterie, l’information, les accréditations, masterclass, carré VIP, petit et grand bar, etc... Il me manque juste de faire la promo je crois 😃😄
The encounters between volunteers are very rich and diverse. I've been able to meet and get to know new people and even actors. It's a great way to share and learn about the profession!
The festival in our region offers a multitude of opportunities and good mutual exchanges. This year is a bit special for me, as it's my "comeback" after an absence of some 4 years.
That's when I signed up to do this year's assembly - disassembly. Having never been involved in this work before, I thought it would be a good opportunity for me to get a different perspective on the festival.
Indeed, in the years I've had the opportunity to help out, I've been able to go and experience almost all the other areas that volunteers can be assigned to. Such as ticketing, information, accreditation, masterclass, VIP lounge, small and large bar, etc... I just need to do the promo, I think 😃😄
