Cinetv Contest: "Sweet Magnolias" Movie Review
Have you ever come across a movie that, at the beginning, looked uninteresting? Just the name and cover image looked so boring that you might fall asleep while watching, hahaha. Well, sweet Magnolias is a movie that got me hooked for days. When I finished the first three seasons, I couldn't wait for season 4. I loved the ending, but Somehow I'm convinced that there might be a comeback lol
I get tired of watching seasonal movies because of how long it takes to finish them. Imagine watching "Game of Thrones" from season 1 💀.
I was shocked and annoyed at the same time to see that the movie wasn't popular. There was a buzz about it on Netflix, but aside from that, it wasn't a movie that gained a lot of attention. I was obsessed; I posted about it on my WhatsApp status a thousand times, recommending it to my friends, lol.
Sweet Magnolias is a movie about true friendship, love, family, and a town called Serenity.
The movie centers around the personal lives of three best friends (Dana Sue, Maddie Townsend, and Helen Dacutur). It's a movie about how they juggle their personal lives, careers, and relationships in a small town called Serenity.
These three women grew up in serenity and have been best friends since they were little. I loved how everyone in that little town serenity knew each other and always looked out for each other. It's more like having a family in your neighborhood.
This movie made me so emotional because it portrayed female friendship in so many ways. At the end of every weekend, they get together and pour their hearts out, catching up on each other's lives. This was a tradition they started ever since they were young, and up until they were adults.
Now the wrong perception you might get about this movie is that they're old and it would be boring, but guys! That's what made it so interesting and real. Their connection, bond, the moments they've shared in the past, and just everything they're still going through is timeless. I'm pretty sure you'd get jealous at some point because you'd want what they have.
I also love the little romance between their kids; trust me, it's a must-watch.
Looking for a great movie to unwind during the holidays? A movie that would keep you giggling and smiling from ear to ear, a movie that would make you tear up and make you say yeah!! That's what female friendship is all about!!
A movie that would make you miss your best girlfriends and make you wanna call them and tell them how much you love them? Then sweet Magnolias is the perfect find.
