La estafa maestra / The Italian job (2003): Movie Review
Esta es la típica película de robos, donde tenemos un equipo que dará el golpe de su vida, pero uno de ellos terminará por traicionarlos, asesinando a uno de los miembros, por lo que años después, el equipo se volverá a juntar para tomar venganza, contando con la ventaja de que fingieron sus muertes, pero esta vez tendrán que incluir a nuevos miembros, por lo que la planeación de todo el golpe, sumado a que deben confiar unos en otros, llena de bastante complejidad a la trama, haciéndola realmente entretenida.
This is the typical heist movie, where we have a team that will take the hit of their lives, but one of them ends up betraying them, murdering one of the members, so years later, the team will get back together to take revenge. , with the advantage that they faked their deaths, but this time they will have to include new members, so the planning of the entire coup, added to the fact that they must trust each other, fills the plot with quite a bit of complexity, making it truly entertaining.
Otra cosa que realmente engancha rápidamente es el elenco, pues tenemos superestrellas actuales en una etapa más temprana de su carrera, logrando un dinamismo y química muy buenos, manteniéndonos fijos al asiento esperando que sucederá, pues los planes y las situaciones son bastante ingeniosas, aunque como en muchas de las producciones de este tipo, siento que lo más flojo fue el villano, ya que no sólo no tuvo un desarrollo apropiado, sino que ademas por momentos se siente inofensivo.
Another thing that really engages quickly is the cast, since we have current superstars at an earlier stage in their career, achieving very good dynamism and chemistry, keeping us fixed on the seat waiting for what will happen, since the plans and situations are quite ingenious, although As in many productions of this type, I feel that the weakest thing was the villain, since not only did he not have an appropriate development, but also at times he feels harmless.

El villano fue interpretado por Edward Norton, mientras que los protagonicos de Mark Wahlberg y Charlize Theron, que fue quien mejor lo hizo, además de que es simplemente hermosa, fueron puntos muy positivos, otros como Jason Statham o Seth Green, que aunque no tuvieron tanto tiempo en pantalla, completaron la lista de actores de verdadero lujo. Algo que me dio risa fue ver a Statham riendo y en un papel menos serio a lo que le hemos vistos en los últimos años, debe ser que alguien le dijo que no lo hiciera después de esta cinta, para verse más malo e intimidante.
The villain was played by Edward Norton, while the protagonists of Mark Wahlberg and Charlize Theron, who did it best, in addition to being simply beautiful, were very positive points, others like Jason Statham or Seth Green, who although they did not have so much time on screen, they completed the list of truly luxury actors. Something that made me laugh was seeing Statham laughing and in a less serious role than what we have seen in recent years, it must be that someone told him not to do it after this film, to make himself look meaner and more intimidating.
En cuanto a la trama y el desarrollo de la historia, hay momentos que fueron algo impredecibles, pues si todo era perfecto hubiera sido muy aburrido, pero tampoco cuenta con retorcidos giros de trama, que compliquen innecesariamente las cosas. Las escenas como la persecución con los Mini Coopers y los lingotes de oros resulta muy absurda pero divertida, algo que define bien esta experencia.
As for the plot and the development of the story, there are moments that were somewhat unpredictable, because if everything was perfect it would have been very boring, but it also does not have twisted plot twists that unnecessarily complicate things. The scenes like the chase with the Mini Coopers and the gold bars are very absurd but fun, something that defines this experience well.
La ambientación de la pelicula es otro punto a favor muy destacado, comenzamos en la bella ciudad de Venecia donde comienza la historia y dan el primer golpe, aunado a las escenas de persecución en lanchas por sus canales, luego en la escena de la traición nos ambientan en un paisaje tipo Los Alpes, para pasar a Los Angeles, el principal escenario de la gran mayoria de películas Hollywoodenses. Haciendo una revisión rápida de los sitios de filmación, no hay muchos lugares europeos, mientras que New York aparece entre los escenarios, pese a que no recuerdo esta locación en la cinta.
The setting of the film is another very notable point in its favor, we begin in the beautiful city of Venice where the story begins and the first blow is struck, coupled with the chase scenes in boats through its canals, then in the scene of betrayal we set in a landscape like the Alps, to move on to Los Angeles, the main setting for the vast majority of Hollywood films. Doing a quick review of the filming locations, there are not many European locations, while New York appears among the settings, although I do not remember this location in the film.
Lo malo que tiene la película es ya en el final, pierden el sentido de lo que estábamos viendo hasta ese momento, pues los planes muy elaborados y perfectamente ejecutados pasaron a explosiones más desmedidas y persecuciones tipo Need For Speed, ocasionando una completa locura en la ciudad, por lo que termina siendo muy absurdo que al final todos tengan finales felices, ya que deberían haberse convertido en los criminales más buscados.
The bad thing about the movie is at the end, they lose the meaning of what we were seeing up to that moment, because the very elaborate and perfectly executed plans turned into more excessive explosions and Need For Speed type chases, causing complete madness in the movie. city, so it ends up being very absurd that in the end they all have happy endings, since they should have become the most wanted criminals.
En conclusión, me parece que es una película muy entretenida, con varias secuencias bastante ingeniosas y un elenco muy bueno, y aunque tiene sus detalles con el villano y con el cierre de la historia, para mi gusto a envejecido bien. Haciendo esta reseña me percaté de que esta cinta es una remake de otra cinta con el mismo nombre interpretada por Michael Caine, tienen hasta una sinopsis muy parecida, por lo que me gustaría ver como adaptaron los efectos y la tecnología entre una entrega y la otra, tengo ya algo para hacer el fin de semana, jajaja.
In conclusion, I think it is a very entertaining film, with several quite ingenious sequences and a very good cast, and although it has its details with the villain and the closing of the story, for my taste it has aged well. While doing this review I realized that this film is a remake of another film with the same name performed by Michael Caine, they even have a very similar synopsis, so I would like to see how they adapted the effects and technology between one installment and the other , I already have something to do on the weekend, jajaja.
