Romance At It's Best - Three Good Recommendations
I'm a huge fan of romantic movies, a good reason I love Korean series as they do have a lot of them but sometimes, I do see a few American movies and other country movies. For a while now, I've been getting good recommendations on romantic movies to see that aren't Korean series. Even though I had to force myself to see them one after the other, I can't lie that I didn't enjoy seeing each of them.
I've seen quite a lot of them in past few weeks but these three, I would recommend to anyone for their love focused storyline and amazing characters.

These three movies have two things in common which didn't make me love them less though, Romance and Comedy and they made it even more interesting and unique with each of the movie. I'm not sure I could give a review on each of them starting from my favourite to the least favourite as they are all movies with something I like about them.
So in no particular order, here are three of the movies I've seen in the past few weeks and short reviews on each of them.
Set It Up
Release date: 15 June 2018
Director: Claire Scanlon
Distributed by: Netflix
Produced by: Juliet Berman; Justin Nappi
The storyline goes like: Two employees who never get spare time for themselves because their bosses are always at work and making them do so many work. They devise a plan to make their bosses fall in love with each other, the lady making her Boss lady fall in love with the guy's employer, a rich and too busy man. Their plans worked out and they got spare time for themselves but how did it all started? Was the love between the Bosses real? What happens when two employees are always busy finding a way for their bosses to fall in love? The movie scenes will get you curious and laughing too.
The characters in this movie are all new to me but I must say I like the effort they put in to their roles, I like the funny friends the leads have, I also like how the story had a twist in an unexpected way making the movie more unique and got me wanting to see it to the end without predicting much.
I'll recommend this movie with a rating of 8/10 from me.
Beautiful Disaster
Release date: 12 April 2023
Director: Roger Kumble
Distributed by: Voltage Pictures
Based on: Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire
Aren't you attracted to that title? Or is it just me? Hehe. I got a recommendation and I like the title so I didn't think too much to see this one. The storyline goes like: A girl tries to live her life forgetting her illegal deeds with her dad in the past but after falling in love with a guy in college, her dad shows up with an illegal case that only she could help him do. She is made to do it but her new boyfriend isn't just going to sit around. A beautiful disaster indeed!
There's a boxing scene at the beginning that kinda put me off but thinking it isn't the focus of the movie, I don't have any issues with it. I love how the two leads grew to like each other and couldn't help but fall hard and do anything to save their relationship especially from her disastrous past and her dad coming back to her life.
I'll recommend this movie with a rating of 8/10 from me.
Your Place Or Mine
Release: 10 February 2023
Director: Aline Brosh McKenna
Screenplay: Aline Brosh McKenna
A refreshing storyline I must say, it was so unexpected and made it more enjoyable to watch. The storyline goes like: Two best friends who lives far from each other decided to help each other with their life's dream by switching places, the guy was to go take care of the lady's child while she goes to his place to stay to she secure an opportunity she found in the city he lives in. Living the switch, they both realized something they thought was no longer there.
I like the child character (a young boy) in this movie a lot more than I can share, his role was a major in making the leafs realize their true feelings and I like how he was made to play it out. The comedy in this movie is good, a lot of scenes got me laughing. I also like the talks about books in this movie as one of the character is a writer.
I'll recommend this movie with a rating of 8/10 from me.

Romance movies always have a great plot and somehow reflect that great importance that one should have with the couple, the various emotions and adventures that can be built and many others that manage to create a great story. Of these that you share with us I have not seen any and it certainly sounds great.
That's the amazing thing about romance movies, I love these ones and I hope you do check one of them out.
Thanks for stopping by
